47 Pencils??
47 pencils! I could tell instantly it seemed like one was missing so i counted them and sure enough only 47. Theres no excuse for this. Utterly ridiculous. And I was going to give these as a gift. Not now. And the way the plastic case is put together and ‘snaps’ is very poor design. Trying to unsnap to fold the whole case comes apart and the pencils spill out. Maybe thats how one got lost or someone returned incomplete and thats what I was sent. I ordered another set of 12 Prismacolor and was sent a different set of 12. Ordered a set of 24 was told out of stock and given cheap Crayolas instead. The ones I ordered still show in stock too Ugh. Shouldnt be this way.

    Amazing pencils
These are simply the best coloring pencils ! I love using the these. My daughters and I sit together and color and doodle using them. Prismacolor scholar color pencils are soft highly pigmented and easy to use to shade for definition along with a full range in the color spectrum ! I will buy these again!

Good for artists, young and old
Prismacolor colored pencils are great for a variety of projects including sketching and drawing. All of the basic colors are included in this set as well as some flesh tone colors that are not common in sets this size. My young artists loved these! They color quality of these is great.

    Excellent for adult coloring books
I bought this Prismacolor Scholar 48 colored pencils set to use on my first adult coloring book and they serve the purpose very well. Good quality and nice assortment of colors. The core is soft and can be used for shading, as well. I am glad I read a review on a coloring book and it said Prismacolor colored pencils are awesome so this is how I got to buy them. Great price at Walmart and quick delivery. Love to shop online with you guys, thank you!

    Awesome pencils
I have all the different types of the prismacolor pencils such as Premier, scholar, verithin etc. and must say these are the closest to the Premiers. The Premiers are very very pricey as all you coloring fans know. I purchased the verithin, the regulars etc, before purchasing the Scholars and let me tell you for this Walmart price the Scholars are amazing, and best of all they do not break as easily as the Premiers when sharpening. Definitely great buy for 48 count.

    should be priced lower
i do like them, but i don't see why they are so expensive. a few of the colors are brighter, more intense than the crayola or crazy art pencils, but i do not see any reason for them to be so much more expensive than the others. sometimes i think they are too waxy and i find myself using my crayola and crazy art pencils a lot more than the prismacolors. shading seems easier with my old pencils and blending is about the same. i love some of the prismacolor colors that you can't get with the others, tho. I'm glad i paid a sale price and not full price. note, these are the Scholars i'm talking about...i have not tried the Premium yet, but i do plan to.

great color selection - superior quality
watch for price changes, the day we looked at them it was 22.00, then when we needed to order them it was over 24.00 and now, today it is 20.23 - if you want them buy them today as the price is better. They are good quality.

Much better than what i was using
Had seen these advertised on TV and when they were marked down for Xmas sales, I couldn't resist. I don't feel like I have to press as hard and they seem brighter. The 48 count gives me a good variety as well. Will have to see how long they actually last. So far, so good.

    GREAT VALUE
My child is Starting art class and i wanted her to be outfitted with all the things she needed. I understand that prismacolor is the best in the industry, but can be very pricey. I was able to afford this on my limited budget.
