A beautiful product inside and out!
When my package arrived I was elated! I am a fan of the Pioneer Woman to begin with so imagine my surprise when I was blessed with an opportunity to receive this product. Not only did a significant amount of thought go into the packaging and brand messaging of the cast iron Dutch oven. This product is carefully crafted to every minute detail. The weight of it is heavy. The framework is durable and sturdy. This product has the potential to have longevity in my household. I haven't a clue as to what dish should christen my new Dutch oven first. However, I appreciate the fact that the product can be used in the oven as well as on the stovetop. The brand messaging of the Pioneer Woman is on every loose peace of paper, every label, and is emblazoned on the lid. The lid contains a silver daisy top, which is replaceable. Enclosed in the packaging is a black replacement top. You will need a screwdriver to remove the replacement top. Instructions on how to maintain and care for the product is included in addition to a small recipe book. This product is extremely large in diameter and circumference. Inside the Cast Iron Dutch oven is cream colored enamel. Although this product is non-stick it is recommended to rub a little oil inside.

    A heavyweight!
I was very pleased with the quality of the 3 qt cast iron pot that I bought this 5 qt also hoping that it would be a little lighter in weight to my 5 qt Staub cast iron pot. I love cooking with cast iron but washing it - is so difficult because of the weight. Well...this PW 5 qt. Cast iron pot is just a wee bit lighter but not by much. This pot with lid is 12.2 lbs vs my Staub which is 12.4 lbs. I'll probably still keep it since it's so pretty but as for my initial hope of it being much much lighter than the Staub - its obviously not. For those who want to try cooking in cast iron - I do recommend going for PW - both for the price and bec its gorgeous!

    Very beautiful
The weight of this surprised me. It is so heavy. Even the cover is heavy. I have the red and it is so vibrant. Guaranteed to bring life back into your humdrum kitchen. Two handle knobs included. Easy to swap. A silver, stainless steel daisy and a black, hard plastic, plain one. The instructions claim that the stainless steel knob will/may become discolored with intense heat. The embellishments on both the pot and the cover is glorious. I kept on the silver daisy knob while cooking on my stovetop. No discoloration but I will not do it again. I kept it on so that my judgmental guests can ooh and ahh to the fullest during the cooking process. This enameled cast iron pot is very well made, and it is quite heavy. The enameled coating can chip if dropped so please be careful. On my gas stove, I made a lentil soup. It cooked really well on medium high until I stirred it and my soup was sticking to the bottom. I lowered the heat, and still had sticking at the bottom. That is my only concern. I definitely recommend this cast iron pot to everyone. Great conversation starter. Use it to bake, cook, season meat, etc. Versatile and gorgeous. Thank you Walmart Spark Reviewer for allowing me to try this wonderful product. Pioneer woman brand is known for quality products.

    Wonderful Dutch Oven
I received this product quickly and it was double packaged well. The Pioneer woman's 5qt Cast iron dutch oven is beautiful in red and performs wonderfully. The cast iron works very good. I was able to cook one of the best pots of spaghetti in a long time. I also cooked a roast with vegetables in the oven in the dutch oven and it came out super tender. The pot is not lite weight but pretty hefty which I like. I am enjoying what slow roasted cooking in cast iron is about again. This piece by the Pioneer woman is one I highly recommend especially if you like to cook with cast iron. This is also a beautiful show piece.

    Pretty Pot
I have been strictly using cast iron for years now and love it but when the enameled cast iron came onto the scene I was curious. I was excited to see this dutch oven was now available and decided to try it out. It is heavy, as expected, so handle with both hands. I love the bright vibrant red. I'm not a flower type person so I can take or leave the floral design on the lid. With that being said, I immediately changed out the spikey floral lid handle for the standard black round handle that they provide. To me the lid handle really hurts, so that went immediately. It's the usual cream color on the inside. The enamel is porcelain. The instructions are confusing because one sheet says you can use metal utensils as well as a steel scouring pad because you can't destroy it but another care paper said no metal because the enamel can be scratched. Hmmm. Too late because I had already cooked and cleaned it before I read the second set of instructions. I was boiling some chicken for my first use and I didn't like how much it boiled over. The lid does not form a tight seal so you have to crack the lid if you are boiling or even low boil with the pot full. It took some effort to clean, more than I expected when all I did was boil. That was the one down side for me. I got cast iron so that I wouldn't have to fight with cleaning pots and this definitely gave me flashbacks.

    Beautiful, versatile pan.
The Pioneer Woman Timeless Beauty Turquoise 5qt Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven w/ Embossed Lid Is a fabulous pan! It is very heavy as it is cast iron and all of the surfaces are coated -including the cooking surface so you do not need to worry about using tomato sauces. The inside coating is very value added for that reason and also because you can wash it easily. The coating releases stuck or burned on food. If you are very busy at dinner time like I am, it's not unusual for me to simmer sauces and get done stuck to the bottom of pans. This is NO problem with this pan as a soapy soak takes care of the problem. This can go from stove to oven as well so frees up my stove and I can keep food warm in my oven now. I can find no extreme cons. A minor drawback is that the coating on the decorative design on the pan top can chip, and I have 2 tiny chips already but instructions say to just oil over any chips where cast iron shows and it takes care of the problem. The chips do not in any way detract from the functionality of this versatile pan. I love it!
