    Don't buy, weak signal and slow
    Weak signal strength (drops off fast) and the 2.4GHz band broadcasts is worse then the 5GHz. The bit rate is half that of my old ARRIS SBG10 (which I've reinstalled) and packit loss is terrible (sometimes as high as 30%).

    Don't buy this modem
    Very unhappy. This unit has no better range than my 6-year-old Netgear modem it replaced. I have a 1-story, 1600 sq Ft house and it won't reach bedrooms or front room. Going to send back

    Firmware is not supported
    Spectrum (cable) does not update firmware for customer owned routers, period. Motorola does not provide firmware downloads - they say the ISP should do it. Both companies are very clear through my contacts to help desks and customer support. Strangely this fact isn't acknowledged anywhere on the internet and seems to apply to many ISP's and more than just Motorola products. If you buy a modem/router from a store you may be stuck with outdated firmware and this model has been around for many years.

    So far so good. I had to call Spectrum to Help Connect. I tried online kept kicking me out. Gave Rep Router/Modem info. Connected just like that! Looks just like Picture.
