A+
My husband loves this Worx compact circular saw, it's his new favorite tool now. As soon as I gave it to him he couldn't wait to use it. And it was perfect for the current project at our house which is adding more eave vents to the house! The saw is a little dirty in the photos cause we obviously had to use the saw before we reviewed it, so forgive us. But my husband wanted to make sure we get a close up of the safety trigger. Because he's never had any tool that had a safety trigger like it before. All his tools have a "thumb push" type of safety button that you have to push in while pressing the power trigger. This safety switch is more of a "lever switch" than a traditional thumb pushing safety switch. You pull the red lever back toward the power trigger with your index finger while squeezing the power trigger with the rest of your fingers. He says it's different but says he actually likes it. The depth adjustment came in handy too and the saw can cut as thick as 2" boards, but he was cutting into a lot thinner board. The construction of the saw its self rivals big expensive brand tools. He owns many wood working and construction tools (Maybe too many) and knows quality by just the construction/material used and the sound of a tool. And the very first thing he stated was how well built the tool is and how easy it is to operate with just a single hand. Yes! One hand. He said there's been plenty of projects that the large standard size circular saw was too large for the work area and too awkward to use. And that this compact circular saw would have been perfect for those projects and would have saved him a lot of time. A+ Worx on this saw!

Compact
The WORX Compact Circular Saw is a great addition to my not so big tool collection. Being a woman, it is not easy for me to always hold the tools with one hand. However, this saw is perfect to hold in one hand. I am always doing household projects and this saw works much better than the sawzall that I used to make my craft stand and my son's shelves for his closet. It is great for little cuts or big cuts. I would not use it for anything that you might want to cut that is thicker than about 2 inches. Since it is compact, the blade is only 4 ½ inches. It's very easy to use and can even make angled cuts. The saw holds very steady when you begin so you don't have to worry about it jumping and cutting where you didn't want it to cut. This is constructed of very durable materials and lightweight and that should last a long time. I cannot wait to get into more DIY projects around my house just so I can use this saw again. In the package, you get the compact saw, a 4 ½ inch blade, an allen wrench (to attach the blade), a 90 degree nozzle to attach a dust bag (not included), a measuring guide (kind of like a T square), and an instruction manual. Overall, the product is very easy to use. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the difficulty in looking for accessories (like the dust bag) to go with the saw.

Handy to have for a DIY person
The WORX 4-1/2” compact circular power saw would be a great addition to your tool shelf if you are a DIY person like I am. This WORX saw is light; weighing only 4-1/2 pounds. It is balanced for one hand operation. It runs on 120V power supply and only draws 4 amps so, it can be run anywhere with a small generator. The WORX saw has good “cut line visibility”. It comes with a parallel cutting guide that adjusts from 0 to 7”. It also comes with a 24 tooth carbide tipped saw blade that gives a nice smooth cut. One item I believe it should come with but it does not is a saw dust collection bag. It does come with a vacuum hook-up adapter but, you are only going to use that in your work shop. I think this saw will be used 95% of the time away from a dust collection system. This saw runs at 3500RPM. The 90 degree vertical depth adjustment is 0 to 1-11/16” not 2” like stated on 3 sides of the box it comes in. The bevel adjustment is 0 to 45 degrees in one direction only. At 45 degree setting the thickest board you can cut is a maximum of 1”. All adjustments are easy to make using a standard knob and screw type lock with the exception of the parallel cutting guide. It requires using the hex key wrench that comes with it to lock it in place. It would be easier to use if there was a knob lock provided at this location.

Worxsaw, Plenty of Power, Cuts Straight, A+++++
Worxsaw, Works Great, Plenty of Power! Cuts very straight!! First off let me say this is not a bad saw at all. I can see it having tons of uses around a shop or garage. It's small and compact but cuts through 2x4's and hardwood sheets without any issues of losing power etc. I went ahead and made a rough little shelf for my shop, about 4ft in length. It cut with no issues at all, and straight as can be! It fits your hands really well, and it's very easy to cut with. I gave the saw 4 stars, only because I like really high quality on my tools. This just had a couple of things that look like they may not hold up long term, the saw safety guard for instance, the little plastic lever that allows you to move the guard off the blade, is just a thin plastic and one good drop would break it off, (in my opinion). It's nothing major and wouldn't effect being able to use it. All the other parts look like they are pretty good quality. OVERALL: If you have smaller jobs or cuts to do, this would be Ideal for you, and it sure beats ripping out all your heavier tools for smaller jobs. It's a great little saw and I can use it for tons of things around my shop for sure! I would recommend this saw to any of my family or friends. It definitely fills a niche in the shop or garage atmosphere, and would be super for tons of jobs around the house or shop!

