I didn't realize the carbon monoxide detector needed to be replaced after so many years until a month ago when the one I had started chirping and had someone telling me buy a new one. I started reading the information on some that wall mart sells and the comments from people. I was very glad to have a place to go and get the information that I needed.

Meets UL standards, but unsatisfactory
This thing may or may not work. Who knows until you have a problem and it goes off? My disappointment comes from the fact that the display only registers the ppm if the ppm exceeds the UL-specified threshold; if you're concerned about long-term low-level exposure this will give you no information whatsoever. It only registers levels that are enough to trigger the alarm, which are "life threatening levels over an extended time period". If you have 10 or 15 ppm, a level high enough to cause problems in some people, the display screen will not register it. It's the same for all UL-listed detectors.

    THROW THE OTHER ONE AWAY
    Best that there is. Requires 2 AA batteries that can be installed without 3 strong men with a magnifying glass and a screwdriver. You know the one I mean. That's why you're reading this. Easy install by sliding out rear panel - with a human hand ! - instead of smashing the unit with a hammer. You know the one I mean. That's why you're reading this. Front panel provides legible marking for conditions and failures with intuitively obvious (R and G) LED indicators. I don't know what these people could have been thinking. Maybe that it would be a good idea to design a very attractive product that you can use, and that works.

    Excellent, easy-to-read Carbon Monoxide alarm
    I had one already on a different floor in the house and was very pleased to find another one. It's small, and has a digital readout that simplifies interpretation of the beeps.

    Very happy with this purchase!
    This was a replacement for another brand sold at another store (not a Walmart) that was horrible to even try to install. That one was returned as quickly as possible. I am very pleased with the price, features, ease of installation, and function of this product. Seems to work well.

    Perfect!
    I had a CO monitor that plugged into the wall outlet prior to this on and the thing just stopped working. It also was heavy and occasionally pulled out from the wall plug. I have none of those problems with this one. It's lightweight and battery operated so you don't need to use any outlet. It can be mounted on the wall or if you don't want to do that, it can just sit on a table in the room. So far it's working as expected.
