Don't waste your money
I bought this primarily for the electronic counter/timer and the ability to adjust the tension on the steps. I already had an old stepper that had neither feature so I wanted to be able to see the number of steps and other data and be able to make it harder or easier. First the box this was delivered in was a mess, but NBD. It wasn't hard to assemble. The upper part is flimsy, no big deal--be careful not to topple over when using. But after about 10 steps, I decided to adjust the tension. It didn't seem any different, but I did notice the counter stopped counting and I couldn't get it to work again. I unscrewed the stand to see what was wrong and found the wire to the unit had snapped at the base even though it wasn't stretched. I tried splicing the wire back together, but there's no fixing it. Besides that, the tension adjuster doesn't really do anything. I would take the whole thing apart and return it, but it's been so much trouble dealing with it so far, it's not worth another minute after doing this review to save someone else from wasting their time and money. If you're looking for a stepper, just buy one that has no extras and no assembly--you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation.

    Was so excited .. then I opened the box and looks like it was someone's return! Scratches, broken pieces (end cap is split) and not even secure in polystyrene support. Will be returning.

    Big workout in small space
    I wanted a stair-stepper, but didn't have space for a standard one. This solved the problem. We tuck it in a corner that measures 20 x 20 inches and bring it out when we're ready to use it... it's that easy to move! It may seem a little "tippy" due to its light weight, but that goes away as soon as you put your weight on it. It's really remarkably designed and well constructed. It will have you breathing hard in a few minutes, and the resistance can be adjusted to increase your level of exertion. Due to its small size, it may not be perfect for a large man. But if you're average sized and need a stepper but don't have space for a big one - this is a great quality product for a reasonable price.
