A decent new Grimlock mold
I was really looking forward to new dinobots, and these even combine, so I had to have Grimlock. Sadly, the triple change feature (robot, T-Rex, torso) does leave him a bit lacking in all modes. The bot mode is a bit out of proportion: his legs are rather small compared to his chest. The dino mode has a strange tail, and the combiner torso seems a bit lanky/thin for a huge dinobot combiner. But overall it's a good effort and a nice toy overall.

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/24/2023better than black mamba figureim going to buy this figure and i personally am looking for all the dolls they Are NOT dolls mom action figures ok gezz hahahahaha ok but for real i think that this is going to be better than the black mamba oversized pack i regret buying (because they all broke before i even combined them) and the combinig feature dosen't even work! but i think that this will be a great buyrome

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/26/2018A good representationThis is an excellent update to the classic Grimlock figure. I initially was a bit on the fence as i was concerned that making him a combiner torso would compromise the figure in some way but it really didn't at all. The only downside being that Grimlock does not come with his signature weapons. Besides that nitpick though this is an excellent figure.PS

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/16/2018Why no Sword???The figure itself is great. I love the fact the Dinobots combine. I just don't understand why he has no sword of his own. I understand the combiner "feet" are supposed to be some sort of weapon, but other voyager class figures have blasters or other signature weapons. Awesome figure with just a slight room for improvement.NickL

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/21/2018DINOBOTS RETURNFollowing hot on the heels of Hasbro's "TITANS RETURN" line (which brought back the classic "Head Masters" characters in all-new designs), the "POWER OF THE PRIMES" line follows a similar theme, recalling the Transformer's "TargetMasters" (smaller robots into weapons) and "Power Masters" (smaller robots into engines/powerpacks). One of the highlights of the POTP line is the return of the legendary DINOBOTS characters; dinosaur robots that can draw their toy origins back to late '70s / early '80s Japan, where they were a part of Takara Co.'s (Hasbro's partner in all things Transformers) DIACLONE line of toys. It is within Takara's DIACLONE line that a majority of the G1 Transformers first came to light, with some of the more "real-world object" Transformers - Soundwave, Blaster, Pistol-form Megatron, cassette robots, etc. - derived from their MICROCHANGE line, an offshoot of Takara's MICROMAN line, which eventually came to the US as the MICRONAUTS. The DINOBOTS were one of the most popular additions to the American Transformers line, and each transforming thunder lizard had its own group of fans. But none was more popular than the T-Rex-styled 'bot, GRIMLOCK. This new version of GRIMLOCK features all-new tooling and transformation design, and is larger than its previous incarnation. This apparent growth spurt becomes apparent when you realize that, unlike the classic DINOBOTS. the POTP versions are all part of a "combiner" group, with GRIMLOCK serving as the main torso of the combined form. Currently, GRIMLOCK, SWOOP (Pterodactyl), and SLUG (Triceratops) are available, with SLUDGE (Brontosaurus) and SNARL (Stegosaurus) coming in the next assortment release. Also available is SLASH (Raptor) who, as far as I can tell, does not serve as an element of the final combiner form... but heck, he's a DINOBOT too, so you know, you should get him too. GRIMLOCK and the rest of the new era POTP DINOBOTS will appeal to fans/collectors of the classic G1 line, and also their kids, who naturally love dinosaurs.OldManPreviews
