    Batteries included
    My grandson was fixing me breakfast as a surprise one morning when he burned the bacon causing the house to fill with smoke. I had installed the fire alarm the evening before and it alerted me before any damage could be done. Thankfully the batteries were included in the box or I may not have hooked the alarm up that night and things would have been much worse!

    Have bought smoke alarms , before. Before and now, they are dated almost a year ago. I kept them, knowing the life is "about" 9-10 years, but still a big question.
