Track is great, train cars are very poor quality
I purchased this set after my 3 year old started showing interest in trains. I figured for the price and piece count it would be a good starter set. Everything is good with the set except the trains themselves. The plastic wheels are very narrow and had chips and/or bumps on the wheels so they don't really roll on the track. They bounce and pops out of the groves. (Which for a three year old trying to play is like the end of the world) The magnets on the trains are really weak as well so they don't stay connected. I ended up buying Thomas train cars so he could play with it as intended.

    Great tracks - but train wheels don't move well
    The tracks are so cute and work great for my two year old. The tracks in general are 5 star - but I scored a 5 because the train that came with the tracks does not move well on the tracks. The wheels don't glide well even if they aren't connected to the other train parts. We can buy a different brand train easily.

    Wonderful Toy!
    It is a really fun set! Not just train, but airplane, helicopter and emergency vehicles! Best of all, it all fits right back in the plastic bin when finished playing.

    This is a really good train track set. I'm sure that it will provide hours of creative playing. The pieces work well with the other sets of track that we already had.

    Still playing with it after 4 years!
    We bought this for our son when he was around 2 years old, he has played with it at every age and stage! Still at 6 years old he enjoyed putting it together with my direction like a puzzle:) he is also fascinated with magnets so he loves the magnets that keep the trains together. He likes setting up the little city too! Great purchase!

    Great set! Worth the price
    Great train set for my 3yo, she loves it and lets her imagination run wild. The set has a variety of pieces that keeps her enterained for a long time. Well worth the price! I did see the low reviews prior to buying and was sceptacle of the magnets being weak. I figured i could swap out the magnets if needed. However, the issue turned out to be the plastic lip around the magnets, its too big! When the trains turn, it forces the magnet to disconnect. Instead of changing magents, I simply trimmed the plastic back so that the magnet is now sticking out more (see picture). The magnets work soo much better now! My kid can ride it in/off the tracks and the magnets hold on strong! Definitely a design flaw but easy fix in my books.
