Dolz says Pen+Gear 6 Sheet Micro Cut is a ''Buy'
Compact! Crosscut-style is the ideal shredder for maximum security. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that this shredder motor has a handle to lift it out of the bin. It is a workhorse. I put it through a variety of tests with different sizes, shapes, and textures of documents. It would pause for about a second (like catching its breath) and right back to it. I ran out of scratch paper trying to max it out. I confess I didn't attempt to deliberately overheat. On continuous feed, I was almost certain that would cause it to overheat (though, again, not trying to) but it didn't. Not sure what more can be said about a shredder or its performance. Now if any shredder can find a way to clean itself without leaving confetti in its wake, that would be the icing on the cake for me.

Defective - Paper Shredder !
Worked for a little while and emptied the trash bin and then let it rest like it said to do. Then when I went to shredding again it didn't want to work !

    Better Than A Regular Shredder
    Work better than my regular shredder. This shredder cut my paper in small size, keeping my sensitive information secured! if impossible for anyone to tape everything back... unless they going to spend months without break. I fully recommended this product to anyone who needs a shredder.

    Nice sized shredder that does what it was made for. I live in a studio, so I opted for a smaller size and it fits right under the desk. It is not intended for heavy use, which is exactly what I needed. This is perfect for home offices. This would not be good in an work office setting where there is higher demand. It shreds papers, credit cards, and even staples. There is an indicator light showing that it is on and if it gets overheated. The collection bin is 3.4 gallons, so a small bin. It has modes of off, auto, forward and reverse.only shares 6 sheets at a time to prevent paper jams. It is super easy to set up, simply place the top on bin and plug it in. The maximum continuous use is 4 minutes, so any longer is likely to overheat the shredder. It uses a micro cut which means it cuts into tiny pieces, offer better security. This is perfect for home use, to shred any sensitive documents. Overall, I would recommend this product for the home and if you are looking for a more specific type of shredder. If you are just shredding papers, then a crosscut shredder will work. However, if you anticipate to shred potentially sensitive materials, such as happens with home use, then micro cut is the best option.

    Bogs down with 3 sheets of paper.
    I received this product to test how it works. After a simple put together, which involves just placing the top onto the bucket, I tried out the shredder. I started off with 1 page, then 2 pages, then 3 pages, etc.. The shredder is very loud. Louder then any shredder I've previously owned, or currently own. The shredder took 1 and 2 pieces of paper with ease, but still very loud. When I put in 3 pages the shredder started to bog and slow the shredding. Anything more then that the shredder would overheat faster. My next test, I shred a whole pile of papers to see if it would overheat and shut down. This shredder actually did better then my more expensive shredder. It was able to take approximately 150 pages without overheating. I will say this is a good shredder if you don't mind the noise. This shredder also cuts the paper into smaller pieces then my more expensive shredder, which makes it to where you have to empty the bucket less and also more information is concealed. All and all, I would keep it if I had paid for it, I just wouldn't be able to use once kids are asleep.

    I needed a small, space saving shredder while working from home and this Pen + Gear fits my needs. I am able to shred 6 pieces of notebook paper with no issues. I have shred for about 5 solid minutes with no issues. But there is a overheat protection built into it. It is easy to understand and use. The top goes on with no issues and even has a handle on it. I do wish it locked in place though, I normally empty it after a few uses before getting to full, but I do worry about it getting knocked over and making a mess. It shreds the paper small enough, making it very hard to make out what was on the paper. Over all I feel the information is safe. The unit is pretty loud, but that is expected. It's a great addition to my home office.

    Awesome compact shredder
    Once I received this compact shredder and I had to try it out. It is so amazing not only does it shred but instead of just small thin strips it cuts them in tiny thin strips. By doing that I feel if someone stole your shredded paper it would be really super hard for then to try and piece it back together. So I love this little machine and would recommend it to anyone.

    Perfect for home use
    This is a great shredder. I feel more secure using this cross-cut shredder as opposed to my old straight cut shredder. It is a great size for my home office. It is a perfect fit for under my desk. It does not get in my way at all. Easily handles 6 sheets at a time. The credit card shredder is an added bonus. Has all the features, reverse & overheat included. The shredder also has a nifty carry handle to remove the top for easy cleaning. The bottom bin has a see thru window which allows you to see when it needs to be emptied. I had to shred a pile of papers which took me about 20 minutes. The shredder was warm but did not overheat. Overall I would definitely recommend this simple shredder for the home office use.

    Quick, not too loud, shreds great
    This is a nice study little shredder. It shreds paper quickly and it's not too awful loud. It also shreds very fast. The top cutter portion sits securely in the bottom trash portion and the whole thing doesn't wobble or seem like it's going to topple over (I've had other ones that did that - what a mess!). It shreds the paper quickly and can do up to 6 sheets at a time - perfect for the credit card bills. I really like that the trash can has a window in it so you can see how full it's getting. It also has a credit card shredder which I didn't try. Cross-cut shredding is very secure and the cut pieces were about 1/2" long (or less) - not DOD standards but good enough for my mail!

    Compact but very sturdy Shredder that does the job
    I am so impressed by the size and design of this Shredder. The best features are the front window and the handle! It can shred 6 sheets of paper, but I found that a bit too thick to go through smoothly, so will only shred 4 sheets and it shreds to tiny pieces! It is not very loud and has Forward, Reverse, On and Auto settings and they all worked as expected. I am really happy with this product and highly recommend if you do not do a lot of heavy shredding. Great for personal use.
