Recent DVD sound problem
I have owned this model since July 2015, performed as expected. The DVDs played in it are rented from Redbox, not illegal copies. Today, Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2, about half way through playing this DVD, the sound is muted and in a rectangle in the center of the screen is a message: "Audio outputs temporarily muted. Do not adjust the playback volume. The content being played is protected by Cinavia and is not authorized for playback on this device. For more information, see http://www.cinavia.com. Message Code 3." I then played this DVD in my ASUS Win 7 desktop PC with a ASUS DVD player, and this problem did not happen. This is the second DVD that this Samsung unit does not read the copyright digital watermark on a DVD rented from Redbox since March 2016. I contacted Samsung tech support and did not get help in this matter.

HORRIBLE
We got this for Netflix.. however, We only get to watch maybe 30 minutes or so before it starts freezing up! No power lights so you never know if its on or off.. We have to unplug it and restart it every hour in order to watch netflix while my son sitting on the couch beside me is streaming perfectly ON HIS CELL PHONE.. SMH.. such a waste.. Im returning this product!

    Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player
It performs well; however, there is no light to show whether the unit is on or off which is bothersome.

    Disappointed
Bought one of these units yesterday. Sound worked fine, the disc player worked, but when I tried the apps (Netflix, Youtube, etc) I kept getting this message saying " System Time Updating - Please try again later. I updated the software in the unit and got the same thing, System Time Updating. I ran a check on the network and it said it is working fine. I have the unit hard wired, not wireless. Everything else I have hooked to the network works fine. Same thing this morning so I returned it to the store. I have a Samsung Plasma TV and it would not recognize the player. I hooked the player to my computer monitor via HDMI with no problem. I like Samsung products but I would not buy another blu-ray player from them.

    Does Not Work
I'm not sure why people keep voting down honest reviews. It is true that this dvd player does not often work. My parents got this for me as a gift and within two weeks, it would simply not turn on. We can usually get it to work by completely unplugging everything and patiently turning things back on, but even that takes a few tries sometimes. It simply isn't a very good dvd player. We have actually gotten to the point that I won't put dvds into this player (We have another, but the other dvd player isn't a smart player). I am too afraid a good dvd will get stuck in the player and it won't turn back on. I don't want to have to take it apart to rescue a dvd! Buy a better dvd player if you have the money. It will save you frustration in the end.

    Not what I thought
It doesn't come with a cable to hook it up with and it doesn't specify on the box that you need one. So I had to go back to the store to buy an HDMI cable and LAN cable both which add to the price of the unit substantially. Then after I finally got it all hooked up I was disappointed to find out that it does not search the internet there is no web browser. Maybe I should have known all that but hopefully this review will help somebody from having to go to the store 3 times like me. 3rd time was to return it !

    A piece of junk
I cannot believe the piece of trash this equipment is, additionally, the price is exorbitant, then one must purchase all the additional cable to hook it up! It is ridiculous for the Samsung's reasoning to this was that no other manufacturer provides them, therefore they also do not; also this was their reasoning for NOT putting this information on the box so that BEFORE leaving the store might purchase the required items so as to make the Blu-Ray player useful to them when they get it home!!

    Not good.
I have other Samsung products that I like and recommend. This particular Blue ray player is a real stinker. After 3 days, and after 1 successful blue-ray disc, I tried to turn on the player to watch a movie. The power button would not work. Although plugged in, the front buttons would not show power being connected, no lights. I switched to another outlet, still nothing. The power button had basically broke, I could not open the front to insert a disc, I could not get it to turn on. I tried it on at least 5 different outlets, and the thing is a broken waste of $60. If you dare buy this, keep the box and the receipt!

    DO NOT BUY!!!!
I hate this product. I bought the blu-ray player brand new and within two weeks of my purchase the player started freezing up. I had to call Samsung customer support and they were NO help. In fact, this occurrence happens so often that Samsung has a tech support website especially for this event.I will never buy another Samsung product again! TO ALL CUSTOMERS: Look on product review websites and look at how many people dislike this item and give it horrible reviews.
