Incredible picture quality, great for gaming
Pros: Excellent calibration from the factory Beautiful picture, now bright or dull spots, no dropped pixels. Nice sound, but this 4K beauty deserves a surround system Cons: HDCP 2.2 is a real bear to accommodate. DRM makes life difficult I cannot play 4K UHD discs on my AM4 X370 Ryzen PC CyberLink PowerDVD17 Ultra says "SGM is not available or not enabled in BIOS" Other Thoughts: Do your diligence on all pieces of hardware and software in the system before expecting to play 4K UHD Movie Discs on your PC. This is a beautiful monitor The future will improve DRM / HDCP / HDMI cooperation....I hope [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Loses HDMI connections.
Loses HDMI connections. Sent back to LG, they replaced circuit board, same problem. Sending back again. Wish I could get money back.

    Don't use for games so.
I would have liked to have a more complete instruction manual as I do not have a CD player with any of my computers, so set-up has been hit or miss, but mostly it has been hit and works great with a Window10 machine and a Chromebox

    LG monitor
The quality of the color black in images is less than perfect. However, the overall quality vs cost is great.

Great monitor for my particular uses.
This was definitely an improvement over my 27" monitor that was 3 years old. The mechanical setup is easy and the included stand is very sturdy-sufficient for use in a RV, in my opinion. I run the monitor through 50 foot connecting cables because of computer placement for best WiFi signal and the picture is perfect. Make sure your computer recognizes the monitor and its capabilities and adjust the display properties appropriately. Ensure you download the "Screen Split" software which I thought would be a waste, but turns out it is quite useful in the 4 screen split and running multiple programs. I don't do gaming, nor have a computer set up to support gaming, so can not comment on that aspect. I use it strictly for business and a few Microsoft included games, no social media connections. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who has the physical space for it.

    Far exceeds expectations
My criteria for choosing this monitor were many. Size and resolution were very important because I had recently had cataract surgery and am now wearing reading glasses. This monitor scales resolution easily with no visual flaws so I can pick and choose the resolution at will. I do a lot of graphics work and this monitor comes with factory color calibration right out of the box. I tend to drive my computers into the ground - 12 years for the last one - so I like to buy in as close to the state of the art as possible. OLED was out of the question because of cost but the next best tech is vertical alignment (VA). Though I am not a gamer I do watch a lot of video and it won't be long before 4K is ubiquitous so that was on the list of specs too. Freesync was also a requirement as the new PC this is hooked to has an AMD RX480 graphics card. This monitor supports 60 hz at 4k but to be honest I haven't pushed it that far yet. Do use the Displayport as it allows Freesync to do the job it was designed for. During setup of the PC it was initially pushing video through the hdmi cable and when I finally switched over to the displayport it was, well, magical. This monitor does lack some amenities. I do miss USB ports but my pc has plenty so that is not really an issue. This is a small trade-off for what was, when I bought mine, the least expensive 4K monitor available. Surprisingly, because none of the promotional literature mentions it, the monitor does have internal speakers. They are mounted in the base facing downward. They are not spectacular by any means but do give you a default for sound when needed. There is also a stereo mini-jack located in the middle of the back panel Also in the base of the monitor is a tiny joystick controller that allows you to adjust screen settings on the fly. For instance, this monitor is so bright that I use the joystick to tone it down to 50% which is not bad considering my aging eyes usually need all the light I can throw on a scene. For Netflix and Hulu I just reach over and push the brightness back up. The stand is height adjustable and is easily raised and lowered with a light touch of one hand. Moreover, there are a few degrees of horizonal tilt adjustment available as well which came in handy because my old computer desk is a bit saggy and I was able to easily level the screen to compensate. As important as these technical items are, the true measure of this monitor is the immersive experience it provides. For about the first twenty minutes of use it seemed a little overwhelming but I quickly got to the point where the expansive real estate has become a necessity for all the utility it provides. I have been a Microsoft Windows user (and critic) literally since version 1.0 way back in the late 1980's. I never realized the full potential of the Windows environment until I got this monitor. My new PC is well appointed and, paired with this monitor, has multiplied my productivity and enjoyment of computing. The color, clarity, size, performance and experience of this 32UD59 monitor are exceptional. Be sure to update all your graphics drivers and the monitor software itself during setup. Go to the manufacturer's websites for the purpose as Windows update lags behind a bit in having the latest drivers. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Beautiful and Just the right size for DEV work
I considered a 4k TV, but I'm glad I went this route instead. First, the size is perfect. I can see the entire screen well. Second, the clarity of 4K for reading is one of those improvements you can't go back from, like switching to SSD from HDD. Third, the software that enables you to choose from a few specific "drop zones" that auto-size your windows is really cool - until it isn't. It sometimes autosizes things when you launch them and puts them in a specific zone. That's a little surprising. Also, I can't find a way to avoid snapping a window that I'm dragging when I don't want it in a specific zone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
