Bummer
Hey, it's cheap. I knew that going in. I didn't expect the sound I got from my Panasonic shelf unit that died after 19 years. It was passable. The CD player worked and sounded okay. The cassette play didn't work. I wish there would have been more info in the description. It will only play tapes that are purchased. It won't play any you might have made. I was sad to see that but I only have a few of those so I could have accepted it but it wouldn't play any of my others. It's going back and now I'm real Sony shy.

    little but loud
i just recieved this little cd player and I'm well pleased. I compared alot of portable players in this size and in the end, I went with this one even though it did cost a bit more because I have had really good Sony players in the past This one has a mega bass boost that really hits the louder the volume is. I prefer more treble, and would like more in this player, but for its size, the sound is pretty good overall. The louder the volume, the better it sounds and it doesnt lose much sound quality at max volume which impressed me . I purchased it exclusively for the cd feature and its portability. I may use the radio but the cassette player is a feature Ill probably never use so i cant comment on it. Its perfect size to take anywhere. battery option as well

    Would not purchase again.
Bought the Sony brand because I had good luck with their products in past but was highly disappointed. After just a few cassettes it quit playing them so I returned it which was difficult. Walmart said I had to call Sony and Sony refused to honor warrenty. Finally Walmart did replace it but the replacement did the same thing with cassette player and on this one the CD's dragged and skipped. Very disappointed in Sony. Wi;; not buy this brand again. Returned this one and got my money back. The second return was a little easier but they didn't want to at first but finally did. I even purchased the 2 year protection plan and it was an act of congress to get them to honor it.

    It fulfills its intended purpose
I recently bought a new Mustang. CD player was not available. That is my primary purpose for this boombox. I connect it to the car's audio system. Problem with this is that there is no way to connect the car's power USB or other car accessory power source to the boombox. Must use batteries, which is expensive. So when the boombox is used in the car, it will be used only during vacations to play CDs and maybe some cassettes. There is no USB port for outgoing music either. Had to buy an adapter headphone plug to USB plug for this purpose. As a boombox, you get what you pay for. When used in the house, it will be a radio for the kitchen and a CD and cassette player when connected to my office's stereo (headphone plug to RCA plug adapter cable was needed for that, too). The "Megabass" feature adds some bass. But the name of the feature exaggerates the extent to which bass is increased. This is not a high quality stereo system. But then, when you consider the price, it is not reasonable to expect that. When connected to my car's audio system, or to my office's stereo, the quality of the sound is much better than using the boombox's speakers.

    Great product
Great that Sony still makes boom boxes with a cassette deck. In being able to listen to some of my old cassette tapes. I like how everything works with no problems. It's easy to use for the younger generation.

    Great features
I bought this a month ago and I am very happy with the purchase. The price point was good. The ability to play both CDs and cassettes was a major factor in my purchase decision and I have not had any issues with any of the Sony products I have owned in the past

    Amazing!
I ordered this and got it shipped to my house. I had my eyes on it for a while. i decided to traet myself as I have a good collection of CDS and Cassette Tapes. The sound quality is amazing. I belive you can put a aux cord in it for a louder sound experience. Very easy-to-use and set up. My only complaint I guess was I wish the company made a remote for the unit because you have to do it all by hand. It has a cord or you can use batteries to use. I would recommend unsure as why their are so many negative reviews about this unit?

    What has happened to Sony?
This should never have had the Sony name attached to it. The sound quality is unacceptable and noisy. I cannot play tapes due to the noise from the tape mechanism. Th volume and bass controls are useless. Sony used to be the Rolls Royce of audio. Now it seems that Sony attaches its name to any piece of garbage that they think they can make a profit off.
