Must have item for Camping
I bought this about 3 years ago and have been using on at least 10 camping. In short it works great on wood fire at camping. Some comments I read complain about paint flaking out. Hmmm it maybe true, but after on fire and brushed it off with bbq brush, I never noticed anything, and have been using for cooking everything on it directly. Leg height is not adjustable, but come on, you can not have all function. You can adjust by wedging wood/rock from concrete fire pit most camping site have. if it's on open ground fire, I can see pretty hard to adjust height, so I never though it was the problem. For the price, it is very solid built cooking grid for camping. Few of my friends begged me to borrow for their camping after they saw me using that at camping.

Paint peels
We ordered this to put ontop of our fire pit to help cook our food but as soon as we started our fire the paint started peeling off we were super disspointed.

    Works great for camping
We took this camping recently and it worked just great. We didnt have to bring a big heavy bbq and the campsite only had a fire pit. This was used to cook our food directly and we also put a griddle on it to cook breakfast. It worked great. I love it.

    Grillin
We have not yet used this product, but it seems well built and sturdy. I really would have liked it better if it came with a canvas bag or something, because once you cook on it the things seen to always have grease on them even though you clean them. All in all happy with purchase.

    Great for open flame cooking!
We've been without electricity for days due to a freak October ice storm. One can only eat so many sandwiches! Bought this last night and turning a rough patch into an indoor camping experience. It fits perfectly in my fireplace and has expanded our menu options greatly!

    Exactly what I needed
I was at a campground and there wasn't a grill (some have, some don't). Bought this to go over the campfire. It's pretty solid. It worked great for holding the cast iron skillet to cook over the fire. But it's coated in black paint which flaked/burned off after 1 day or cooking. This isn't a big deal because it's still functional but just beware of it getting in food or all over your car.

    meh, disappointed
I bought this as an expected upgrade to the thin silver grate Ozark sells.... as far as sturdy it was great but the paint literally burnt off the very first time we used it over the campfire. I still used it to place pans on but you definitely could not cook directly on it. also now with the coating gone, I'm sure it will rust quickly.

    campfire grill one and done
This metal campfire grill is not very good, there is nothing heavy duty about it. The paint is not fire safe and starts bubbling off as soon as you put it over the fire. It is not stable unless the legs are completely spread out which puts it far to low to cook over as there is barely any room for coals underneath never mind any actual fire. This is not a very well thought out design. With the paint constantly bubbling off you can't cook on it as it will contaminate the food. The picture is after 1 use.

Fun and handy for tenting and backyard firepit.
We took this grill camping, and it worked out great! It fit around the fire ring at our sight, easy to set up and take off again (Using fire mitts), and was a good size to get all our food cooking. Hot dogs worked well directly on the grill over hot coals. Burgers were better when the grill was covered with foil and the the fire was higher. We tried bacon, but the grease dripped and got the fire roaring, so that was charred up and started a bit of a grease fire. If someone had been standing too close or tossed water on it, they would have been badly burned. Save the bacon for stove top. As for durability, the extreme heat of the roaring fire removed a little paint, and my husband says it warped while very hot, but went right back when cooled. We plan to paint it with some stove paint. Folds up nicely for packing and storage. Overall, I am pleased with this item for the money.
