A55 Walkman.
I purchased this dap player a couple of weeks ago. So far, pretty good. 1st thing is battery life-as advertised. It lasts a long time. Though Idk about the 45hr thing? But, it does last about 3days, before I have to charge. 2nd, it does play via bluetooth. As far as volume control. Pry some of the features, you wont notice. Like some the settings for sound, eq, surround etc. For some reason, it doesnt play various features via bluetooth earphones. But it will play it loud. Like, if you travel alot by airplane? A great device. 3rd, when you connect corded head phones to this? It will spring to life. All of the sound features are availible, and its magnificent. Great sound, and allegedly. It will last a little longer-(battery) 4th, Sd card, pending your Library. Works flawlessly. The A55, you can format on the device. Which is cool. Then its drag and drop. Playlists? you pry should make a list via pen an paper. Because you really cant tweek or alter song order from the device. To my knowledge. Ive played with it and doesnt seem to be able to. The radio feature? I have not tried. I dont plan to, unless I run out of my own downloads. Finally, it is alittle small. I wasnt prepared for tht havn came from an iphone 11 max. Overall? I think its a great device, if you just want to go off grid and just play your music. No social networking. No movies-video, no textn-phone calls. Just think of it as a mp3/dap player that has great sound, both corded and bluetooth. Ihope you wont be disappointed? Different likes and all. Good luck and stay safe. ColoDJ

Product? GREAT! Music Center App? HORRIBLE!
The Walkman operates great, sounds great, and isn't hard to navigate. However, the app you need to get music into your Walkman (Sony Music Center) is cumbersome, not intuitive, nor easy to navigate. Error messages for songs that are unrelated to the files but directly related to a problem with the app I have not been able to fix, and Sony does not offer adequate help channels to solve these problems. If I can't play my music on your product, then, we both have a problem.

Won't pair with blue tooth ear buds
I bought this device to replace an old MP3 player so I could listen to music while at work. I've owned walkman and a discman in the past and have never had a problem with Sony products. I've followed all online instructions for the walkman and did not help. It wouldn't pair with my Samsung ear buds so I purchased a pair of Sony WF-XB700 ear buds hoping a Sony Walkman could pair to Sony ear buds. But it won't pair to them either. And yes, I followed online guide for them as well. It can't even locate them when they are lying side by side. It works great with wired headsets, but that's not exactly convenient and not why I bought it. I'm about ready to send them back, because what's the point?

Great music player - but expected more from Sony
No doubt a capable little player from Sony that has awesome sound and has a long lasting battery. However I expected more from Sony, especially from a niche product that are trying to compete with modern phone music players. Here's of the things you might consider: - EU volume limiter that makes the device sounds quieter than my phone. Luckily there's a mod that removes this. - No support for wired earphones media-controls/remote. - You can't send files to the unit from your phone via Bluetooth. - No option to search/filter songs lists. Want a song, better get used to that slow scrolling. - No option to jump to artist/album from the now playing screen. Want to listen to more from that artist, tough luck, better get used to scrolling through your long lists. - Equalizer settings doesn't apply to Bluetooth headphones. That good sound is only for your wired headphones! - Proprietary cable - better keep that thing safe or you'll wont be able to charge or connect your device. - No firmware updates/support. Buy one of our more expensive product, loser! You buy these overprized music players and it doesn't even come with headphones lol. Luckily Sony is still kind enough to give you one of their own proprietary charging cables. The product is NOT bad, but it's not great either. It's just average. It lacks basic features that can be found on most if not all modern media players. I expected more from Sony and implementing a volume limiter on a music device is just like shooting yourself in the foot. Especially when competition like Fiio are selling devices that will blow your brains out with it's volume loudness. I wouldn't have bought this device if volume limiter hack wasn't available - it's a huge deal breaker. I think it's time for Sony to get down from their high horse and let someone else be the king of music.

    What you really need!
I have had alot of audio players. This one is excellent. The construction is well thought out. The operation is smooth and usable. The audio and feature quality is perfect without being overdone and costly. Other players are too expensive or just plain junk. Sony has always made great gear that gets the job done for the right price. Cheers!

    Awesome little music machine!
Just got this for my birthday after looking at it for over a year. It is so easy to use - very logical interface. The music sounds great, the database management system is the easiest I've ever used. Would definitely recommend

Best MP3 player available for Windows
With limited MP3 Player products available this is the best option for non-apple. Although even Apple no longer makes a basic MP3 player with a screen (cancelled the Nano Model, the touch is closer to a phone). The Sony works well with Windows Media Player for transferring music and podcasts. Although you need Grover podcast player to download the podcasts and then Media player will sync with the download folder.

    Horrible Music Center software
The required software is so slow and cumbersome, it really ruins the unit. It is so frustrating with the crashes and the waiting on the software, I would not reccomend any of the sony units that use this software. Sony should be embarrased it is that bad

    It's still a Walkman!
The A50 feels great, just like my previous Walkman player (see photo), which I have been using for over a decade. Sound and build quality also seem great. I am using the dedicated Music Center program to transfer albums to the player. The problem is that it is not always easy to get the cover arts displayed on the device, even though I would manually select them from the properties in Music Center. Sony, please fix either the Music Center for PC or the Walkman firmware! Also the UI could be further updated for stability, but over all it is pretty good the way it is now. I actually prefer the proprietary UI to Android, as I don't really find Android devices likable. So please continue developing the Walkman UI! Regarding the WM port cable: it is mechanically sturdy and gets you extra features like line out audio... I don't care if it's not USB-C at all.
