I had one of these many years ago and I used it often and for just about everything from frying taters to chili to frying cat fish to slow cooking a pot roast and more! Four years ago my house was destroyed by fire and I lost most everything. Immediately I went to walmart to buy those simple things one needs such as towels, pan, etc. One of the first things I bought, was the presto multi cooker! I use it at least once a week and often more than that. It is very easy clean up. After deep frying, remove the oil, wash it with dish detergent and it will continue to look good as new. It really does clean up easily. The basket I also use for other things and in other pans some times. ALSO, I have very very bad luck with crock pots....they either do not get hot enough and/or stop working within a few months of purchase. I love the presto multi cooker for slow cooking because I can set it where I want it and I can turn it up so it will cause the contents to come to a boil. Very versatile item that really will last seemingly forever. It's a wonderful and affordable item.

Faulty product
I bought this presto kitchen kettle via pickup and delivery around a week ago, and had set the package aside until I remembered to opened the box today, but as I was opening the package, I found that the lid had a huge dent in it. Obviously this product needs a good lid in order to function as intended, and I can already imagine what will happen if I used a lid with a dent. I opened the entire package very carefully just in case something was broken and I needed to repackage it, and to my dismay, there really was something broken. I didn't finish opening the package so I don't know if anything else is broken but I have repackaged everything after I discovered the broken lid. I want to return it but I'm not sure how to go about it because this was bought via pickup and delivery (Walmart Grocery) around a week ago.

    I love this fryer. As an elderly person it the right size for me but I would buy the bigger one if I were cooking for more than one. This is my second fryer so feel safe buying this.

    Disappointment
    I was really disappointed in this one. The aluminum around the glass lid was bent, the handles would not tighten. Then I had to wipe the dust out of the inside before I washed it. I was going to return it, but my husband had spent too much time on it, so I am keeping it.

    It does it all Fry's, steams and cooks rice
    It's a very diversified little fryer if fries well, he could make soups in it and rice cleans easily. I gave it for stores because I had to put the feet and the handles on it and you need a really good Phillips head screwdriver. But otherwise it's a Great appliance and great space saver.it comes with a great recipe book. It has temperature control and it's very clear Buc I'm enjoying it. It's so easy to clean. Just read the directions and get ready and food never sticks.

    Peeps, this is one of the best appliances I've ever bought. I use it every other day. I can switch between frying French fries to making soup simply by pouring the oil into a coffee can and rinsing the appliance out with a little Dawn detergent. And then reversing if I need to go back to the fries. I do love it. The only problem I had was that when I went to screw the handle on one side, I couldn't because either the rogue factory worker or robot stripped the threads in the metal handle bracket so I couldn't attach it. I tried hot gluing it on but that only lasted two meals. So, I just used it without the one plastic handle usually but if I was confident and hadn't smoked weed recently, I would put the handle on and while I was lifting up on it, I'd kind of press the handle in toward the pot and that would work ok. It just felt so much nicer. I just didn't want to have the handle come off and have the oil spill all over my kitchen floor. But yeah, you learn how it works, just like any child. But I highly recommend this Presto Kitchen Kettle. I just bought my brother one and he says he loves it too. He thought that there should be a recess in either the cover or the pot itself so that the lid could go on completely flat without it sticking up because of the basket handle. I think it would be better if the basket was wire mesh instead of perforated. I'm thinking of getting another one just in case I get a current surge to my house and my Kettle gets fried. No pun intended.

    It is not what you need to have, it is big
    Shoppers should know that this kettle wrong marked It is not 1. 75 q it is 5 q or more you need to talk to manufacturers and correct this online. I bought and returned 2 times because there is no 1.75 q size of this. However if there is 1.75 q ,please send me one, because it big for my household. Thanknyou

    Good purchase. Easy to use.
    So far so good. Gets to the boiling quite quickly and easy to assemble and use. I have only used it to fry fish and sweet potatoes. Can't wait to steam some items and give it a try. Just the perfect size to have in the kitchen. You don't want something huge and have to use a lot of oil to fill. Very safe.

    Big enough for a dozen wings, 4 chicken thighs, lots of fries. not all at same time of course. I like this a lot better than the square one this replaced. its fully immersable for easy, complete cleaning. Nice glass lid for storing oil for next time.

    i really like this one. ive had the small one before but one this big is great.i was not looking for it in the store. but i saw it on the shelf but there was not anymore i ask for help he ck and said there some coming in.so i scand it and i got it for less and to my home in 3 days wow that a good deal to me .it's what we need and save money cool.

    Basket is worthless
    While it is a cute little pot, I returned it mainly because of the basket. The basket is a piece of junk. Cooking/frying without the basket in it, I would inadvertently touch the side of the pot to stir or remove food (because it so deep) and burn myself. Also seemed to run hotter than what the thermostat said. I made spaghetti and meatballs in it and couldn't get it to just simmer, it wanted to bubble way too much on low.
