Great Filter, Bad Design
I received my PUR Water Pitcher about a week ago. I had heard many good things about this Pitcher from ads and social media. The filtering system is suppose to reduce chlorine taste and odors in your drinking water. It does do as stated. The water does taste great. The filters should last a couple of months or about 40 gallons of water. You have to pre soak the filter before using the first time which is no problem. There is a few problems with using the product. It is very slow to fill up because the water has to go through the filter into the reservoir. And when pouring water out the lid sometimes will come off and spill. There is nothing that holds the lid on like a snap or button. So , in conclusion, I think the filtering aspect is great but the quality of the product in itself is lacking. So I can only give it a 3 star rating.

    Pure, Clean, Great-tasting Water!
We are having changes un our water at home and although we have refrigerated filtration ice and water, I thought it was a great idea to buy something we could take with is when away from home. I used it first time tonight

    A Great Pitcher Filtration System
The Pur 7 Cup Basic pitcher filtration system has very understandable instructions as to how to set up and use, plus pictures that help with the instructions. The filter life calendar is a very handy thing because you attach it to the filter pitcher as a reminder to change the filter after 2 months. I like that the pitcher holds 7 cups of filtered water. I use the filtered water to fill my water bottles that I use daily. I also use the water in my coffee maker. The water had no odor and tasted good. I would recommend this water filter because of the ease of use and the taste of the filtered water. I am a member of the Spark Reviewer program.

worth the price, if a little upkeep
This is a really nice filter pitcher, especially if you have well water or your local water doesn't taste the best. After filtering the water has a really nice almost bottled water taste, and the pitcher does filter the water very quickly. If I could change anything I would make the filtering section a little bit bigger even if I had to sacrifice a little bit of the filtered section. A full filter full will only fill one large drinking glass, so it takes a little while to make a full pitcher of water. Other than that I am a little concerned about the bake-o-lite feel of the lid, and I'm worried that it might shatter if I dropped it onto a tile floor or something. Don't get me wrong the product is overall something I would totally recommend even with those few shortcomings. I would just also mention them incase it wasn't the perfect fit, and they needed to choose a more durable product. I really love how easily the entire pitch comes apart into its different pieces, which makes it uber easy to clean if you ever notice its getting some hard water build up in the filter section.

    Economical, Easy to Use
I received the Pur Max Ion 7 cup water pitcher as part of Walmart's Spark Reviewer Program. It is a small pitcher; less than a half a gallon. Since it is small it doesn't take up a-lot of counter space. I was using another brand and the pitcher was 2.5 gallons. It was taking up counter space and we weren't using it that much so the water would sit there for days. This Pur pitcher is perfect for filling the coffee brewer in the morning. We can fill the coffee machine directly from the pitcher. The lid does not come off which was a concern of mine. The fact that it is small it gets filled more often so the water is fresh. It fits under the faucet with no issues. The filter is easy to prepare. Just soak it in cold water for 15 minutes. Rinse the filter for 10 seconds and your good to go. They give a filter chart so you remember to change it every 2 months. The filter reduces 22 contaminants. I purchased 3 replacement filters for 15.00!!! They also make a filter that will reduce lead further if you desire to buy that. This pitcher is great for small households. It's great to take camping because it is so small. The possibilities are endless. I am now using this as my water pitcher instead of the large pitcher I was using before.

    Makes better drinking water.
Following the directions, I washed the pitcher with warm soapy water, soaked the filter in cold tap water for 15 minutes, drained it, ran cold water in it for 10 seconds. I then placed the "date/calendar" sticker on the outside of the pitcher, and put the re-usable indicator stickers on top of the correct months, to show when the filter was first used, and when it should be changed. Then I filled the pitcher with water, it takes 2-3 minutes to fill the container, it runs slowly, into the bottom of the pitcher, this is the filter at work doing its thing to remove all the impurities from the water, the pitcher holds 7, 8oz cups of water, the filter will clean 40 gallons of water, with 2 months use. I put it in the fridge overnight, along with a glass of tap water so I could see if there was a difference. The next morning, there was no difference of taste or smell. The filter is supposed to remove 96% Mercury, 95% of industrial pollutants, and reduces the taste and odor of chlorine. It is certified to remove 2x more contaminants than Brita filters, so this is what makes me want to continue using it. Slight design flaw, the lid does not snap in place, it just sits on top, and will fall off when you are pouring out the last of the water into your glass, so you will need to hold with one hand, and while pouring.

    Thirsty
PUR water pitcher is great for the earth but has some disadvantages. First, takes 10-15 minutes to filter and you have to do it several times to fill the pitcher. Also, doesn't taste like bottled water, has a chalky taste to it and makes my stomach hurt. The dog doesn't seem to mind the taste but not me. I will use it for coffee and to brew ice tea, but not by itself. Overall, not a fan!

    A good filtered pitcher
I've wanted to try one of these pitchers for a while now, so I was happy when it arrived. Our water tastes pretty bad and is very rusty, but after using the pitcher, the taste is very much improved! It's a good alternative to water bottles. I would get a bigger one the next because the kids and I can go through water pretty fast.
