My 4 year old loves it
I purchased this for my 4 year old for Christmas. The shipping was very fast. I ordered it on Monday and it arrived 2 days later! It did take about 2 hours to put it together but it really wasn't that hard. There are lot of screwes all different colors and while the instructions do not specifically say which color to use each step, it's really just matching. If the background is pink, use a pink screw, if the background is brown use brown. I only found two issues with the construction. First, at the very end you put the stairs in and have to screw them in from the bottom of the whole structure. The bottom stairs you have to lay the structure on it's back and the second floor stairs you have to practically lay in the structure only to struggle to get two screws in the right place. The second challenge was anchoring the structure. It was a challenge to just get the set up right and the anchor is only through the top particle board, which is not the most solid. However, my 12 mouth old has been putting herself up with it for almost a month now and it is holding up just fine. Finally there is one piece, I think it is a toilet, that has a button and even after putting in new batteries it still doesn't work. But overall it has been a great toy.

    Took forever to build but SO worth it! It took us about 3 hours but the directions were great and the house is gorgeous, very stable and tall, the accessories are great. My daughter was over the moon!

    SO CUTE FIT FOR YOUR LITTLE PRINCESS
    I received the Kid Kraft Storybook Mansion today and am very excited to surprise my granddaughter with it she loves to play with barbies and this will be really fun. First the FedEx guy left on the porch and I had to drag it in the house and it was very heavy (53 lbs I could barely drag it myself lol , when I opened the box there seemed to be millions of parts and you better be good at following directions to put it together, I know when I get my husband to put it together it's going to be a long day with lots of eye rolling, lol. But in the end it will be worth it to see her smile. It is very big the specs are 41.0 x 20.0 x 52.0 so it's gonna take up a lot of space.The furniture is really cute and is bright and girly and made for a princess, the canopy bed is so cute ,there's a bath tub and sink,no toilet, I guess barbie don't need it anyway lol and table with 2 chairs cute with hearts on them, not much of a kitchen only a stove I guess a princess doesn't need to cook anyway :) There's a throne room with a throne chair a grandfather clock and a spiral stair case, The entrance is nice with gold pillars and can be moved to where ever you want it or removed altogether. I just know any little girl who likes to play with her Barbies is going to love having a princess house for her to live and play in, So my granddaughter is going to love it and so will yours.

    Better than most!
    Back when I was a child, I got “hand me downs” for everything, that included toys, and one particular one was the Barbie (cardboard) doll house, so you can only imagine how impressed I was to see how this “mansion” materialized as my son-in- law assembled it. There were numbered pieces, but not only that, as it was laid out, the instructions had him assemble the doll house in the order of the numbered pieces. So, needless to say, it was well thought out and easy enough to put together, since he is not normally a “handy-guy”. I found it to be rather sturdy since the structural parts are made of wood, maybe pressboard albeit, quite heavy in the box. There are some building design that needed to be “molded” so it’s understandable that those parts are made of plastic, but for the most part, because it comes with furniture in just about every room, it’s so worth the value of making space for it. My grand-daughter has her doll house up against a wall, which is most favorable because if it was standing alone, like in the middle of a room, it can easily be knocked down if it is walked into by accident. She’s played with it a lot and enjoys everything about it. I can just see the wheels turning in her mind and her imagination unfolding as she plays with her play animals in there. As for a picture on the box or inside on a paper, there is none, so that would have been helpful for whoever has to assemble it. Other than that, there are no “residents” that come with the house, but I can see children using any dolls or critters in there. My grand-daughter has chosen to let her plastic tiger and lion live in there. Most children will have their own ideas. The furniture is well made, too. At least the chair, that looks like a throne is made of wood. I would recommend this doll house mansion to anyone, since it seems to have more durability than most.

