No more dry air
This was a help with our sleeping in dry cold air or warm dry air. Babygirl didn't wake up with dry nose and dry throat and no snoring.

Poor quality
It's basically a fan with water. The needle that tell to to replace the filter stays on change or in the red. The water tank is nice and easy to fill but the humidifier doesn't humidify the water so it doesn't matter how nice the take is. I have mine running in a small bedroom. I've had it running for almost 8 hours and the water level hasn't moved where my other units are at least down a quarter to half tank down. The settings for the fan has 1-2-3, loud-louder-and can't hear the tv or other people. The humidity has low-high but all it is, is air holes in the middle of the filter you can open and close. It really is just a cylinder filter sitting on a small bank of water with a fan on top. Really disappointed as I have a older different model of Holmes that I like and that's why I chose this one regardless of reviews. No big deal though, Walmart's return is a easy process and I'll just get a different brand. I hope this review helps you. It may work for others but I'm just not getting any humidity from the unit.

    Though it has a much better design water tank cap than the previous years, the speed control has changed from the normal low, medium, high settings into a difficult to turn control with settings of high, really high, and you'll be landing in Minneapolis in 20 minutes.

    Great fan but where's the mist???
    What does this do really?? I've had it for about 2 weeks. The mist is supposedly invisible but I honestly think this machine does not humidify anything. It's just a huge fan blowing. If you like white noise, this is for you. The fan blows up toward the ceiling.

    Holmes doesnt disappoint with this unit
    If you read reviews before buying here are the pros of this unit. Easy set up. Easy fill FROM THE TAP (no need to buy special water and lug from the store). Easy filter change. Easy clean. Had unit three weeks and hasnt needed filter change yet. Our location/setting gets two nights on a tank of water. We bought two of these and did not experience any vibrating like mentioned in other reviews. The only con thing I can say is the water will glub-glub occasionally when it pulls water from tank. It doesnt not wake me up but lighter sleepers may notice at first. Slight and if you want the moisture you can get used to it. We had a Holmes until from early 2000s. I researched all the new kinds online and came back to this one. You dont need all the bells and whistles! This one is reliable. I hope to get another twenty years from them! (Only use in winter)

    I've used Holmes humidifiers for well over 20 years but this one rattles when I turn it on. The rattling is coming from the motor because ive checked all the parts to make sure they are seated and fit correctly however I don't know how to fix a motor that rattles so I can't run it at night because it's bothersome.

    Perfect humidifier!
    i have a very large master bedroom that I use this in and it's the perfect size. It runs all night on one tank and it's very quiet. It still has that fan sound to it, which I like because I have to have some sort of noise to fall asleep to, but it's not really loud like some humidifiers are, even on the highest setting it's still quiet. My room feels great and I can definitely breathe better with the moist air.

    So helpful for dry apartment!
    I've only owned this product for a week now so can't really give a long term purchase review but for the week I've had this humidifier, I have to say, what a change in the air in my apartment! First of all I was waking up every morning stuffed up with a somewhat bloody nose. No more!! I just run this every evening when I get home from work for a few hours and actually turn it off at bedtime. I don't even find it necessary to run it all night! I wake up without being all stuffed up and have to say that the static inside was awful! I haven't noticed getting shocked since I've run it either. I like the fact it has a little "window" on the front that indicates when the filter will be need changing. Still in the "good" area so no worries about that but I've priced the filters and they seem to run around $10 so I'm hoping one lasts quite awhile before it needs changing. This is definitely a good purchase if you have dry air. It's not silent, but not loud enough to be bothersome at all.

    Works great
    This humidifier is great, and easy to use. I filled the tank, placed it on the base, and turned it on. It took a few days of playing with the settings until I found a comfortable level of humidity - For me it's low speed with medium humidity output. Filling the tank is easy, and it's not heavy to carry/lift - Less than 5 lbs.

    Great Humidifier
    I've had and used this humidifier at night for the past few weeks and it is excellent! You can adjust whether it runs longer or humidifies more, which is a nice feature. One tank of water will last me two nights on the "runs longer" setting. I plan to use this in my son's room when he is born in a few weeks, but until then I get to benefit from it. I am very happy with this purchase and am considering buying another one.
