Murray self propelled is fantastic
Why, oh why did I wait so long? Recently bought the Murray self propelled mower because regular mowing had become so taxing for me. This machine is amazing for an economical model. Assembly was done in a jiffy and when I added oil and fuel, it fired right up with the first brief tug on the rope, as it does with every use. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would pay more for a small self propelled mower. I am extremely pleased and would recommend this machine any time. Thanks Walmart.

SLAY QUEEN
Yes honey this mower did the job!! Had about 1000 square ft of 3ft tall thick weeds in my backyard. Easy to assemble, easy to heighten n lower, little gas needed used about half a gallon. Since my bush was so thick had to make small passes.

    self propelled mower
I had a previous self propelled mower that lasted over 12 years ans it was time for a new one. The one at Walmart was at a great price because I did not want to spend a whole lot of money on a self propelled mower. This runs great and I like the mulching blad which allows the grass cuts to feed the lawn. So I am giving this mower an excellent rating.

    21 inch self-propelled Murray Mower
I had this mower shipped to a local Walmart, although it was 3 days longer than expected to receive it, the mower arrived in good shape. For the price this mower seems to be an excellent buy, although we have only had a chance with weather to mow a small patch of yard. The assembly is simple, just unfolding the handle and tightening the plastic wing nuts and the eye bolt that holds the starter cord to the handle. Add the oil (measured and provided) and the gasoline (I always recommend 89 octane pure gas) and it started on the second pull. The self-propelled option is controlled by lifting the lower handle below the push handle and the self-propelling system worked well. My wife was hesitant to get a self-propelled mower because she remembered them as being heavy and hard to maneuver. She liked this mower because it was lightweight and easy to maneuver. We will see about longevity as we use it. We did purchase the extended 2 year warranty.

    Great mower for the price
I would not pay what they are asking for this mower presently but most likely the price is based on mowing season being over so the item might have to be back ordered if purchased now. Anyway, I paid $61 less than the current price which I think is a good deal for a self propelled mower. I was pleasantly surprised to find out there is no longer a choke or primer and the mower consistently starts on the first pull. It is lightweight, moves quickly (much faster than my previous mower which moved way to slow in my opinion), and has a good clean cut. The mower height adjustment is made with two levers instead of four which I really like. I feel I got my moneys worth but can't provide a historical opinion since I've only used it 5 times (though those were long and intense mowing jobs).

    Good, but....
The mower starts easily (which is a relief) and mows great. It is quite noisy. The problem I have with it is the skinny little bars that must be held against the main handle to keep the mower going. Because they're so thin, they are bruising the palms of my hands and I've been trying to figure out what kind of padding will work to keep that from happening again. More than a week after mowing, I'm still feeling the bruising.

    Great investment!
Delivered before time expected!!!! Assembly is necessary but very little before operating. Just add oil (included), fresh gas then adjust wheels for grass height. I was excited about the very easy pull cord to start mower. HINT for first time user- If you are pulling mower backwards ...release the self propelled arm first.

    Great purchase
Had a Murray walk behind since 2001, it finally had to be replaced. This is a great mower, self-propelled, EASY PULL start, do not have to PRIME anything. Price was really good at $238. Goes through tall grass without any problems. only had it since 6/16/16 but have used it 5 times. Sure makes mowing easier

Works well for what it is.
These are cheap what I call disposable mowers. I store mine outside under my deck. They last about 8 years before rust makes the deck too weak to use. They always start and run well for a cheap mower. I prefer the front drive as I like the ease of lifting the front wheels to stop the mower, I do not have to let go of anything and can keep a firm grip on the handle.

    Really like this mower
After pushing a mower, the same mower, for 22 years. I decided to get a self propelled mower. This mower was exactly what I wanted. Just a simple side discharge with front wheel drive. It cuts very well but the engine will bog down in high grass so you need to take it slow. Mine had gotten real high so I made two passes at different height settings. Height settings go from scalp to several inches tall. I keep a tall lawn and I have it set a 4 out of 6. You do need to be careful to let go of the drive bar if your pausing for a moment because it will drive the front wheels into the ground. It starts reliably on the first or second pull. Then you need to pause and wait for the engine to warm up for about 30-60 seconds till it comes to a steady idle. Then your good to go. So far I've used it 5 or six times and am very happy with it.
