FUN! FUN! FUN!
The Yvolution Y Fliker A3 Air Scooter is so much fun for the kids...and adults too! I can't pull my 11 & 9 year olds away from it!! It is a 3 wheeled scooter with two foot rests. Easy to use. You move the scooter by moving your hips & legs from side to side. I get it going by pushing my foot along the ground like a normal scooter and then with the momentum I move side to side. There is a hand brake for quick stops. The handle bars have soft black rubber on them for a comfortable grip. The scooter also folds up for easy and convenient storage! The weight limit goes up to 220lbs. There is some assembly required but it's very minimal. My husband put it together within 15 minutes and said it wasn't hard at all.

Bigger than expected
The first thing I have to say about this scooter is that it is bigger than expected. If you look at the pictures I have included, the blue stick is a 1 foot (12 inch) ruler. So, as you can see, it is big, even folded for “storage”. I was expecting it to fold up a bit smaller. Storing this scooter is going to take up a bit of space. Probably best for a family that has a garage or dedicated storage shed for riding toys. The instructions say this is for kids 7 and up, but most 7 year olds I know would still be a bit small for it. I would range it more to about 9-14 years old. My almost 7 year old was able to figure out how to ride it, but she looks very small on it. She had a hard time controlling it due to being a little too small for it. Even on a flat smooth surface, the scooter kept going off to one side or the other on her, even with the front wheel pointed dead center. She nearly ran into several fences and parked cars from it veering on her as she was trying to go forward. This was even more pronounced when she was going across driveways. Each of the three wheels moves independently in a 180* arch. The back wheels make the scooter slide to the side on any incline. The rider is supposed to wiggle their hips to move the two foot pieces side to side to move forward. My daughter got this figured out, but with the exact same motion, I wasn't able to make it move. I am over 80kg, so maybe that is part of it. The maximum weight for this is 80 kg, which converts to about 175 lbs. The handle does not adjust up and down for different size riders, which is a flaw in the design in my opinion. The scooter competes with inline two wheeled scooters, and most of those have adjustable handle bar heights. So, I think they should have made the handle bars adjustable on this, too. Another advantage the two wheeled scooters have over the Y-Flicker is that they fold up MUCH smaller. We can fit all three of kiddo's razor scooters in the storage space taken up by this ONE scooter and have space left over. While this would fit in the trunk of my Volvo if we wanted to take it to the park, it would not leave room for much else. I honestly don't think it would fit in the trunk of my mom's Prius, though. The instructions are fairly limited, mostly just safety tips. There are videos showing how to ride on YouTube, but I have not watched them. If you have a Smartphone, the box has a QRS code to link to the Yvolution website with links to the videos. It is not too difficult to learn how to ride though, my kiddo only needed about 2 minutes to figure out how to make the scooter go. The booklet includes instructions in several languages. The writers of the instructions apparently really want the rider to watch out for pedestrians, as they have written that warning twice in the same list. The rest of the list is more safety warnings and reminders to check the hardware regularly for wear and retighten screws as necessary. The scooter seems pretty sturdy, though, so I don't think it will need retightening often. To lock the legs out, you have to screw the red knobs (I imagine these would be green or pink on other color schemes) you see near the front wheel into the frame. This is easy to do, but wasn't very intuitive the first time we looked at it. I think picture 3 in the instructions is trying to illustrate this, but it is not very clear. They then unscrew and pop out to fold it. It comes with a Velcro belt/strap to hold it closed and it will not stay folded without this strap. The strap has also fallen off a couple times on us. I do think the brake seems a bit stronger than most bikes and kid's riding toys I have seen. The brake handle is strong, in a good position for easy braking. The only drawback I see to the brake system is there is a bit of exposed brake cable near the wheel; if a child where to turn sharply or hit something, this could snap. My almost seven year old said that while it is fun to ride, it is a bit too much “work” to keep it going and keep it from veering off to the side of the sidewalk. She had fun, but would rather ride her bike or regular two wheeled scooter. She said she felt like she had to quit riding because it was too much work and didn't seem as smooth as the commercial showed. The scooter ships in its original box, which reveals what it is, so if you are shipping this as a gift or surprise, keep that in mind. Whoever sees it upon arrival will know what it is. It is made in China, but shipped from Southern California.

