Perfect!!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a lockable cabinet to keep everything secure. I wanted a cabinet that would fit into a closet, and at 21" wide, this is perfect. The build appears to be very high quality, and the box and shipping material was enormous. The locking mechanism feels really solid. Set up of the shelves was really easy. I believe the pre drilled holes for the racks are too high. It doesn't work well for shorter rifles, but this can be easily mitigated. I am going to drill 4 new holes about 6" below the factory holes and we will be good to go. I also ordered the smaller pistol cabinet and I am just as happy with that one also!!

I wish there were a zero star option.
Order arrived 4 days later than stated, and came locked as stated on one of the stickers on the outside of the door. Numerous dings, dents and scratches all over which may have been the delivery company's (Fedex) fault. Biggest problem was it arrived with no key, no instructions and no screws to attach the enclosed shelves.

    Do not ship. Great cabinet.
Do not have this item shipped. Pickup at store!! The cabinet gets 5 stars. The rest of my transaction gets 0 stars. The cabinet is great for a small gauge sheet metal unit. A good amount of storage room. Lock is adequate. Remember this is not a safe but is secure. Unit came with foam, divider and shelves that I did not use. The shipping was terrible. Packaging just as bad. I is packaged in a thin wall cardboard box. Provides scratch protection but noting else. My cabinet looks as if it fell off the truck all 6 sides are dented.

    Stay away
If you're like me and you have to order this online because they don't carry them in the store when you receive it chances are it's going to look like this one I ordered two and they both were damaged so bad they looked like they were dropped from 50 foot cliff I would rate this negative stars if I could!

Going to use it, disappointed damaged on arrival
It was delayed for two extra days and the box appears to have been damaged in transit. When I got it unpacked, there were two big dings on one side. Overall it doesn't affect the functioning of the cabinet, but the delivery could have been handled way better. I need to keep it as processing an exchange on my end would not be worth another wait and gambling to see if I get one in slightly better condition.

    Decent, but damaged during shipping
First time I ordered this it was damaged in transit and fedex had to send it back for I received it and I was refunded. Before I could reorder it the price went up about thirty dollars higher. Walmart customer service was great though and adjusted the price for my send order. There was still some damage from shipping though. Overall decent cabinet for the price, and really anything under 200 is not going to get you much these days. Pros: holds what it needs to for not a lot of money Cons: thin sheet metal feels so thin you could probably cut it with garden shears. This is not going to keep anyone out if they really want to get in it. Someone could break in using nothing but a screw driver most likely. Dents and bends from delivery (see photos) One key is bent and will not work. Many other reviewers have the same complaint. Shipping packaging/protection needs to be improved.

Love the product! Not the packaging.
Before I suggest any improvements to this product, I'll lead with THANK YOU to Stack-On and Walmart for bringing this product (GCB-18C) to market. I have seen no other product for securing firearms in a controlled environment, out of sight, that is even remotely close to this one in price-per-gun. This cabinet is fabricated from 20-gauge steel (the door may be a bit thicker), spot welded, bead blasted and painted brown. The door fastens top, bottom and left side from a lock on the left side of the door. Some assembly is required. This is good because a variety of configurations are possible: 1) 18 barrel rests with no partitions or shelving; 2) 18 barrel rests with center partition and top shelf; 3) 9 barrel rest on either side of the central partition, with one to four additional shelves on the other side of the partition (along with the two usable barrel rests in front of the shelving). I use the second configuration to hold a minimum of 18 long arms in the rests, up to four of which can have mounted scopes and/or pistol grips, thanks to the four supplied barrel-rest standoffs. The top shelf holds a full width stack of boxes while leaving a few inches in the depth direction for long barrels to extend the top of the cabinet. I also hang pegboard on the inside of the door, being careful not to obstruct the lock mechanism, on which I hang pistols and accessories. Holes and mounting hardware are provided for securing the cabinet to floor, ceiling or wall. I end up sealing all holes and seams with caulk or tape, and the door with weather strip, to achieve a controlled-humidity environment with silica-gel packet(s). Now for the suggested improvements. The three cabinets I received each had shipping damage. Most of this problem appears to be due to the packing strategy: The cabinet is boxed with eight corners of crumbly styrofoam, the shelving hardware is boxed separately and placed along an outer wall of the cabinet, and the keys are bagged and taped to the side of the cabinet. None of the keys survived shipping in the bag, and I was amazed they remained inside the multiply-torn cabinet boxes. Each cabinet had corner and edge damage. Some was due to steel-on-steel penetration on the packaging. Most was due to the inevitable buckling of 20-ga. steel under its own weight during even minimal drop (presumably a few inches -- especially after the very first such bump destroys the corner styrofoam). At least some of each package of shelving also displayed such inertial damage, all of which was easily remedied by the appropriate application of vice grips on hardware slats over the affected sheet metal. I think much of this shipping damage could be avoided by securing the shelving box inside of the cabinet and replacing the cheesy cabinet corner cushions with closed-cell foam (or well-engineered cardboard) versions. As for the keys? There must be a better way.

    So disappointed
I read all of the other reviews that said it came dented before purchasing and thought that I would get lucky...NOPE!!! First the package came a week after its expected arrival date. You can tell that whoever delivered our package did not care because the box was completely messed up, to where I could already see the scratches on the safe. Once the box was opened we realized that there were multiple scratches on the safe and we couldn't get the door to open because there was a big dent in it. I was really disappointed because this was a gift for my husband and we now have to return it and look for another, but I do know that we will not order from this company again

    Easily Damaged During Shipping
I sent the first cabinet back because of damage during shipping. All of the Styrofoam padding in the box was broken upon arrival. (see pictures) The cardboard box itself was thin and not very sturdy. I returned it and requested a replacement. Kudos to Wal-Mart for making the replacement process easy. The replacement cabinet also came with some damage including several shelves getting bent. However, because the metal is pretty thin, it was easy to bend back into place well enough to be used. The damage to the cabinet was not bad enough this time to make me return again. I can live with what I have now, but the point is that I should not have to. If the supplier did a better job with quality of shipping material, much of this could be prevented. Until then, I cannot recommend this item/supplier for purchase. However, if you do purchase, I recommend you follow the instructions and anchor it to the wall, which will make it feel more rigid.

Nice finish, smooth lock, very pleased.
Absolutely happy with the condition it arrived in, after being apprehensive about the negative comments on them being damaged in shipping. Loved the size, the powder coating, and how smooth the lock is. I also setup the left side shelf configuration. One thing that I didn't like were the instructions. Just as a warning, the instructions are terrible. It took a few reconfigurations before everything fit. Worth the money in all respects, though.

    Great Buy
My first worry was when I opened up the beat up box and the keys were not in the bag, thankfully they were still in the box. Yes it had a ding in the corner. Nothing I could not live with. Overall very sturdy once you add in the shelves. Foam to cover each shelf was a plus. It was more effort to put together than I thought it would be but well worth it. My wife can finally open the bottom drawer on our dresser. It was full of ammo, lol. I put in on a small outdoor table I had, then anchored to the wall. I added battery powered motion detection LED's to add some light when I open it. Plenty of room for rifles and other stuff. Shipping was not 2 days, but 4 days. No big deal. I'm happy with purchase.
