So Far, I Love Them!
This is my fourth pair of Rocky Boots in about sixteen years. For work and riding, I like the durability and restorability of the uninsulated side-zipper jump boots. For hunting, I had an old 1200 gram PAC-type Rocky model that I wore for about a decade until they started leaking. This time, I was looking for a fusion of the two that I could wear daily during the winter months. The Sport Pro is just that. They’re insanely comfortable -- even more so than my leathers. With a quality pair of wool socks, they are warm in the teens and single digits. While PAC boots like my Baffins are light and warm while moving through heavy snow -- they suffer at a standstill when cold creeps up through their thin soles. The sport pros DO NOT have this issue, nor do they cause discomfort when standing for long hours on concrete. I’ve stood over my ankles in creek beds without a leak and had no fitment issues after a modest break-in period -- despite my right being slightly larger. I have a wide foot and wear a 13 running shoe. I always size down to a 12 in Rockies for perfect fit with room enough for heavy socks. The soles appear glued on which is typical for today’s boots and they’re only 22 days old. However, the boot is well constructed and I’m banking on Rocky’s track record of durability. So far, I love them. The grass isn't greener on the other side. I’m sticking with Rocky.

I would this 0 stars if I could
The boots fell apart after 1 year of light use leaving me with wet feet and broken dreams. The warranty is a joke. Do not buy.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/16/2024Comfortable and warmI bought these in Harrisburg Illinois during a visit to family in September 2023. October to February is game bird shoot season in the UK and I have been involved on Estate shoots for most of my life. Good equipment is essential to cater for all weathers and particularly boots. This was a pre planned purchase. I have worn these boots throughout this season and I'm delighted with their comfort, warmth and durability. I would recommend these to anyone who enjoys hunting in all terrains.Dave1213

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser05/11/2023Best pair of boots I ever owned! These boots someone gave me and they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I wore the soles right off them and I believe in a good pair of shoes your feet are everything, if your feet hurt everything hurts. Right? Just wish they made them a bit smaller.LisaG

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser06/22/2020Dangerous for use in commercial Sub zero freezers!I don't know what these soles are made of, but I imagine it's specifically not intended for use in Sub-Zero environments. I work in a frozen foods distribution center. The freezers are -25 and -40 in the ice cream room. While the boots themselves are well insulated, the soles of the boots make the insulation pointless. Within 20 minutes of being in the freezer, I noticed my boots sound like a horse walking on cobble stone. Clippity clop! The soles froze solid and lost all traction. After 20 minutes I could slide around and had trouble even walking. Worst of all, within 30 minutes the soles become so cold it's extremely painful. I tried changing the insoles with ones that have air pockets to try and minimize the transfer of heat loss with negligible results. Typically I'm in the freezer for 45minutes to an hour and a half depending on the individual orders. These are the 5th pair of work boots I've had since starting this job, and while I have had one pair previously with a similar issue, changing the insoles to ones that had air cells for better insulation solved the problem. Not so with these AT ALL. I've tried 2 different insoles to try and solve the problem but even a $40 pair of specially made insoles only bought me about 5 or 10 more minutes before I am nearly incapacitated. I can't begin to accurately convey the unsuitability of these boots for use in any Sub-Zero work environment where your walking on concrete, without sounding like I'm exaggerating. I am not. Specifically in a commercial freezer where you plan to be walking in excess of 20 to 30 minutes on concrete, you might as well be walking barefoot across a frozen pond. Oddly enough, because of the 1000g of insulation the boots do have, the top part of your foot stays warm enough to make you sweat a little, just enough to compound the problem further by causing moisture to form in the insoles, where after 45 minutes or so.... It literally freezes inside the boots themselves. After an hour, I can take the boots off, remove the insoles, and they will be frozen solid on the underside. I am not exaggerating in the slightest. In all seriousness, take a block of ice and stand on it barefoot for 20 minutes, and you'll know exactly what it feels like to wear these boots for an hour in a commercial Sub-Zero freezer. Excruciatingly painful. And again, the soles literally freeze solid after 15 minutes, so you lose any traction while walking. The situation has been deemed by my supervisor to be hazardous, and I have been moved to a refrigerated, non Sub-Zero section of the warehouse, until such time as I can replace these boots with ones more suitable for my work environment. Luckily I saved my old ones, which despite the fact they are literally falling apart, still work better than these. It is unfortunate as the rest of these boots are unusually well-constructed with respect to the stitching and seems. Specifically the toe is one piece, lacking typical stitching weak points. Zero stars.Chevo
