Lasts a long time
This salt is good and more then enough however I found out after I bought it that just getting regular rock salt from the store is the same exact thing. You can go to any store and get a much bigger bag of rock salt super cheap. This is a good product but its way more expensive and the only difference is that its in a little box that says for ice cream makers instead of a big bag.

    Mmmm, mmm Good! Best results yet
    I was selected to make the Ice Cream for our summer family picnic. For years I used table salt with the ice and it worked ok so long as I could get the Ice Cream into a standard kitchen freezer to harden. Leaving it in the Ice Cream maker to harden never seemed to work. It wouldn't fully harden. I decided that I would go back to rock salt but couldn't find any in stores. I had to purchase it online and Walmart had the best price and it would be delivered the next day which it was. The first thing I liked about the salt was the smaller, more uniform size of the salt crystals which would work better in the small space where the ice would go and yet big enough to stay in place and not sink to the bottom of the tub like the table salt did. Once the Ice Cream machine finished churning I removed the dasher and replenished the ice and salt and covered it with layers of towels and blankets for insulation and it sat in the garage for 6-8 hours. When I brought the Ice Cream out it was nice and firm just like it should be. It had to be the salt that made the difference since it was the only thing that I did differently. I used a 6-quart freezer and used maybe 2/3rds of one box. It was a smart purchase and would say that you won't go wrong with this product and I highly recommend it.

    Great price for item that can't be found in stores. 32 lbs. of ice cream salt will last a very long time. Free shipping when I purchased even made it a better deal.

    Morton ice cream salt
    I thought this was a really good deal and bought it. Then I realized that if you buy the ice cream salt boxes separately, you save quite a bit of money. The product itself is wonderful. I make a lot of goat milk ice cream and this salt works wonderful.

    This is the only salt I've ever used for the past almost 50 years. And my parents used it. Probably salt is salt but I stick with Morton's.

    If you have an Ice Cream Maker, you need this!
    Just what I needed to make Ice Cream! Received package intact and postage was VERY reasonable. I bought the set of 4. Live in a small town and it's not always available. Now I have it on hand!

    You can't beat the price on this if you are looking for a large quantity. You can even have it delivered free if your total purchase is over $50. We use if for our aquariums. The only way to go.

    Great bargain for homemade ice cream makers!
    I am so happy with my purchase because I couldn't find Ice Cream Salt anywhere, during the summer months, except at a local specialty store. The store charged $5.49 for a 5lb. bag, and I on top of the increased price I had to haul the 6 heavy bags to my front door. When I went to Walmart.com, I was pleasantly surprised to find Ice Cream Salt! Not only was it less expensive than the specialty store's salt but, the free shipping and handling was a winner! All I had to do was place an order of $50 or more. So, I ordered 4 cases with 8 boxes in each case for the free shipping and handling and the 4 cases were delivered to my front door! I am a very happy customer! Thank You Walmart!!!
