2017 Great Hall set
This set is fantastic, it has so many minifigures, and has several great display pieces, unfortunately it is dark in the set unless you add additional lighting directed at it to make it light. The Basilisk is a bit small for what it is supposed to be, but this set is fantastic with the mirror of Erised and the reflective stickers. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, or just want a Lego Castle, this is a great set for that

Don't buy if you want real Legos
If you're a Lego person, don't buy it. The company it comes from is a knock off. I was totally shocked that it says “Magical Castle” on the box when clearly the display says Lego. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't say Lego so that's dumb. It looks to have all the pieces but it's a gift so won't find out until it's built but as far as a Harry Potter castle, it looks to have the stuff. If i knew it was a knock off i would have not agreed to pay as much as they are asking.

    Not brand name Lego!
This is NOT brand name Lego as stated. It is a cheap knock off sold at the same price as Lego.

    COUNTERFEIT LEGO - BUYER BEWARE
NOT AN ACTUAL LEGO PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!! I was SO excited to find this HP Lego set. What I received was a counterfeit lego knock-off at a LEGO price. See photos - they list it as LEGO set 75954, and the box doesn't say LEGO on it anywhere and says it is "No. 6035." They misspell one of the character names on the box. It doesn't even have the same age range or number of pieces as the actual LEGO set photo they use in the posting. I am SHOCKED at the audacity of this seller and really hope they do not dupe too many people this holiday season. Although Walmart made the return process easy enough, I still had to deal with the hassle of going to a FedEx store to drop the dumb thing off to make the return. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great quality and packaging
I bought this set for myself to finish off the whole setup. It came in great quality, and the box came I. Perfect condition like if you picked it out the store no dents, no scratches, no nothing. Would definitely recommend buying it before they stop selling this set.

    Quick, safe, and cheap
The box came in pretty good condition with only minor wear along the edges. The delivery was also a day early (which beat Amazons shipping of a similar product), and the sale that was ran on the product was also great.

    Excellent
As a huge HP fan I really enjoyed building this set. The details are everything and Lego didn't let me down. I do wish that I could display all of the House Flags and that Hermione's cat was included. Overall, this was a great set and I look forward to building my other sets.

    House of Hufflepuff & Ravenclaw
Great to see LEGO Finally release some lego with the colours of the other 2 houses the reversible flags are a great touch to this build. PROS: One of a kind "The Sorting Hat" amazing design. Favourite Character: Nearly Headless Nick Best section to build would be The Mirror of Erised which you can change what you see in it overall a fun build with the new shorter legs for the students being a first in LEGO History for any collector. CONS: All though this set is a great build someone clearly overlooked the section when the two sets connect as the picture will show the moving stairs no longer line up with the building due to the light.

A beautiful set with lots of detail
The Great Hall set is the latest in line of Harry Potter sets I have built, and it certainly delivers on quality and detail. It comes with an abundance of minifgures, of which I found Neraly Headless Nick most impressive. Professor Quirrell minifigure also comes with a "Voldemort" face on the other side, which is a nice touch, and I found Professor McGonagall's facial expressions amusing. The children minifigures have short legs, but not moveable as they do in the Minifigure bag collection. The building experience is very good, it was particularly satisfying to build the exterior of the Great Hall. The finished result is beautiful. Other details I have enjoyed were the moving stairs, the house banners that can be changed, and the Mirror of Erised, which can be made to show any of the four scenes that appear in the book. This set was clearly designed by someone who not only had talent, but also a love for the Harry Potter story, as they've gone to great lengths to provide lovely detail that makes this set so enjoyable. On the negative side, I found Hagrid's minifigure difficult to place anywhere on the inside due to lack of space. It is also impossible to put anyone in a room with the Mirror of Erised, because of where it's placed and can't fit in any of the other rooms. I would have loved a flat brick on top of the fireplace just to keep it together, as without it it feels a bit precarious. I appreciate that the floating candles are hard to translate into LEGO, so the end solution with two black beams ended up looking a bit clunky, and the exposed pin in the centre doesn't look as great - maybe even transparent beams would help? The tower roof doesn't look as fantastic with the sloped brick leaning against the smooth round brick. But these are just little things among a lot of positives. Overall it's a great set that I am looking forward to building again, and pairing up with more HP sets.