    Pretty cool scooter
The Yvolution Y Fliker A3 Air Scooter is a pretty neat take on the everyday scooter. The cool difference is that instead of kicking and pushing to get momentum, you move your hips and legs like downhill skiing. So, there is no down time. As long as you are moving your hips and legs, the scooter is moving. Cool concept. I got this for my 7 yo son who is almost 50" in height. It is just right for him size wise. There is plenty of room for him to grow with this scooter. There is a little bit of a learning curve when you first get on. It seems a little awkward, but as soon as you start moving, it becomes second nature. You just lean side to side with your legs and off you go. I actually tried this first. It is FUN!!!! What was exciting was when I realized I could drift! While you can ride this scooter on a sidewalk or similar area, I think the best area would be like a parking lot or basketball court where you can really move around. That is where my son has a blast. We go to the elementary school down the street after hours and he has a blast! With all the things kids have now, it is awesome that this scooter has a twist and stow feature so that you can put it away. We do not have anymore room in the garage floor., si it is great that we can fold this up and slide it on a shelf. The scooter itself is approximately 41 x 31 x 25. It is made from reinforced steel tubing with cushy grips on the handles. It has a great quick response hand brake that really stops well. Amazingly, this thing Can handle up to 220 pounds so my son and I can both use it and have lots of fun! Assembly was a snap. In fact, my husband was laughing saying that it was the quickest and easiest thing he has ever had to put together for the kiddos! :) There is a smaller flicker, but I wanted this one as my son could use it for several years instead of growing out of it after 6 months. The handle does not adjust for height, so look at the pictures or measure your child before determining which one to purchase. The price for this scooter was just right in my opinion. It is heavy duty and seems like it will last. I am tired of purchasing for a few months play. This awesome scooter will provide several years of great fun for the whole family. We love it!

    Best Scooter Ever
This scooter is absolutely awesome. I let several kids (my nieces) use it and they all loved it. They were ages 10, 9, and even a 6 year old. They had absolutely no problem learning how to handle it. They liked being able to put both feet on and they loved trying tricks on the scooter. To be honest, I am not sure if they will be able to enjoy their "regular" scooters as much after this! Both wheels in the rear can rotate and turn. (see picture) This is what enables the kids to be able to drift and do other cool tricks. Kids use one foot to gain speed and quickly put that foot on the scooter. While cruising, they can do all sorts of turns and tricks. For those concerned about the potential speed and turning, there is a brake located on the handlebar. To me, I think its an absolutely great feature. For those with kids on the younger end of the spectrum, the brake will help a lot. Kids have to get used to handling it especially with a lot of momentum. Training them to use the brake the minute it feels like its getting out of control is great. The brake is a subtle brake that won't send them flying off the scooter! Another cool feature I like is the ability to store the scooter. There are wheels with springs that you use to lock in the front when setting up. To collapse it for storage, you simply push them in and turn the opposite direction. (see picture) While it is not the lightest to carry, its certainly not as heavy as a bike. Your kids will love this. Its easy to assemble and such a great twist on the ordinary "scooter".

