Easy start
I researched and bought this myself. My husband was not home when it arrived so my 8 year old son helped me take it out of the box, he then put the handle in place. I put the oil in it and some gas and after a couple pulls it started right up. Very impressed. Love that it doesn't throw the grass at you like a regular weed wacker. The next day my husband gave it a workout. Mowed our 2 front ditches in about 15 minutes, which takes over an hour with 2 weed wackers going, then he took it around our fence for the cow pasture. He was impressed. I used it again this past week and it started right up. Don't hesitate to buy

Not for wimps!
I was looking for a "weed eater on wheels" and had read reviews about similar products stating that a walk behind string trimmer was light weight and easy to manuever. I could not get the one that the reviews were raving about so I settled for this one that looked very similar and the price was right. Walmart shipped it quickly and it was well packed- weighs about 40 pounds and I had to get a knife and cut the back of the box open to roll it out becauseI could not lift it. The angle of the handle is designed for an easy push over level grassy ground. It does not operate well on uneven ground. The lack of any wheels on the front means that the rotator cup will fall down into any hole and if maintained in one spot for over 1 second, it will dig a hole. The orange plastic string trimmers are easy to replace but they stick out past the rim and guards so you need to leave a 4 inch zone around anything you don't want destroyed. It will take out a double insulated pvc water pipe in a milli-second. It is heavy and hard to push and the angle of the handle is such that when pressing down on the handle to raise the front, you will have to stoop to 14 inches off the ground. It is not good on briars and vines - it doesn't cut them and they get wond around the rotator. I don't recommend this for anyone who does not have upperbody strength and plenty of stamina.

    Excellent
I was able to clear out Johnson grass, sunflowers, and other weeds and grass in a fraction of the time and effort it would have taken with a regular string trimmer. I did go through a lot of string, but it was still well worth it.

    Good Choice
I must say, even after reading the reviews on this thing, I was still a little, OK, more than a little, surprised just how well it really works. This paid for itself by lunch time on the first day. What we did in the first day, would have taken us a week otherwise. The before and after pics below should tell the story, its a about a 1 acre lot, that hadn't been cut in probably 3 to 4 years, maybe 5... You could actually mow with this thing if your ground is level... On uneven ground, it does seem to pull left, but so do I... lol Pros Arrived on time Easy to unpack Oil included Started 2nd pull String is easy to change Eats thru stuff that will surprise you Cons None

    Very nice
It works very good. I am a 72yr old women can handle it very easy. A little hard to start the first time but after that pretty easy. I do wish that I had been told what string to use for replacement. The one they suggest from the dealer is rather expensive. I will need to find another brand that can be substituted.

    monster field trimmer
put oil and gas in it, primed 4 times, pulled the cord and it started, once warmed up it took 3 pulls, wah, i live on the side of a mountain in the ozarks, mowers don't work brush hogging cost to much, this goes thru all but saplings and the thickest stalks, i bring a corn knife for that, i'm 6 ft. and had to lower it from the tallest setting, 5 ft. sweetgrass didn't stand a chance, i've done a half acre, and still have the original line, pick up your beer cans 1st. or it will shred them, i accidently left it out and it recieved 12" of rain, no problem (i don't reccomend this) it plowed thru wet, dry ,thick, thin, tall, and short, it works as good pushing, as well as pulling, county didn't mow my ditch this year this did it in 4 passes, it's gaurding kept all the mower mess off of me, normally i would have to change clothes on the porch before going in, not any more, USE HEARING PROTECTION, noise is the only bad thing i have to say, but i put in earplugs first, if you have a problem piece of land, buy this , i will be using it right up until the snow flies, and be ready for a lazy next year, thanks to this field trimmer, next year i will have a nice property, instead of something i don't talk about.

    Works great!
We have a "naturally landscaped" yard in the high desert. In other words, not landscaped at all with extremely uneven ground, rocks of all sizes and tall tufts of stringy green stuff we laughingly call grass. I knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park to use this or any other wheeled mower and it wasn't. It was the workout I expected it to be. With all that said, this is working great. It even cut right through some seriously overgrown areas that both the string trimmer and mower would have struggled with. It also got into all those areas my mower would never have been able to reach like around the trees/bushes with low limbs and the stuff growing in the chain link fence. All of this with the added benefit of not having to worry about ruining a cutting blade on all the rocks. This hybrid string trimmer/lawn mower was a great purchase.

    Good value
This weed wackier was easy to put together. I am still amazed at how fast it got to my house after I ordered it. It took 2 days to get to me. It is easy to start. It also seems to run forever before it needs refueled. Big tires are a plus. I would recommend this to a friend and buy again if need be.

Quality product, easy to use, and handle
No assembly, just add oil and gas. The trimmer starts easily every time. This trimmer is great for those who have a lot of trimming. Word of caution, this trimmer has power and will chew into a fence post or tree trunk in seconds if held to close....it does not operate like a typical hand held weed trimmer....it takes a feel to get use to when you first use it....once you have mastered the technique...it is very easy to use and does a great job...the trimmer strings are quick and easy to replace....and last longer....the trimmer is set at the correct height, tilting the trimmer will tear up the grass...this is not made for real tight 90 degree angels as it will chew up either side....(ie: corners where the fence post and fence meets) although it can be accomplished by keeping the trimmer at a distance and patience.... it works great around curves, edging, fence lines and foundations...no arm fatigue....quick and easy to use.....the price is a few hundred dollars less than others we have looked at......and does the same job....and the best for last....No more pant legs covered in grass...lol

    first use was great
my first use of the remington trimmer todaymay 19th 2014 was awesome.my yard is large and it cut very easily.the outskirts of my yard which is unfenced had high weeds and bush.this machine plowed through it easily and the perimeter of the yard now looks amazing.i also cut a large portion of my neighbor's yard directly behind me which is unfinished(no grass or landscaping)and the machine performed well.the only drawbacks that i had was the handle height was too low for my height(6'4") and the cutting height was fixed.also you have too be careful when cutting uneven surfaces in your grass because the trimmer line will gouge out your grass if the front guide bulb that the lawnmower rests on will follow the shape of the ground.you need too slightly lift the machine by pushing down on the handlethe trimmer line holds up well unless you are trimming against building or hard objects.the machine started up easily at all timesand it was easy too manuever because of the large wheels.i should have purchased this long ago.i will purchase another unit soon but with all of the features that i mentioned that are missing with this starter unit.great product
