You just have to get one of these!
I saved up a couple years worth of Savings catcher and had an additional 85.00 of e-gift cart $$, so I cashed them all in for one of these 40" masterbuilt smokers. My whole family loves it. Learn to smoke meats and everything else, you become "the hero". Mine works great so far. Masterbuilt and many other websites have excellent recipes to try on everything. Don't pay the extra hundred bucks for the Bluetooth option it's isn't worth it. The remote that comes with this unit works just fine from my couch to the smoker out on the back deck. Love this 40" Masterbuilt electric smoker and the nice big window. We all love the food it can make too. The pictures are two different days. One shows me smoking 4 racks of babybacks and the other I smoked a 16lb. turkey. The turkey turned out to be one of the best turkeys I've ever made. Thanksgiving turkey next this November will be one of the best we have had in years because I'm going to bring the bird this time.

Masterbult damaged unit and poor customer service
Purchased online from Sams for Black Friday sales. Smoker arrived damaged with door hing broken and side bent in. Not usable product. Called Masterbuilt and they are a joke for customer service. They said they could send me a new door switch but would not warrant any cosmetic damage. I highly recommend not to purchase any Masterbuilt products due to warranty and poor customer service. Spend the extra money and buy a Pit Boss pellet smoker. It's outstanding!

    Very good unit with a few points to consider
    I am completely new to the world of smokers so I spent quite a bit of time researching multiple articles and online forums before ordering this model (20075315). I am very happy with the purchase! The smoker seems to be built well and has a lot of nice features (large glass window, RF remote/display, etc.). I don't have extensive testing with the unit, yet but wanted to share a few points of attention that I've read: 1) The built-in cabin thermometer (built into the back wall under the lower rack) has a reputation for having incorrect readings (some people have experienced high, some low). I cooked ribs in the smoker with just relying on it to be correct and they turned out great, but I went ahead and ordered an external remote Thermopro digital thermometer to verify the accuracy of the built-in unit. 2) The chip loader needs to be managed a bit. I found out quickly that you really only need to put about a palm's worth of chips in it. I think Masterbuilt says 1/2 cup but I'd go half of the recommendation they specify. If you fill the chip loader cup to "flat" it is far too much and can actually cause flare-up/fire which is no good. With the small amount of chips you are able to use, you have to refill the chip loader about every 30 minutes or so. This wasn't a big deal for me as my smoker sits outside my door but if you are looking to smoke larger meats it could be a pain or if you are looking to "set it and forget it" that is not possible without an external chip tray/bin. I have ordered the A-Maze-N tray which comes highly recommended by many smokers. The external tray allows for longer "set it and forget it" smokes and cold smokes. Overall I am very happy with the smoker and look forward to using it extensively through football and holiday season. Overall I would recommend this smoker

    Good small smoker
    Smoked 2 butts for about 8 hours @ 225. Temp held close +_ 8 deg but hovered around the 225 nicely. Plotted the internal temp curve and it was spot on and allowed me to raise the temp to 235 about 3 hrs before dinner was to be served. Temp outside was cold 33deg to 55deg but it had no problem coming up to temp. Good seal on the door Clean up was pretty easy. Remote was handy

    Great Smoker, but....
    This thing smokes amazing. Simple to use and holds temperature very well. However, it throws the breaker (only on Gfi) because of the design of the heating element. There are workarounds available on Google. The only reason it does not get 5 stars. I did not return it because of how well it smokes and how well it holds temperature.

    Great Smoker
    I bought this a few weeks ago , so far used it 6x its great . Maintains the heat very well as well the smoke. So dont over smoke your meat . Very easy to clean i use hotwater apple cider vinegar and few drops of dish soap. I would highly recommend this to others looking for a electric smoker.

    Good smoker for the price
    I have cooked several racks of ribs and pork shoulders in this smoker and it does a great job of holding a consistent temperature. It's large and does a great job cooking. The only flaw is the wood tray is way too small. It's not an issue if you are going to be able to add wood every 45 mins but if you are smoking something overnight it will come out tender but won't have as smoky of a flavor as other smokers. If it had a bigger firebox it would be near perfect but that is a huge drawback for anything smoked overnight.