    Great Scooter for Kids
When I received the email saying that this product had shipped. It took absolutely no time to get to me. I had arranged to pick it up at the nearest FedEx location. I was happy I did. The first thing I noticed was the scooter was shipped in the original box. So if it was left on the porch during delivery, it would be easy for people to identify is inside the package. Some of the Pros of the scooter are: Assembling the scooter was extremely easy. It only took a few min. to put everything together and my son was on it ready to ride. When he was riding, I noticed that the Fliker goes very fast, and when he was rolling backwards it had a supportive mechanism to prevent him from falling off. My son also stated the Fliker doesn't make him as tired as fast as a regular scooter. Some of the cons associated with the Flicker are: when you are making a turn real fast it has a tendency to tip over and may cause the child to fall. I had to buy my child sum knee pads and a helmet just to be on the safe side. The handles has the ability to turn up or change in directions. Overall my child loves the scooter. He makes sure that he goes outside at least once a day to ride it. Since he had it he has only had one big fall and that was at the very beginning. It took him no time to actually get the hang of the scooter and to ride without injury. I would recommend this scooter to anybody. My son is 8 years old and it was perfect for his size.

    Fun for the whole family!
I am so glad I decided to try this! After putting it together I decided I wanted to be the first rider. This was so much fun, I didn't want to get off so my kids can try it! The side to side motion is at first tricky and took me a moment to figure out how I can increase my speed but once I did I was golden. I even attempted to do a 360 but was going to fast and accidentally pulled the handle bars up causing me to wipe out. So do use protective gear. My little family of 4 all gave it a go and loved the gliding motion. Hands down a great family fun activity. So now the negative, instructions were horrible. Was 1 sheet of paper with bad illistrations. No words indicating where things go. Pictures were so vauge I felt so frustrated by them, but for the most part I kinda just used common sense. Once it was put together the next big concern I have is the bolts/screws to secure it in the locked upright position. You have to hold the bar upright with 1 hand and screw the bolt in on both sides of the scooter to lock it in place. A smaller kid will always need help with this. My last complaint is the Velcro strap it comes with to keep it together. Come on they could have come out with something better. My daughters $10 scooter has a way to lock it in place to make transporting it a breeze. Overall even with my negative s I still would rate it a 5. We had too much fun with this and I am thinking of purchaseing another one since sharing is an issue for me.

    Kid Approved!
I'm a wee bit too old for scooters, so my nephews, who are 10 and 11 years old were my testers. My part was putting it together. It took less than five minutes. Really. I just had to put the handlebar on and tighten it w/ the handy little wrench tool that came w/ the Y Fliker. I love a product that comes pre-assembled or at least has the hardest parts already pre-assembled. It makes your job much easier. This is a really cool ride. My nephews had to get used to the fact that it isn't like a regular scooter where you push off w/ one foot and just glide along. Not this little beauty. You gotta put in some work! You need some serious foot and hip swiveling action to get the Y Fliker going. But once you're going, you can FLY. Steering is easy and the boys can't wait to try some of the tricks they've seen on Youtube. As to durability, it can take a beating. Both of my nephews love the Y Fliker and the kids in the neighborhood are always begging for a turn. The boys love it so much I might have to go pick up another one. Watching them have so much fun and seeing what a workout this is, I have one question. Do they make this for adults? PS. I forgot to take pics, so I had them go back out. They DO wear helmets when they are riding the Y Fliker. In a week or so of riding, nobody has taken a really bad header, but safety first.

Fun Scooter, but beware of the brake
The Yvolution Y Fliker A3 Air Scooter, Black/Red was simple to assemble, however the directions included steps that had already been completed at the factory and the drawings accompanying the directions were difficult to figure out what was trying to be indicated. Regardless, there was not much to the assembly- probably about 5 minutes once I tossed the poor directions. The item folds flat for storage and when you want to use it, you flip the handlebars upright and tighten them with knobs located near the front wheel. The brake is fairly abrupt so warn the kids not go too fast until they get used to the braking mechanism. To use the product you wiggle your hips back and forth and turning requires a transfer of weight or a lean to one side or the other. The feet remain on the scooter all of the time. This particular item was supposed to be for younger kids, however my 13 year old (average sized for his age) can use this with no issues. Due to the unique nature of the motion and the inability to stop without using the hand brake, I would always require helmets and be very wary of hill riding. If you do not have a flat driveway or surface to ride this, do not get it.

