Great Dutch Oven
How incredibly cute and functional are these things? Since phasing out the use of our microwave, we have been looking for a few small pots that I could use to quickly cook in and reheat food on a daily basis. I wanted something that was cute. And most importantly something lightweight and could be used to quickly heat up small, individualized portions of food for lunches and/or dinner. I found just what I needed in these dutch ovens. They have they cutest pattern. Lots of flowers and colors with a little country charm. They remind me of the pots my grandmother use to cook in when I was a kid. They are small, but just the right capacity to cook or reheat enough for one or two servings. They heat very quickly. These dutch ovens have been made with lightweight steel and covered in enamel. This makes them strong and they also heat and cool quickly. While this is a great feature, it can also pose a problem. The steel/enamel allows food to heat quickly. But it can also cause food to burn if you are not careful. I’d just keep temperatures low and heat things gently just until you get use to these pots. Follow other cleaning, cooking, and care instructions and these dutch ovens will serve you very well.

Little One In The Oven...........
THE PIONEER WOMAN ROSE SHADOW 2-PACK MINI DUTCH OVEN WITH LIDS- These cutie patootie baby pots are adorable. They require seasoning which of course is "conveniently" left out of the description of the items. They hold 4 (four) cups of liquid. That is with enough room left to place the top on. I measured it. So, yeah....... Pretty good for the size. They kind of sort of appear larger online than they are in hand. Not a total deal breaker though.  These are definitely great for "total alone livers". Limited spacing & dishes to be cleaned. Yay. They aren't heavy at all. I suspect the quality won't hold up forever or super long term with huge amount of heavy usage. They are definitely quite thin with no reinforced bottom. So, take it easy with heat temps & prolonged exposure. For now, I like the print & coloring. Very girly & pretty. Yay. Also, on the "IMPORTANT! Please read first." label, it says the materials are "ENAMEL ON STEEL" & it has instructions on creating/enhancing the ceramic non-stick surface,  cleaning, removing baked on/burnt food, metal utensil usage (allowed) etc. In closing, I hope they "serve" (LoL, get it?) their purpose. By the way, one of the ones I received has a gouge on the inside bottom. That would make it not able to be completely non-stick. A defect. Sooo, bummer for me. Aaaanyhoo, we'll see how they work. Well, moreso, the other undamaged one. Oh yeah, try for yourself & let me know what you think. Now, I gotta go because I gotta baby in the oven. *winks*

    Cute with a retro vibe
These look like what you might have found in my kitchen back in 197-something, except the colors have been updated. They hold about 2 cups comfortably and are perfect for small meals or small side dishes when you don't need a lot. Although I used the smallest element on my stove, I still felt like it was a bit too large for the mini Dutch oven. But I didn't have any issues and the soup I set to simmer all morning was perfect by lunch. Cleaning was easy, and I did wipe with a very thin coat of olive oil prior to using per the instructions.

    Mini Dutch Ovens
Oh my gosh, I wish I'd invested in one of these a long time ago. It is NOTHING like using regular pots. I don't have to turn my burners up as high, it heats so evenly, no hotspots, no burning, no cold centers. I went slow and low with my sauce today and it came out better than it has ever come out. This Dutch oven has made me a better cook and I put less effort into the meals. For example Pre-heat oven to 400, use some oil/shortening to coat the bottom and sides. Toss in Chicken of any kind and into the oven for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and add seasonings and then put back into the oven for 15 minutes. Makes dynamite meals easy! If the chicken is frozen add 20 minutes to the original time. This is my favorite way to do it. Always moist and delicious When I buy cookware and kitchen appliances I wait a 6-8 months to see if they hold up or fail. Knowing that enamel is very easy to chip I treat it like it is glass. I take extra care not to use metal utensils in them and never soak them in water for long periods of time before cleaning them. As with all cast iron I always heat them up slowly, never dry and never straight to high heat because that to can make the enamel chip or pop off. The same thing as heating them before cleaning them you need to allow them to cool down first..

    super cute
I have been a long time (distant) admirer of Pioneer Woman products. I like her show and her recipes but haven’t actually bought any of her products. I have ZERO experience with enamel on steel so I was a little apprehensive about these. However, I felt the same way about cast iron until I became familiar with it. Now cast iron is my FAVORITE way to cook and I hardly use much else besides that and my crock pot! I took a photo of these with a lime in it to show these are quite generous in size! Small enough to be a proper portion for someone but large enough to actually cook in. I made French onion soup. I followed the instructions regarding rubbing the oil first. Then I cooked the cut onions with a little butter on the stove-top. Once the soup base had properly simmered; I put cheese on top and popped these under the broiler to melt the cheese just right. It was the best cooking experience making this recipe ever! Perfect! The cheese came off the enamel without any problems (no baked on residue); so I didn’t need to use the baking soda to remove anything. I’m excited to use these on dishes where the heat preference varies between my husband and I- he likes it HOT and I do NOT! And, of course, these are SUPER cute!

Cook with caution - Pioneer Woman 2-pack mini dutc
Received from spark reviewer This set is really too cute to be used for coooking. The colors are very pretty and the size of the dutch oven – is compared to a serving size meant for two people the most. If you use both maybe 4 – 5 people total. The meal you prepare in this set will not be huge or for a lot of folks. Now, what I did notice – is the warning and “read pamphlet notices” when I first opened the box. The ovens must be treated before use. If not the ovens will get damaged. I read the pamphlet. These ovens can be used on the stove and in the oven. The first time I used it – I just did a test run. I boiled water in them. I wasn’t sure if I can honestly use a lot of long term direct heat on the ovens. I was afraid I would damage the exterior. I know sounds strange. But when you see the ovens, you will consider the same. They are very pretty and could be used more like a bowl. For this- I give it four stars. I believe in strong durable ovens for cooking and baking. This set is way too pretty for long and heavy term use. I could be wrong - I will have to wait and see. Thanks

    Cute AND functional
OK, they're definitely cute, in a country kitchen kind of way. The design and color scheme are quite nice. The functionality is difficult to figure out. They're smaller than a dutch oven, yet larger than your typical ramekin. - Can you possibly use them as canisters (tea bags, for example) - sure, they'd look really nice on any counter top. They're just not air-tight. - Can you cook in them - yup, but you have to think single-serve rather than family meal. - Can you put them in the oven - also yup, just not under the broiler. - Can you put them in the dish washer - not really, over time, it will harm the shiny finish. Speaking of the finish, it looks and feels like ceramic, but I think it's something else (perhaps an epoxy resin or a polymer of some sort??) They are also made of stainless steel (a portion of which is visible as the top rim of the bowl). Why mention this... because that means you cannot use them in a microwave. So what DO you do with them? Honestly, the first thought that enters my mind is a really delicious bowl of french onion soup. Bottom line, would I recommend them to others? Yes - but it will take a bit of thought as to how, exactly, you will use them. Their versatility is a little confusing.

THE PIONEER WOMAN ROSE SHADOW 2-PACK MINI DUTCH OV
I did meet my spectations. I have been wanting this collection from woman pioneer cookware. I really love this. This oven Shadow's are really beautiful, are the perf cr size just to cook enough or a small meal. At first didn't want to use them because the material looks so perfect and didn't want to them damage. But after a 3 times use still looking like new. I did fallowed the cleaning instructions the first time before use and after when I got a little bit of food letting on the them. Overall cheap price worth the money
