Rightline Gear Sport 3 Car Top Carrier, 100S30
LOVE it! We went on vacation- 5 adults, 1 child...PLENTY of room for all our gear plus extra stuff we bought (beach chairs, beach umbrella, souvenirs from Disney) Our vehicle does not have cross-bars for the roof rack, so we had to buy extra straps to secure the bag to the roof. We also used duct tape to secure the strap ends so they wouldn't blow around. 100% waterproof, so we didn't have to worry about our stuff getting wet in the Florida downpours. Folds up nicely- unlike the big plastic car toppers, so you can take it off the car and secure it in your hotel room. The more stuff you put in it, the better it sits on the car. I would recommend this to everyone.

TRUE MEANING OF A "ONE HIT WONDER!!!" GARABAGE
We made a trip from Pennsylvania to Mississippi and back. The only thing that did not make it was the car top duffle. Trip down was fine, no problems. On the way back we stop to sleep and when I inspected the duffle the rubberized coating on the top was peeling off, exposing the white mesh webbing underneath. We had 5 holes in the top of the bag. Weather was nice so we had no choice but to press on. When we got to Pennsylvania we ran into several thunderstorms. All our luggage got wet. In addition we had to run the straps through the inside of the car and at all four doors the straps where acting like a conduit for the rain. We all were getting soaked. I contacted the manufacturer regarding the peeling of the coating and sent them pictures. Their first question was did I have the bag full. Which we did but there was some additional space on top that we could have fit some smaller thin items. There response was that if there is any loose material on top that it can flap against the straps causing these holes that it is not covered by the warrantee. They offered 30% off the purchase of a new one. Why I through more good money after bad. We used it as designed and the product failed, miserably. To top it off they don't stand behind their product. Just a few pictures attached

Not happy with the overall quality.
I'm not happy with the quality of this item. I used it for a trip to Florida with my family it was about 1200 miles each way. The straps that came with the carrier are cheap and it's hard to tighten the carrier down. The bag also stated to wear in the front causing the material to crack. I wouldn't recommend this product unless you can't afford a better one.

Nice product but doesn't attached easily w/o rack
Our top carrier just made it through its first trip successfully. We traveled about 350 miles round trip and it held up through some nasty wind and rain. This carrier and pretty big and fit a lot of stuff, pretty impressed with the size. The only downside so far is how the instructions explain on how to attach it to our roof. We don't have a roof rack and one of the main reasons we purchased this is because it said you don't need a roof rack to attach for the roof. Well the instructions say to connect a short strap and long strap than stap the carrier down over the top and through the doors of the vehicle. The straps are too short! I have a relative with the next size smaller than ours and they have the same problem. We both have mid-size SUV's and the straps just weren't long enough to go over and through the vehicle like the instructions describe. Luckily we got four staps withe our carrier so I had to connect 2 long straps together to get them to go over and through. Unfortunately, me relative only had 2 straps and they had to rig it on the handles on the ceiling of their vehicle. They need to provide longer straps or shouldn't be advertised to attach through the vehicle without rack.

    Roof Carrier
We purchased this to make a trip to Virginia Beach. It was a very good buy. We ran into some pretty heavy rain, but the product is waterproof and worked extremely well in keeping everything dry. It is light weight, well constructed, and a very good purchase for any travel. We would highly recommend this roof carrier for anyone that travels and has a roof rack.

    Wonderful
I bought this two days before a trip to Florida because there were 7 of us traveling and we needed somewhere to store all of our luggage. My husband had built what he thought was an awesome luggage rack made of plywood and was going to store it on top of my Durango with our luggage in it and wrap it in a tarp. I could not let this happen!!!! Of course he told me this Rightline Car Top Carrier would never hold all our luggage. Oh it did and more!!! There were 3 large suitcases, two small suitcases, a duffle bag, two backpacks, a bag full of shoes, and another bag with accessories and every bit of it fit in this carrier!!! It was easily installed my husband had no problems! His exact words were "I love this thing"!! Thank you Walmart and Rightline for saving me from cruising down the interstate with a plywood carrier wrapped in a tarp!!! I can not rate if it held up in rain, we didn't drive through any bad weather conditions.

    Just what we needed.
We first used this for a 1000-mile drive, carrying valuable (to us) family memorabilia home. During the trip it was subjected to steady rainfall for several hours and to several brief, hard downpours. We had covered its contents with a layer of plastic under the top, but apparently that wasn't necessary. There was no sign of moisture inside after the trip. We particularly appreciated that the soft structure made it possible to fill and tie down without waste space, the carrier fitting the contents instead of having to make the contents fit a strange-shaped carrier. We look forward to using this for camping equipment when we travel with family.

Great for a large family trip
My family of 7 took a 5 day camping trip in a Ford Explorer and needed extra space. THIS WORKED GREAT! It's huge! We loaded 2 large canvas suitcases, a full laundry bag, all of our kitchen supplies, 4 stuffed animals, 3 pillows, a few comforters, and bathroom supplies in a rubbermaid tote in this carrier. I probably could have fit more. The only negative thing I can say is that you have to be careful you put the straps on right and tight. The instructions were a little tricky and ended up doing it our own way. It rained twice and everything came out bone dry. One great buy! I would recommend this.

    Great for vacation
Very easy to install and held much more than I expected. It definitely is not for smaller SUV's, I installed this on an 08' GMC Acadia. We returned home in a monsoon and everything was completely dry. I would have preferred for the tie downs to be metal hardware vs. plastic as i feel this will be an issue in the long run but for the price you can't beat it.
