Incredible hoop for an incredible price
Very solid basketball hoop. (Incredible for $50) Unfortunately the first one I bought was opened prior to me bringing it home from the store, and was missing all the required hardware/instructions for assembly. I returned it to the store and they refunded me with a gift card so I could purchase another. Not the manufacturers problem, but a simple store mistake. It will take a lot of man hours to install yourself, (took me a couple days) and you will need to purchase all the necessary hardware if you are looking to install on a surface other than brick. The hardware included is only for mounting on a brick wall. I went to Lowe’s and bought 6-3/8 carriage bolts/nuts and washers, as well as a 10’ 2/4 stud that I cut into two 25” vertical pieces to reinforce the inside wall of my garage. I also replaced the net with a Spalding heavy duty net because the one included is a little short for my liking and will likely not last in the Ohio weather conditions. Overall positive experience, minus having to return the first one. I would recommend to anyone interested. Looking forward to enjoying for years to come as I raise my son.

The Happiness
This seemed like a great hoop but it's literally been up for 5 days and the infinity crank system broke on the first try when we tried to lower it a bit. It looks like it's a weld that holds the two pieces together and my guess is the weld didn't hold well enough.

    great goal for the money
this is a very nice goal for 50. If you search the web there is a $10 code so you can get it for $40. Only thing id say is that the backboard is a little on the thin side but other than that it is an excellent goal for the money.

    Awesome for $50!!!
I took on this project my by myself. Mounted into garage wall with vinyl siding. Bottom of bracket was mounted 8’ 10” from ground. I could have likely mounted it a few inches shorter. I drilled into the wall to know where the bracket had to be mounted. Cut a 2x4 into 6 pieces measuring 14 1/4” to fit between studs. Used 2.5” screws to secures those. I then used 4” galvanized carriage bolts to secure the bracket to the wall. Once bracket was secured I installed the arms of the bracket. I then lifted the backboard to secure it to the arms.

    Do not buy this
I purchased this on 10/10/22. I had to do a fair amount of work to attach the bracket and backboard to the house. Within thirty minutes of play one of the hooks that holds the net to the rim snapped off. I called customer service and was basically told I had to remove the entire back board and adjustable mount in order to return. I could just get a replacement for the rim. That is completely insane.

Totally Awesome Hoop For the Money
I still cannot believe how awesome this hoop is for only $100. I installed it on the front of my home above the garage. The directions show assembling the entire thing and recommend 3 adults to install. I did it safely by myself on a ladder, by piecing it together after first installing the base frame to the house. I highly recommend this method. I reinforced the back-side of the wall and spent $23 in hardware to mount.

A good product. Worth the money.
The product is well designed and sturdy. Easy to assemble if you read the instruction. If you hang it on your garage wall (framed by lumbers), make sure to add a frame inside to make it stronger. Also, cut two 30" 2x4s for outside wall. I used 1/4" x 5" galvanized screws (you need washers too) to attach the steel back frame on the wall first, then, attached other pieces. You need to purchase the long screws separately. The anchor bolts come with the package are for brick walls. Since the height can be adjusted with 30" range, the bottom of the steel back frame can be placed at 9ft high or so. (the instruction does not mention how high you should hang the steel frame). If you used 2x4 to reinforce the inside of the wall, make sure the two vertical studs' center lines are 18" apart since the holes on the steel back frame are 18" apart.

Ok, not great, need additional hardware
The bolts included are only for installing into brick. You will need to go out and get additional lag screws or preferably carriage bolts and reinforce the wall when installing. The goal itself is nice and adjustability is nice, however, no where in the instructions does it give you measurements for mounting height or exactly how much travel there is in the adjustment. The backboard is not great. It's relatively thin and there is a bit of a dead bounce in several areas of the acrylic. Not great. For $99, I ended up spending another $20 for mounting bolts/hardware. Not the best, but it beats nothing for kids that need an activity.

Product directions were terrible. There was a template for the drilling of holes needed to hang basketball structure but no measurements how far off the ground to put it or the size of the drill bit to use.

