Marine diesel switch to T6
I have a 17 year old Volvo TAMD41P-A diesel in my 31' recreational trawler. Prior engine oils for the prior owner (11 years) and me have been 15-40 dino oils, until I switched to full synthetic engine oil, also 15-40. Operating temperature dropped 5 degrees at standard cruising RPM of 1800 to 2200 (only one of two thermostats in place most of that time), the engine runs quieter and more smoothly. Based on research I have found, I know that my engine is running cleaner, with other attributes of reduced internal corrosion, less wear, etc. After installing 2 new thermostats, the engine runs precisely on specification for operating temperature through the full range of RPM, right up to wide open throttle, 3800 (end of the day 10 minute spike to clean the exhaust system ). Further, smoke when starting is greatly diminished to almost zero. I am completely satisfied that I am doing all that I can to accomplish optimal engine performance and protection with Rotella T6 over the last two years, and I am comfortable recommending Rotella T6 to boating friends with diesels, confident in the cost/benefit of using the best oil quality, grade and viscosity for my application.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/25/2023Keep operations as profitable as possible. What I disliked, was I was unable to avoid non paid for by me delivery costs to Walmart. I would have been fine with picking the item up at another location within 10 miles. I also dislike the titles of the boxes above, and below. Above. Change "nickname" to "first name" Below. Remove "add a title" and leave blank. The question. How would you summarize your review? Is instruction enough. "Add title" is misleading.Claude

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/17/2021Great Motorcycle oilI run this in my 2007 Suzuki GSXR1000 and it works great. I have no clutch slip issues. I ride to work daily and typically change this oil every 1500 miles. It's cheap and I can afford to change it more often opposed to “motorcycle specific” labeled oils like at a motorcycle shop. I use 15w40 T6 in my bike with 50k trouble free miles on it. No need to ever adjust valves so far. Specification and approvals include: JASO DH-2, MA/MA 2crea8ive

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/05/2019Best 5W-30 oil currently available!I use this oil in my car's GDI engine and I know several people who love using it in their high performance Subaru engines like that of the STi, WRX, and Forester XT. It just doesn't shear like other 5W-30 oils often do. I am very happy that Shell offers this product but it is very difficult to find in stores and usually online retailers offer it at a more premium price. I hope it is made more commonly available in the future!Ignatius

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser03/08/2018Works great in my motorcycle!I have been using this oil in my 1998 Honda F6 Valkyrie Tourer for 6 years now, and have had no issues with clutch operation. Even at full throttle with the big 6 cylinder engine, no clutch slippage. Also, the notorious Valkyrie top gear whine was a lot quieter immediately after the first oil change. It's also priced a lot cheaper than the competing oils, a nice added bonus. I don't hesitate to change the oil when I should, when the price is about half of other high end or OEM oils. It's available at many local retailers, so, it's easy to obtain. I wish it was available in other weights like 5W20. I would use it my 2010 F150 5.4L if I could, because it's really not that much more expensive than conventional oil.Crop Duster

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/05/2016Quaker State 5W 30 Full Synthetic with DEXOSHave been using another quality brand, but changed over to Quaker Full Synthetic a couple of months ago. as my Cadillac uses 8 qts. The engine has had tiny lifter noises which come with the newest Gen Northstar Engine. I put on 5,000 miles a month and change oil. Now at 6,800 miles the noises are gone. I have 7 vehicles and will use QS in everything. DEXOS has been added which smooths the cylinder walls for more power and the rotating parts for less noise.transtecltd

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/17/2015Makes my truck run like newI have been using your oil for the past few years. When I had switched over from none name brand oil. I noticed right away the difference. In performance, response, running temp and I also believe it has helped alil with mpg. But over all I give this oil a 5 star rating. Great oil and a great company. I also run your oils in my tractors my dunebuggy and 4 wheelers and my wife's car. Keep up the the great work producing great oil. And you have a life long customer here. Thanks again Josh WellerWeller28

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/15/2015Best Oil on the MarketI have used Quaker State Motor Oil since I started driving my first car that I still have 1969 Chevelle SS396. I started driving in 1979. I used Quaker State because it was Refined from Pennsylvana Grade Crude Oil. I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L V-8. And it gets Quaker State. I still have 4 cans Full of Penn Grade Quaker State Oil that I have saved over the 36 yrs that I have been driving. Thank You Quaker State for making such a fine product to protect my engines.DaveG

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/03/2015Used Quaker State For Many YearsBeen using Quaker State for years in many different vehicles that I have owned and have always been satisfied. I own a 1969 All Original Ford Mustang and from the very first oil change, I have used Quaker State Oil. Engine is still like brand new and has never had any major repairs. I believe I may still have a quart of 10W-30 Quaker State oil in the old metal can from the first case of oil I bought years ago.Poppa 40
