Okay Bottle, Good Hanger, Great Value
I was concerned about buying these bottles when I read the negative reviews, but my son's hamster had 6 babies, we needed a water bottle for each one, and I was trying to keep costs down. After having bought and setup 6 of these bottles, this is what I found: These water bottles do NOT leak if you follow the directions. 1) Make sure that the black rubber ring (gasket) inside the water bottle cap is seated at the bottom of the threads. If the ring is offset and gets pinched when you tighten the cap or is entirely missing then the bottle will leak from the cap. 2) Fill the water bottle all the way to the top so that it is FULL of water... not a quarter of the way, not half way, not three quarters... but completely FULL, the bottle MUST be filled until it is FULL or else it will leak. 3) Once the bottle is full and the cap is screwed on, turn the bottle upright and roll your finger across the metal ball in the tip to make sure water comes out. If it seems like there is not enough water coming out of the tip then hold the bottle with the metal tip down and give the bottle a gentle squeeze so that a few drops of water come out, then a gentle shake to get the air bubbles to float to the top, and finally check the tip again to make sure that water flows when the metal ball is rolled. If you think you've got a drippy bottle then you can place a small ceramic plate underneath the tip to catch the water and verify the problem without swamping your cage. If the bottle is dripping too much then take it out, rinse the bottle and metal tip thoroughly, fill the bottle completely full (ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP), check the tip to make sure water comes out when the metal ball is spun, and rehang the bottle. I had one bottle that seemed to drip more than the others but was able to get it to stop dripping by doing this. I recheck each bottle every time the hamster cages are opened to make sure they are not dripping and that they produce water when the metal tip is spun. I've only had them a week but all 6 work just fine.

I would like to say something good about this product. I bought 3 and every single one of them leaked. I need two per cage so needless to say I cleaned the cage put the bottles and had to clean the cage again since both bottles leaked. I have one bottle from 15 years ago. Not one issue. These new ones suck. Since the were only $3 a piece I'll consider this a lesson learned. Also the plastic is super thin. I dropped and empty bottle and it broke. This has a one star because I had to give it one.

Wire is to big to hold the bottle in place, otherwise it's a decent product.

    Won't work in a Tank
Even though the picture shows this as having the plastic aquarium holder, it only comes with the wire loop to hook it onto a wire cage. Disappointed.

Product now sold without white plastic spine
The picture online clearly shows the white plastic spine that the wire attaches to in order for the water bottle to be hung; however, lately; this entire year, they do not include the white plastic spine. I have been to numerous Walmart stores and none come with the white plastic spines. I have been patient waiting months for this issue to be resolved to no avail. Now, I have spent a lot of money trying to make these work with my old plastic spines but these new water bottles with white polk-a-dots are actually thinner so the old spines do not work. This product is useless without the white plastic spines.

Best bottle I've used so far!
Although it is just 8 oz., this is about the only one that I've tried that doesn't leak! I like it's small size and you can't beat the price!