Walmart's Gift to You and Your Kids.
This is a great hoop. It's absolutely worth full price, and it's a crazy good deal at $100. You need to have a place to mount it (and a hoist or scaffolding, or a couple ladders and an extra set of helping hands to get that done), but once it's up, you'll love it. All the hardware you need to mount this to a brick or concrete wall is included (including expansion anchors). If you're mounting to something else (e.g., metal or wood beams), you'll need carriage bolts, thru-bolts, or good strong lag screws. I ended up using a combination of lag screws and thru-bolts with fender washers. A few installation notes: The included hardware isn't stainless, so you probably want to get out the WD-40 and spray or soak all the nuts and bolts before you put this together. And if you're buying mounting hardware to mount this, I would also get some stainless washers to replace the washers that are included. And if you want to go with all stainless hardware on your own, it's a combination of M8 and M10 nuts and bolts (which, unfortunately, might double the price of the unit). I ended up using the included hardware except for the expansion bolts and the washers, and then I used my own stainless washers along with lag screws and thru-bolts with fender washers. I also ended up drilling a couple holes through the beefy back mounting frame an inch or so from the existing holes to better match my bolt size and beam locations. The predrilled holes in the frame are somewhere between 3/8 and 1/2 inch in diameter. If you do drill holes in the frame, I wouldn't move the top or bottom holes inward past the top and bottom hinges. You want the top and bottom holes close to the corners like they are, to the outside of the hinges (above on top, below on the bottom). So don't move the corner holes unless you have to, and only move them an inch or so max. Overall, a very doable and satisfying installation. The instructions are clear, there's a useable cardboard template for drilling the mounting holes (you'll need tape), and a link to a short Walmart video animation of how the unit goes together. Thank you, Walmart. i appreciate this very much.

    Good enough
Probably about the minimum quality you'd want, but if you can get it on clearance, it's worth ninety-nine Washingtons. I would have been upset with the quality had I shelled out full. Mounting it was a PITA, not helped by the fact that I installed it under an overhang on my garage, so I had to build out the wall with 4x6" lumber so that it could extend upward to 10 feet. I also had to reinforce the mounting locations inside of the garage . No fault of the product, however. Just keep in mind that this may be hard to adapt to your situation. The project took me a whole Saturday, which included a trip to the hardware store for 6 carriage bolts. I spend a good amount of time measuring and prepping and by the end, I got it mounted to where it is adjustable between 10' and 7'2". Not bad. Things I like: 1. Use of nylock nuts. 2. Nice beefy bracket that secures to the wall (1/4" stock angle iron). 3. The provided template for the mounting bracket. Things I don't like: 1. Poor quality adjustment mechanism that is definitely going to break at some point. I'll probably just slather more moly grease on the screw inside and hope for the best. 2. Backboard needs additional reinforcement at the sides; it has too much "give" with the large area of unsupported plastic sheet. 3. Banking square on the backboard is misplaced and much too small.

    Great backboard for Incredible Price
I can't believe how solid this is for the price. Installation was easy and the package comes with all of the hardware unlike many others. It is steel framed and the attachment frame is very well built. I really couldn't be more pleased. I was almost going to spend four times more.

    Disappointed after 3 months!
At first it was great, but 3 months later the Backboard started separating from the rest of the net structure. This will very soon require me to drill thru the backboard or cut it off. Very disappointed. In addition, I have no way of getting ahold of the manufacturer to have a replacement part fixed as I am not going to take the hoop down after already paying someone to mount it just a few months ago.

Nice product, good value, poor instructions
A good product if you can get it on discount (which seems to be the case at local stores right now.) Faults: the installation instructions are pretty poor, in particular not giving any direction on the width or depth of the hole for the wall mounts. (I found it to be 5/8ths, and just used a depth measure for the length of the cylinder on the bolt). Also, the springs for the breakaway rim were barely compressed, so even a simple free throw would cause the rim to dip. Relatively easy to fix, but requires getting back up on the ladder. The acrylic is a bit thin and seem to deflect a bit when hit by the ball. Finally, the square above the rim is oddly small, as can be seen in the phote. Pretty much useless for it's purpose. Benefits: the frame is heavy and sturdy (meaning the thinness of the acryllic isn't so much of an issue.) The adjustment mechanism seems stable, and is just a simple screw mechanism so unlikely to fail early. The product looks great, and it much more consistent with 'real' backboards so will make practice more effective.

Modern goal on a rustic Indiana barn
We accomplished what we wanted to by getting our boys off their devices and outside, so regardless, the purchase was well worth it. The quality seems pretty good for a $260 goal, but time will tell on that. The installation was pretty time consuming (7 hrs) since it was me by myself. Had there been 3 people as recommended, it would have taken a couple hours. FYI, the system comes with anchors for concrete block or brick. If you have a wooden/metal structure, you'll need to install bracing behind your wall if not already there... a couple 2x4's 18" o/c will work. You'll also need 6 stainless or galvanized 3/8" lag or carriage bolts with nuts and washers in order to attach the goal wall bracket to the structure. Had there been clearer indicators on the box that you needed theses these additional items, it would have earned the 5th star. Overall, we are satisfied and look forward to the many battles at the barn door! Go IU!!!
