Great router
My old router was starting to cut out on me where I would need to reboot more and more often. The Linksys AC 2600 was easy to set up and is working consistently. As you might be able to see in the photo below, space in my tech closet is crowded so the compact size fit real well. It is rated to handle up to 15 devices at once but we typically only have four or five going and no problems so far. The box says it can provide coverage up to 1800 square feet but our house is about 3500 square feet on one story and we are not having any problems. The router is located near the center of the house, with my wife's office about 50 feet away being the farthest point normally used. We have also been able to roam out to our patio on our cell phones on WIFI with no dropped signal. There are more features that I haven't had a need for so far.

Not the best
Straight away I want you to know I'm a serious first person shooter gamer. I play Call of Duty all the time and someone's Battlefield. My xFinity modem router is way faster than this one. I tried it wired to my Xbox and via WiFi. No matter what this one is no where near the equal to my leased device.

    I bought this router to replace an AC1200 unit that was being overtaxed due to too many smart devices connected and bogging it down. Since installing this I have been seeing excellent speeds on the 5Ghz band with speed test results surpassing what I am paying for from my ISP. The 2.4Ghz band however does not perform as well and most of my smart devices run on that band. I was debating between this and a mesh system but I wanted more control over the individual bands and also needed the extra ethernet ports that this provides without having to add a separate switch to a mesh node which usually only has one lan port. I have added my WiFi extender to this and use it exclusively to run 2.4Ghz devices, this has definitely helped to improve reception and I can have as much as 18 devices connected including two laptops on the 5Ghz band with speeds above what I would expect. I am satisfied with this unit for now as I was also debating upgrading to a WiFi 6 unit for future proofing, as of now I have no WiFi 6 devices other than my daughter's iPhone11 which she usually has on data anyway. I'll see how this works out for now. I would recommend this router for anyone looking to upgrade and needs coverage for the recommended square footage stated by the manufacturer

    Great Router for a Household
    This router is a game changer. We have 5 people in our family and I work from home with a son who is a big gamer. My three children also play on their iPads quite a bit for virtual schooling and fun. With our old router I would get very slow speeds while working and have to kick everyone off. That has not happened since we received this router. My computer is no longer freezing and the kids haven't been kicked off virtual school once. One of our computers has the MU-MIMO chip which produces even higher speeds. I wish everything had the MU-MIMO chip so it would run as fast as the computer. That is one reason I am giving a 4 because of the availability of the chip in computers.

    Very fast reliable and handles multiple devices
    When I received this router I had currently been using a ASUS RT-ac 68R. I bought this ASUS router for over $200 when it first came out. I thought that it was still the cream of the crop until I got this router. Not only does this router handle more devices as I was explained by the customer service rep but the signal is even stronger. I'm currently using it as a bridge from the ASUS router and it's working perfect. I have a movie theater room in the basement and it gives me a much stronger signal down there now. One thing I noticed is this is a very big router with very big antennas especially when compared to my ASUS router that has very small antennas and a very small body. So I'm not sure but logic seems to me that the bigger the antennas possibly could assist in stronger signal and there is also four of them versus the three that I have on my ASUS which will allow for more coverage. I had to call customer service to help me set this up as a bridge since I have never done that before. What was amazing was, it was so easy to get a hold of customer service and they answered the phone right away and were very professional. I know when I tried to get a hold of ASUS for a router problems you have to jump through 20 hoops before you can even get to somebody and then when you do it's not the best service. So in the end strong signal,great performance, Good lucksspeeds are always extremely fast I would recommend this to anybody and the price is also amazing.

    Good router for home
    This router works well for its advertised range of 1,800 sq ft. In our 2 story home, we remained within range with high speeds and no discernible lag. With four adjustable antennas, it's easy to ensure good coverage throughout a mid-size home. Setup is instantaneous with a quick login to the local network to confirm default settings and change the network passwords for both standard and 5g access points as well as the administrator password, which you should ALWAYS change as the default is just ‘admin' and could let others with access to your network override your settings. You can also setup access to your network for outside the home although that was not a feature tested here. It also has 4 gigabit Ethernet ports along with 2 USB connections which are fairly standard for wireless routers these days. There are certainly routers with more features that can be had (for more money), but the Linksys EA8100 does its job well and provides plug and surf accessibility right out of the box.

