Almost chipped a tooth!
I literally almost chipped my tooth eating this cereal due to the hard rock like granules in it. It's my first time purchasing and I liked the taste of the cereal, but randomly when eating I bit into one of the hard pieces and had such bad pain in my tooth. I'm so lucky I didn't chip it. I did a deep dive on the internet and this has been going on for over 10 years now with this product unfortunately. Wish I would've known! I will be contacting corporate (even though I doubt they'll do much) and I won't be purchasing again. Walmart should really consider removing this item from their shelves.

    Hard bits ruin this cereal
    It is not pleasant to bite down on the hard bits found in this cereal. See other reviewers with the same issue by putting "hard bits" in the search box. They appear to be a seed or part of a seed? I would love to hear from Kelloggs what the bits are. I appreciate this might be a "whole grain" but I still don't like them. I have not noticed them in the red berry Special K so I guess I'll stop buying the Original.

    Not what it used to be
    What happened to this cereal? Used to love it as a kid and hadn't eaten it in a long time so thought I'd give it a try. What a surprise, not like it was. Half the kernels were hard as a rock, thought I was going to break my teeth eating it. The flakes were also smaller and a lighter color than they used to be and lacking in taste. This has a lot of good reviews so maybe it was just a bad batch but doubtful I'll be buying it again anytime soon. Same with their corn flakes, they've the changed the formula and it's uneatable cardboard. Wish there was a generic alternative to this one but there never has been that I could find.

    I agree with the other negative reviews here, this cereal is basically inedible due to very hard granules in every bite. I haven't had this cereal in many years and don't remember it being like this back then. I will definitely never purchase again.
