Disappointed
We had to return our purchase. The gears did not work, so the wheels did not move. Overall, I was unimpressed with the quality, it is made of cheap plastic, especially the track.

    Very happy train guy!
    Very well made, easy to put together and of a nice size for kids to use and play with under the Christmas tree. Would definitely recommend this train!

    Fun Train but Only Lasted One Season
    This is our second Lionel battery powered train. The first one lasted years. Unfortunately, this one worked great last season but when we set it up this season, put brand new batteries in it, it would only move a couple of inches before just stopping. We asked for a warranty replacement but it was just over a year old. I can't bring myself to buy it again, despite wanting another train under the tree.

    5 years still going strong WE LOVE IT!!
    had for years works excellent. i let my granddaughters play with this train and its holding up just fine. just snap the track together, hook cars together and line up the wheels on the edges of track and turn in the remote! goes firward and backward has a light, makes bell and whistle noises and plays 2 different songs. we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of it for the price. we have ours running halfway under our raised christmas tree platform and circling the front of tree/ village display and everyone comments on it and loves it. I think we have had ours, this exact model for about 5 years. worth the money. brings lots of joy. it works on carpet , and as long as your tracknis snapped together properly and wheels are lined up, it does NOT fall off the track. only if it hits an obstacle it might. Buy it. you wont be disappointed.

    Do not buy. Ww bough this train last year and it worked for one holiday season--minimal use. We brought it again this year and it doesn't function properly. It stalls out on the track (making noises) but won't move. Nothing we have tried has worked to fix it. Complete waste of money. I wish I could get a refund.

    nice quality train set!
    my 6 year old daughter wanted a train for christmas, and we got her this one. its a wonderful quality train and we are thrilled with the purchase! she loves using the controller to start and stop the train. the set up was pretty easy.

    Train set.
    Bought this train set last Christmas and I'm very happy with it. I'm 63 y/o and I have this going around my Christmas tree and its as cute as can be. I'm very satisfied!

    Pretty train that kept veering off track
    I liked the train but it would not stay on the plastic tracks. Plastic tracks kept separating. Had to glue them together but still had problems getting the little train and caboose to circle the tracks without veering off. Also, it was impossible to unscrew the compartment which held the C batteries. Ended up stripping the screw trying to undo part to get access to battery area.