    Pretty Neat Scooter
I chose the Yvolution Y Fliker A3 Air Scooter because it looked unlike any scooter I'd seen before and it is advertised as being self propelled. As I now have grandchildren I thought it would be something cool to have at the house for them to use. The scooter arrived in a nicely packaged box and inside I found the scooter pretty much fully assembled and folded in half. The red color is bright and attractive. Accompanying the actual scooter was a velcro strap to keep the scooter secure once it is folded, an instruction booklet and a separate little plastic package with a small wrench in it. All that was required for assembly was to secure the handlebar. I have to admit that the instruction booklet left something to be desired. It was 20 or so pages long but in actuality it was only 2 pages each of a number of different languages. The 2 pages I could read talked about caring for your scooter and then it listed a number of warnings but no where did it tell you how to actually assemble the scooter or how to ride the scooter, which I found pretty weird. There was a separate piece of paper reflecting how to assemble the scooter and a picture of the parts that I should have received but what it showed was not what I received. The parts list included an allen wrench, 2 screws and some sort of part when in fact all I received was the little wrench. It was almost like I got an older instruction manual with a newer model of the scooter because the assembly was different that stated. Fortunately, I was able to figure out how to attach the handle bar by myself. All that was required was to remove the 2 screws holding the bracket on the handle bar together, place the handle bar in the proper position and re-attach the bracket with the screws using the little wrench. There are screws on the wheels as it shows in the picture in the instruction manual that are adjusted with an allen wrench but as mine did not come with one I used one I had at home to make sure they were tight. To fold and unfold the scooter there are knobs on the front wheels that you tighten and un-tighten. That was pretty much it for assembly. The scooter says it holds 175lbs, which is more than I thought. There is a hand break on the right side of the handle bar for quick stopping that came fully assembled and already attached. While it now looked good assembled, I still had no idea how to ride the thing. I actually had to google how to ride it and found a video on youtube that showed a young boy riding it. I have to admit that I was a little nervous to get on the thing but all you have to do to get it to go is to push off with one foot to get some momentum then once you are up you need to move your legs back and forth sideways at the knees, kind of like skiing and the scooter just goes. The wheel at the front of the scooter turns 360 degrees and I found that it turns really quickly and smoothly. I found riding it quite fun and I suppose you could even burn a few calories if you took it out for any distance. I had my 8 yr old niece try it out and she loved it! I would highly recommend wearing safety equipment because you could pick up some speed or fall off if you are not careful. I can't speak to durability at this point because I haven't had it long enough. I probably would have given the scooter 5 stars if it weren't for the poor instruction manual. I would recommend this item to others.

    GREAT AIR SCOOTER
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I do not keep up with the latest toys until it gets closer to Christmas or if it is brought to my attention by one of my girls. When I saw this item I was like, this looks like fun and an upgraded scooter. As soon as this item arrived, my nine year old daughter was like, "cool, mommy I seen that one television." I went ahead and put the item together and that was a piece of cake. However, we did not get the piece you are suppose to use for the wheels, however we already had one at home so that was not an issue. We then went outside and attempted to use this item and this is where all the fun begun. I attempted to get on the scooter first and had no luck what so ever. I told my daughter it is like riding a bike with no training wheels. Well, I know how to ride a bike with no training wheels. But getting on this thing was a mystery. I only attempted to get on this thing once because I knew busting my butt was not what I wanted to do. After me trying and clearly over the weight requirement listed on the box, I let my nine year attempt. She did not have the best of luck for the first five minutes but she eventually got and she really enjoys this item and wants to get on it everyday. My poor six year old wants to try it out so bad but I will not allow her to try it because she is not old enough for one and while on this thing, if you do not do it properly, you will end up hurting yourself. Overall, we like it. It is highly recommended for older kids only.