    Just right for DYI porjects
I selected this because I have a "Tim the Toolman" at home. grunt and all. He laughed at me when I opened it up. He laughed at me when I did a couple of cuts. I am making a raised garden and thought this would make my life a bit easier. My toolman stopped laughing. He got curious and "borrowed" it. He saw how easy it was to assemble, use and convenient to use for those smaller spaces a reg circular saw can not get close enough for. It has a guide, so straight cuts are easy. The allen wrench that come with it, fits into the handle for easy storage. We tried it on all sorts of wood. Soft and hard woods to sliced through like butter. It is limited to about 2 inches deep, so you must keep this in mind when choosing projects. We had some minor repairs we were "getting to". This worked well for several of them. Trimming off baseboards that that needed replacing and then trimming the new ones to fit again. cutting out old pvc to replace, making frames for some souvenirs we been collecting, walling off an area of the yard with lattice fencing, making holes for new electrical wiring. The size is great for those of us with smaller hands, but hubby says the smaller size also works very well for him. Less bulk to move. There are a cpl of detractions for the saw as far as my own preferences. 1. No bag to hold the saw dust. It does have an included directional attachment for vacuum, but that could get cumbersome., but I prefer not cleaning up the saw dust at all. Another detraction is that I tended to try working with material that really was too large for this little worker saw. Keep in mind that it does have limitations for those larger projects that actually need a full scale saw. I got my blade pinched a cpl times because of this. All in all a nice addition to our tools.

    Good light weight circular saw
Worx compact circular saw. What comes in the box? The saw, one 24 tooth carbide tipped wood blade, a parallel guide, a 90 degree pvc vacuum adapter, a hex key and the instruction manual. First impression is a light weight saw with a 4 1/2” blade and approximately 9' cord. A photograph on the side of the box shows the saw cutting a 2” deep kerf at 90 degrees, however this is inaccurate. The maximum depth of cut at 90 degrees is 1 11/16”. Maximun depth of cut at 45 degrees is 1 1/8”. The motor is rated at 4 amps which might not seem to be enough power but it works well partially due to the very thin kerf ( 1/16” ) blade. The saw weights just over 4 pounds and fits my fairly large hands comfortably. If your hands are on the smaller side you might want to try the saw before purchase. Depth of cut and bevel adjustments are well marked and functional. I tried the saw first on 2x4 stock which it cut cleanly with little if any strain on the motor. Next was plywood and again the saw preformed well. I did notice that the cut edge was not as straight as I would like. Possibly this was my error with a short blade or it could be the result of the very thin blade. Both cuts were made with a new blade, time will tell how long these thin blades will last. The Worxsaw is a light weight maneuverable saw designed to cut in places where a regular sized saw might not. This will not replace my full sized circular saw but it will complement it. Pros Lightweight Maneuverability Cost Cons Cheap plastic parallel guide

