Hard Pass
After reading reviews and those who've even had their tubs/sinks hands and such stained from this dye I decided to give it a go anyhow. I took precautions. Of course always wearing gloves even when rinsing the dye, putting Vaseline around my hairline and on ears and neck. I also put cling wrap in my sink and kept cleaning product and paper towels near. Thankfully I did not have any staining to anything. Now as for my hair. I was excited for blue! However, that is not what I got. It was more black at the top followed by purple. After washing my hair about 4 times with sulfate free shampoo a majority of the dye has washed out. Now a few weeks later I have a couple random streaks of blue that appeared. Not sure why as nothing has changed in my hair care. I would save your money, time and hair do not buy this brand.

    Love this color !! Love have used it for years only red I use I get so many compliments and. It! I do add a little extra to Lyft it of developer 40 to the bottle like 3 cap full I pour a little out and then add! Just a tip you can get a huge bottle on that huge website everyone goes to for less then 10..

    Works best for brunettes.
    I love this color so much we bought it twice. The first time we dyed it right on her brown hair the second time we bleached her hair first and it came out more of a red than a burgundy so we liked it better on her brown hair. Color stay for a while before faded to pick.

    This is the only hair dye I will ever use!
    I have used this product for years! When I first started using it, I made a mess and dyed my tub, towels, pillow cases, everything red for a long time. It would look like I killed someone when I took a shower. But now when I rise the dye out (in the kitchen sink) I use a small amount of color lock shampoo, rinse it, and then color lock conditioner mixed with the included conditioner and I never have issues with color bleeding or transfer. It doesn't dull the vibrancy of the color or make it fade faster. In fact, the only reason I have to dye it again is because my roots have grown out too much! There is no safer, easier to use, more beautiful hair dye that is actually good for your hair! I love SPLAT! I dye hair for a hobby and this is the brand I use on everyone, including my 11 year old daughter that just got purple streaks in her hair.

    5 stars for longevity…. I’ve had the Jade in for a month and it still hasn’t faded. This pic is 3 weeks after dying, no touch ups or anything. I’m almost starting to get concerned. Gorgeous color though!!! -1 star because it stains your hands for several washes after, and I look like a zombie.

    Best purple hands down.
    I have been coloring my hair for 30 years. The splat midnight series has the best color stay of any brand I've used, including salon only colors. I have unfortunately been unable to find my midnight tanzinite In store recently. I've been using that particular color for several years after switching from Pravana. It's the best purple I've ever used. It stays and looks amazing even when fading. Please never stop making it.

    There wasn't an option for this exact colour but in case you were looking for a review of Midnight Violet, this is it. Avoid this hair dye, my hair my look pretty purple but it's mostly leftovers from my previous dye. If you look at the roots they're kinda grey purple like I left purple shampoo on bleached hair too long. It washed out by the time I did a rinse to prep my hair for the dye I had to go over this whole mess with. I'm kinda broke atm and new to the USA was trying not to spend a lot on dye so gave this a chance.Expensive mistake now I wasted money on this AND had to buy more costly product I was avoiding originally. Not only was this a mediocre and basically temporary colour, the consistency was like water, it went on my scalp and was dripping into my eyes within seconds. I've been dark purple for around 7 years used many different brands this is the worst experience BY FAR. Extremely unimpressed.

    One of my favorite colors!
    I'm 75 years old and I started using Splat when I retired at 63. I use almost all the colors and I get so many positive comments from strangers, a majority of young people. Splat makes my soul happy!

    Beautiful yet messy.
    hands down the best color for my dark hair. The problem you will run into is it doesnt last long and it stains everything it lands on. i still use it regardless but its a mess.
