Works great
I got this to store all my family photos. It transferred photos faster and did not lag like a lot of the little hard drives that I have tried. It connected fast to the computer and was easy to instal.

I expected more than 3 months from a 3.5" HDD
I expected this drive to last much longer than 3 months. It worked great for the first 2.5 months. Then yesterday when i go to backup my PC to the drive. It decides to drop out the write speed and make the whole PC go unresponsive. I couldn't do anything within Windows Explorer. I had to unplug the drive to make the PC respond. I plug it back in to find that Windows doesn't even recognize it anymore and the drive makes a constant thumping sound.

    Extremely pleased!
    This is my second 8Tb Seagate expansion drive. If they weren't a good product, I wouldn't have made the same mistake twice. EASY to use, even for anyone who isn't a computer nerd. EVERYTHING is included in the box to make it work. All that's required is a USB port on the unit in which you're plugging it in. Even the backup software is included.

    Awesome Expansion Storage
    I've been using this as my Xbox expansion storage and it is awesome! So much space and it's FAST! Small enough so that I can hide it behind my tv. Stores all my games without any issue. Would definitely recommend.

    This is an excellent storage device. I have had no problems with it. It is reasonably fast, quiet, runs cool and has been very dependable with not an issue during the weeks I have had it. I have used 4 terabytes so far on this drive without an issue. It has been very dependable and a very good drive. Nice case, good feel and solid plastic - much nicer than the case for a WD external drive, for example. Comes formatted with GUID partition scheme, full support for Macs, more realistic for use as an external drive with Windows. Overall, I'd give this a recommendation if your looking for a sizeable external HDD.

    The best you can buy
    This Seagate Expansion desktop - 8TB hard River is way,better than any others. The writing speed is out of this world ,combined with a nearly indestructable construction ,no others even come close. I am using it for business stuff right now, however I plan to get another one to use for family stuff ,pictures,videoes,etc after seeing how great they are. 8TB is more than I will ever use,I'm sure. And it's so affordable compared to other large size memory expansion hard drives. I would highly recommend this to anyone who want a backup of important data, or just more room to store data.

    I love this Seagate Desktop Expansion Drive. It stores all your digital files and images . Loads them up quickly and it's easy to use. It does what it was meant to do. Backup software is also included. The design is so nice you can put it in plain sight and it doesn't look bad.

    All the storage space we need!
    My husband and I have been looking to get an external hard drive for awhile. I am so glad we got this one. It doesn't take up a lot of space. It was incredibly easy to get set up and start using it. We mainly have it for photos and videos that were on CDs previously. It was so easy and quick to move the files over. My husband was getting his games installed from his X-Box and he said it was simple and the file transfers took no time at all. There is so much room on this hard drive that I feel like we'll be set on storage space for a very long time, if not forever! We would definitely recommend purchasing this external hard drive.

    Works great, I transferred everything from my computer onto it and my computer works a lot faster ! I would highly recommend especially for someone who saves a lot to their computer and uses their computer for multiple different things! I save a lot of pictures and documents to my computer so this is definitely a must have for us!
