Makes great smoothies
I haven't tried it yet with other food items (salsa, dip, etc.) but it makes excellent smoothies! No ice chunks!

Blender and processor review
The food processor works quite well. Probably not as good as a vitamix, but I have made many successful green smoothies with this blender. However, it is extremely difficult to remove the bottom cap which screws off. You must use a great deal of pressure put it back on or it will leak. It comes with a seal, but the bottom cap needs a complete redesign. The blender has a 7 year warranty but the food processor has only a one year warranty. The mouth to the food processor is relatively very small compared with most food processors, giving you extra work to manually cut fruits and vegetables small enough to be fed into the mouth. The bottom adapter gears are easily stripped off making it useless to use. The plastic container on the food processor is much thinner than the blender and cracks easily. If you like to make hummus forget about it as the gears will be stripped out as it can't handle the force required to make hummus. The blender is the better choice for making hummus but it is difficult and time consuming to keep pushing the hummus mixture closer to the bottom blade housing. Oster customer service is pretty good. But, once they see you are having continued difficulty with the blender and the food processor they will restrict further assistance even if the units are under warranty. I bought the blender to make green smoothies which it does fairly well (with the exception of removing and replacing the bottom cap) However, if you pay attention to noted medical doctor Cauldwell Esselstyn MD, one should eat your fruits and vegetables instead of drinking them. He feels the fiber in the vegetables and fruit are disrupted by blending.

    Great Blender
    My husband and I did some research on this blender vs. the ninja and decided that for money and warranty this would be better. We have loved it and do not have any complaints so far.

    Very Satisfied
    I am pleased with my Oster purchase. I was actually looking into buying a Ninja product, but when I came across this blender, I changed my mind. The warranty can't be beat and I like the attachments that came with the blender. It does get a little noisy, but I can live with that. Since getting it, I have used it to make smoothies and frozen drinks. My kids and I are loving it.

    It was a good purchase. The quality is good and the accessories very helpful. Maybe the only cons is that is noisy but I think that is normal for this kind of powerful engine.

    Great Appliance
    I did some research and think this blender was the best value. I mainly wanted a blender with the power to make sauces out of nuts. Haven't tried the nuts yet, but it does a great job on ice and vegetables. Great smoothies. The food processor add-on works much better than the one I've been using for years.

    Great smoothie maker
    I was looking for a powerful machine that would not bog down when blending frozen fruit in smoothies. (My twenty five year old Hamilton Beach blender just couldn't handle the frozen fruit, nor the ice in many smoothie recipes without overheating) This machine does a wonderful job with the frozen fruit, and ice. I have not tried the blend and go cups, or the food processor attachment yet, but they should come in handy when the garden comes in.

    I bought this about a month ago and so far its amazing how great this product is. The power is great to battle anything, I made a smoothie using frozen strawberries and it had no problem dissolving it. Really like the features it has on this version. It truly is worth the money to purchase this blender.

    Blends my green smoothies with great ease and shreds cheese like a champ! Definitely recommend this as a more affordable option to those that want to blend daily smoothies, make icy beverages and has the bonus of a food processor as well!

    Great blender, smoothie maker, choper
    This works great for crushing up ice. We like juicing and it is the best. Frozen fruit and veggies with no problems. the motor seems to be strong and the button setting is nice. We put the top cover on and it seals tight, hit the button walk away, when I return my juice is ready to pour. I haven't had it a long time, I hope it holds up and next year I can say the same thing or better. Time will tell.