    Dream Doll House for Adventure
    The KidKraft Storybook Mansion is a very well thought out and envisioned dream doll house that any girl would love to own. The mansion itself is bright and cheerful which just adds to the whimsy of this piece. The sections are made of wood and are very sturdy while not coming across as stiff and boring. No cheap plastic pieces here. Once it has been completely assembled the doll house stands at over 4ft tall which is actually taller than my niece that I got it for. She had a hard time reaching the tip top of the Mansion but she will grow into it. I mention that mostly because if you get this for smaller, shorter children then consider having something they can climb on to reach the top as well. The doll house works well with KidKraft dolls but also works just fine with any other dolls your child might want to use. My niece uses her Barbies and even Strawberry Shortcake. Assembly of the doll house took less than an hour. It works better if you can spread out while you are assembling the doll house so you can find the pieces you are looking for. I would have liked a picture of the actual doll house that I could reference as I was putting it together but aside from that the assembly process went well. The only other con that I would mention is that the box that the doll house comes in is just a very large (weighed over 60lbs) very plain brown box.(I included a picture of the box that was delivered on my front steps in this review) It did say KidKraft on the box but no pictures of the doll house or anything. It lead me to believe that this was just the box they used to ship it in but that was not the case. There was no super cute, bright and cheerful box within the plain brown box - just the pieces of the Mansion. I think it would be hard for little ones to get excited over getting this non-descript brown box. Since this was a gift I did assemble it and put a bow on it for my niece to see when she came over. I don't think she would've been nearly as excited just opening beautiful wrapping paper to see a brown box. This doll house has given her hours and hours of fun with her dolls and I can't recommend it enough.

    Beautiful KidKraft Storybook Mansion
    This is a little girl's dream castle! My daughter absolutely loves this storybook mansion. When it arrived, I opened up the box with her she and she wanted to play with it right away but I told her that daddy had to put it together. She understood thank goodness! I opened up a smaller box that contained the furniture and it was nice that most of it was put together so she immediately started playing with them. There's so much to love about this storybook mansion even though it took daddy close to 6 hours to put together it's so worth it! It's priceless to see the wonder and enjoyment that my daughter gets from playing with it. We did purchase 2 mini Barbie dolls for her to play with inside the castle and she sits them on the table and chair set to have tea. The furniture is nice and very fitting for this mansion. There are 14 detailed furniture pieces including a chandelier and a canopy bed that has lovely curtains. It's cute that the toilet has a button where you can flush it and hear the noise. There are 3 staircases that my daughter loves using. She walks her Barbie dolls up and down them and they end up in a different room through the openings. The rooms have lovely ornate decorations on the walls and floors. It is very well made so I'm sure my daughter will have many years of enjoyment with it. It also comes with a secure strap that you can secure the mansion to the wall which we did. It is well worth the time to put together and the instruction booklet was easy to follow. It weighs close to 53 lbs and is around 4 ft tall. I'm glad it fits perfectly in my daughter's room and it's gorgeous to see it every time I'm in there with her.

    Nice house...
    This doll house arrived very quickly. I should say up front this is heavy, 53 pounds I believe it said, due to it being wooden. So if you need to pick it up, arrange to have a helper. Just a thought. The pictures I took I wanted to get of how it arrives. Plain brown box. When you open it you expect to find another box with bright colorful pictures on it of the product inside, but what you actually find is the pieces. I bring that up because if your giving it as a gift you might want to think about putting this wooden doll house together first then perhaps wrapping it or putting z giant bow around it. Just a thought. Being this arrives unfortunately without a picture on the box, it makes it harder to assemble it. At least for me. I googled the picture to help me visualize it and compare pieces to what I was about to put where. Comes with instructions of course. I am a visual type person so that picture would of been a big help. Oh well. On ward we go. I took out all the pieces while she was at school in the living room, organized them, and put them in order of the booklet. Made things go smoother. So space putting this together is helpful. A helper to hand you the next piece is also really nice. ;-) once together, it looks beautiful. Sturdy. Big enough to work with most dolls you might already own, like barbie dolls. My daughter even uses the occasional stuffed animal, whatever works right? Bright fantastic colors. Thought went into each piece, every room. I can see this lasting for many years to come. I guess if this ever gets to the point of not being used it really would also be a cute fashionable shelf for treasures. Either way, makes a wonderful addition to any child's room. I would highly recommend this product to everyone. From what I have seen it is a wonderfully made doll house.!! Just make sure when ever you decide to assemble this to do it when you have plenty of time.
