Birds are happy again!
My old deicer, which I thought was the very best, died after many years of use. Now I'm glad that it died because I have this new K&H Deicer that uses way less energy yet does the job beautifully! And...it lays flat on the bottom of the birdbath! I'm happy, the birds are happy, life is good!!

Unit defective
Hay needle rep advised to call K&H. Was told Hay needle should have replaced. K&H has supposedly sent replacement after multiple "steps" to get replacement. Just wanted something to keep water available for wild life..

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/09/2022Good product that I would recommend to others.De-icer worked as advertised, keeping bird bath open during a period of 10 degrees or lower temps, including below zero temps at night. Only negative comment - the cord is too short. As it didn't reach ground level of bath, cord connection required above ground, combined weight pulled warmer from center of bath - forced to manufacture a clamping device to keep in position.Kenneth

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/30/2021Great de-icer!I bought this de-icer to replace one that I had for year that was made of metal and started rust. This de-icer is lightweight, easy to clean, doesn't look like it's capable of rusting, and fits below the water level of my birdbath. It's smaller than my previous de-icer, but just as powerful, so that means the birds get to enjoy more room in the birdbath! The birds seems to like it, and it is certainly keeping ice out of. Now that I see how well it works, I will be purchasing a second one of these de-icers to go with my other birdbath!Unknown

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/18/2021No Ice Skates Needed By Our Birds! This thing really does the trick and this 80 watt version is much better than the 50 watt one that pooped out on us after a couple of years. It also seems to lay flatter that the other one did. The only thing that can be a problem is that our cement birdbath has an island in the middle and sometimes it's difficult to place the defroster properly.Splish Splash

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser02/14/2017Nice little heaterI keep a heater in the bird bath so the birds have fresh water all winter. It only activates when it gets below freezing. The rest of the time it is off. The birds love it!barbie2449

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser01/12/2017Good little heaterI got this for my outside fish fountain to keep it from freezing in the winter. The fountain is a little bigger and deeper than most bird baths but it kept it from freezing until the temps dropped to around 0 F. At that point, I emptied the fountain and brought the fish inside. I'll probably put them out again with the fountain now that the temps are warming up into the 20s-30s. The goldfish like it. They will sit right next to it comfortably when the water starts to get icy.LoneBikerOfTheApocalypse

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/27/2016A birdbath heater that just worksIt simple; it works. Why my old one bought many years ago quit working is a mystery. The birds (and squirrels and whatever other four legged creatures that roam through my yard) are delighted that they can get a drink when it is very cold.upacrk1