    Perfect addition
The package arrived promptly and was in great condition and the product was in excellent shape the Worx Compact Circular Saw is a great tool to have for so many jobs you have around the house it is a lightweight and easy to saw it is perfect for those smaller areas that a large saw would have trouble and works great for over head projects that need to be finished we used it to finish off some cuts needed on the carport and to trim some siding above the door in the shed it was so much easier than a normal skill saw that is big heavy and bulky and it cuts like a champ and was very easy to use with less wear and tear on the arms the worx compact circular saw only weighs about four pounds and four ounces so it is very comfortable to handle it came with a standard four and a half inch blade that cuts through a two by four inch stud with no problem we have not been able to use the saw for anything other than the wood so far but getting ready to add a new patio cover using metal and will be using this saw and I have no doubt that it will handle any surface we use it on the bevel capacity is zero to forty five degrees so you get the same angels as the larger versions it comes with an elbow adapter for a vacuum to collect the dust or saw dust which I collect to use for my own fire starters and for fake snow on yard decorations that I make for the holidays so this is a plus for me and I like doing some home improvements and touch ups this little saw is very handy to have on hand it has a cord that is about eight feet three inches long give or take a little and the body is just about fifteen inches long and has a standard shield guard for the blade it also has a safety switch to avoid unwanted accidental start when handling it or when laying it down it comes with the allen wrench to change the blade and a miter guide to keep a straight line it has thirty five hundred RPM (good) it has four amps equals 0.6 horsepower my only draw back is that it does not have a knob or handle to hold onto when cutting and that would help to make them straight cuts even easier all in all I really like this saw it has been a good addition to my do it yourself project tool shelf and would recommend to others.

    Great lightweight saw
In the past whenever I need to cut wood, I used a standard 7 ¼ inch circular saw. These are a little big and bulky when trying to cut smaller pieces of wood. The Worx saw is a compact circular saw. The blade diameter is 4 ½ inches. The unit is lightweight, and you can saw easily holding the unit in one hand. The saw has a cutting depth of up to about two inches, and you can adjust it to cut bevel cuts up to a 45 degree angle. There is a mark showing the cut line clearly. I tried using this on a small project I was working on, and I found it to work quite well. I never used one of these types of saws before, but I think from now on this will be my saw of choice instead of the larger, bulkier circular saw I normally used. Included are the saw, a 4 ½ inch blade, an allen wrench to attach the blade, a 90 degree nozzle to attach a vacuum or dust bag (not included), and a guide for ripping. It comes with a three year warranty to boot. This unit seems to be of fairly good build quality, and I am certainly happy with it. I don't know why I didn't buy one of these before.

    Very Powerful Little Saw
This is an amazing saw! It's compact, light, and very easy to use. The size of the handle is perfect for gripping. There are rubbery grips located conveniently on the handle to avoid slipping during use. The weight distribution is very comfortable as well. It cuts smoothly, too. The structure feels very solid, made with durable materials. It feels very well made! As a woman, it is not an intimidating tool either. I have no hesitation in using this as a beginner. It is great for small jobs like cutting plywood. It has great safety features, too. There is a switch at the bottom that you can turn on or off to prevent accidental use. There is a guard that goes over the blade automatically slides into place, too. The blade itself is surprisingly sharp! Perfect actually. There is also a guide near the blade to prevent drifting when in use, too. For such a small saw, it has a lot of power. The cord length for the plug is very good as well. The changing of the blade is very easy, too. For example, you can attach a vacuum hose or canvas bag to it to suck up dust as it cuts. Actually, there isn't much I can say that I DON'T like!! I highly recommend it!!

Great compact saw for woodworking projects
The WORX 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw is absolutely an amazing machine to do woodworking or carpentry. I have worked with table saws and larger circular saws before but this hand-held compact circular saw can do the job as well – or even better. The WORX 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw can be fine tuned for multiple cuts, angled cuts, and precision cuts to complete any projects. This compact circular saw comes with a manual that is easy to understand – no second guessing. I was fortunate enough to receive this compact circular saw because I wanted to work on a project for Halloween. I told the kids that I will make them a pumpkin stand so their decorated and carved pumpkins are not sitting on the ground. I can't tell you how well this WORX 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw cut down a broken wooden pallet into pieces with ease. I did not struggle or “fight” the saw while cutting. I worked on other circular saws before and majority of them jumps on initial startup when you turn them on. This compact circular saw is steady to where you can cut with precision and with less effort. This compact circular saw is lightweight and made with tough material – no cheap plastic or flimsy material. So far, I have been very satisfied with all the WORX products I have purchased and received in the past. The Halloween pumpkin stand is just the beginning but there are still more projects to do and other woodworking ideas for this coming holiday. I am already planning on working on a lot cool ideas and the WORX 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw will definitely help me all the way. I highly recommend the WORX 4-1/2” Compact Circular Saw for all your woodworking project. I'm definitely satisfied because WORX is a brand you can trust.