    The Linksys AC2600 4x4 MU-MIMO Dual-Band Gigabit Router with USB 3.0 and eSATA (EA8100) is a nice upgrade from my router that is several years old. Out of the box it is easy to set up. The four antennas just screw right in and then click into place to stand up. This router lays flat whereas my old one stood up so it does take up more space. It is worth it for the extra power though. I've always had a router and modem combo, so this was different setting it up needing a separate modem. The quick start guide is easy to follow though and goes through all the steps. Once the physical box is set up then it is just a matter of going on the computer and finishing the connection. The box is in the middle of the house so it reaches the whole house plus the entire yard. This is great for multiple devices as these days we have laptops, tvs, tablets, phones, and more all using the same wifi. The label says this connects 15+ devices. I have many devices but don't run them all at the same time so this has not been an issue. I love that this is dual band and powerful. Now I just need a better ISP to get the full use out of it.

    Great Gaming and Streaming Router
    I was very happy with the performance of the LINKSYS Max Stream Gaming and Streaming Router . I have 8 grandchildren whom come over my house every weekend. This router was easy to hook up. The gaming system I have was being used and there was no freezing issues. I had my other youngest grandchildren watching a fantasy movie streaming which didn't lag at all . The movie had no issues with static trying to perform. Plus everyone else that were using their phones . This also saves me money personally not having to rent a router from my cable company. This router reaches up to 1800 sq . ft . and up to 15 devices without any sort of interference at all. It also isn't overwhelming in size . You can really find a spot for it that doesn't take over much space . I would definitely recommend this router to everyone. It will make a home full of devices and kids a happy home .

    Perfect router! Just what I was looking for!
    Let me start by saying how quickly I received this router. In a few short days it was ordered and on my doorstep. Packaged nicely with no damage to either the box or the router. Very easy to put together. You first 'screw' on the 4 antennae arms, connect it to the modem and plug in. It is that simple! Its design is very modern looking and feels more durable than my old Netgear router. Easy guided directions too. Connect to the internet and go to the Linksys website or IP for initial setup. Quickly sets up and updates automatically too. I took my router a step further. I already have a router and didn't want to bridge this one. I was looking to extend internet to my detached garage. With a quick google search to Linksys I EASILY turned this router into a wireless repeater! Linksys is amazing at giving step by step instructions. Now I have full bars in my garage, a place where my home Nest wifi just could never reach. I wish I would have gotten this sooner. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation! I did test the download speeds too on Speedtest by Ookla and it was that fastest Ive ever had before. 115 Mbps download and 6 upload! Thats great for where I live out in the woods. Bottom line is if you are looking for a high speed internet router or a repeater like me, you will not be disappointed with Linksys AC2600. It is perfect for all my needs!

    Works Great!
    This has been a great router. Setup was a breeze. It came with detailed and easy to follow setup instructions. I now currently have 2 computers (my boys using for virtual school) along with 5 smartphones, iPad and 2 4K TVs. Since we installed this I haven't had any issues. It covers all areas of our two story, 2000 square foot house. Everyone is connected with extremely fast connection and NO LAG. I love the user interface and now have my home wifi services exactly the way I want it with guest ssid and even a cloud like disk drive thanks to the fast USB 3.0 port. The network map display and media prioritization gives me full control over the devices on my network. MIMO technology probably is what makes all this so fast but i'm not a network Guru so won't say. Just know that its lightning fast and Works flawlessly. This was a seamless installation connecting all the devices with the new router. Never a single Connection issue, never drop any of the devices. I have tried a couple others, the signal and speed of this one is great and exceeds the providers router. Overall, the Linksys AC2600 router has exceeded my expectations. This is a very powerful router that I would recommend to any friend.
