Best blender I've ever had!
This blender blends very well. Ice is smooth and chopped fine. There are only a couple speeds, but that's all you need. The glass blender jar has various bends in the glass to make the food/beverage blend better. The lid is a little too tight. It takes a little work to get off the blender jar. The filler cap in the lid has measurements on it and can be used as a little measuring cup for adding items to blend. It also comes with a stir spoon that has measurements on it to use to add items as well. The spoon fits in the hold on top of the lid to add items and scrape the inside of the jar if food gets stuck to the side. The jar and lid has a pouring spout with a lid on the spout. This is a very nice feature. The lid on the spout has a hinge where food/beverage can get when using the spout, and I have to make sure to clean in the hinge really well. The bottom of the blender has cord storage, which is handy. You stick the cord up inside the base of the blender to store it away. The jar fits together easily screwing together, and fits onto the base very easily. Overall, the blender blends food and beverages very well.

Where is the power?
I got this over the weekend and frankly I am disappointed with it. Things I liked about the blender: The blender itself looks great and will match most kitchen appliances. It has 4 main speeds. They are 4 speed settings: 1. Mix, Milkshakes, Easy Clean 2. Puree, Smoothies, Icy Drink 3. Pulse- Dice, Crush, Salsa 4. Pulse- Grind, Crush Ice. The Lid seals well and has a filler cap in the top so you can add ingredients to your blender, and also has a pour spout that is handy for pouring straight from the blender. This one also came with a sturdy plastic spoon that fit into the center of the top and reach well into the picture for stirring items for blending. The picture for the blender is made with glass and I do like that. The blender separates into several pieces the base, picture, lid, fill lid comes off for easy cleaning. The part I did not like: I loaded some frozen fruit along with a pint of milk and it did not want to blend it properly. I used the pulse a few times before I used the grind then I tried the mix setting and went back to pulse. To me it seems like It needs more power if it has that much trouble crushing berry. I had to add even more water to get it to the consistency that I wanted. But to be honest I am not used to using blenders as I haven't had one in quite a few years. I just feel like it needed more power to work more efficiently.

    Wonderful Blender
    The Hamilton Beach Blender is a great blender. I would recommend it to a friend and anyone who likes to make blended drinks. I have tried many blenders over the years and have always burned out the motors on them with in a few uses. I love to make blended drinks with crushed ice, so I gave the Hamilton Beach Blender a real work out prior to writing this review and it passed with flying colors. The glass canister for blending is great for keeping things chilled and I'm able to put it into the freezer and then go straight into the base and re-blend left over beverage. Past experience with other blenders I have had to chop up the beverage prior to re-blending or the motor would burn up. The 6 cup/ 48 oz. blending amount is wonderful also. The pour spout is wonderful addition to the lid, but make sure that you have something under it, there is a slight problem with leaking. Having the addition removable fill cap makes it nice when you need to add just a little more to the already made mixture. This particular Blender came with a handy stir spoon which makes it great when your mixture gets stuck, you don't even have to remove the lid to use it, fits right through the spout, just wonderful. Another really nice feature is that not only are all the parts dishwasher safe but the gasket on the bottom of the blades is attached, don't have to worry about keeping up with it while your canister is being cleaned or having it crack or stretch from use. I have been just ranting and raving about how wonderful this blender is and in my opinion it is just that. I would recommend this brand to a friend and to anyone who enjoys using their blender for making mixed drinks, that is crushed ice drinks.

    I Love This Blender.
    This is a Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender. Its always exciting to find out if these appliances do what they claim. Also how hard it is to break the pieces down to wash and replace on the blender. This blender has a 48 oz glass jar that has a spout on it that makes pouring easy. It works with a wave action system that pulls mixture into the blades for smooth results. And it does make a smooth smoothy. I made a strawberry smoothy using frozen straw berrys, plain yogurt, and milk. It mixed the ingredients up in a couple minutes with no problems. The smoothy turned out smooth, with no clumps. Unlike my previous blender did. That one sets on a shelf in my kitchen. I used it once, and it didn't work good. But this Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender does what it claims. This is going to be my favorite brand of blender. After using this blender, I took it apart to clean it. I had no difficulty putting the parts back into place. I would recommend this blender to anyone needing one. It's dish washer safe. Do not use the 'Sani' setting when washing in the dish washer.'Sani' cycles temperatures could damage this product. You can hand wash it too in the dish water. Of course don't put the the electrical parts in any water.

    Great for smoothies, shakes, & frozen drinks
    The Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender is ideal for making smoothies, shakes, & icy drinks. The 48 oz glass jar/pitcher has a wide mouth lid with a pour spout for easy pouring & removable filler cap all making for easy use. A large plastic spoon is included for thicker foods & mixtures. The spoon fits perfectly through the filler cap hole and allows for easy stirring and to add ingredients. The glass pitcher is dishwasher safe. There is a 3 yr limited warranty on this 700 Watt Peak Power Motor blender. The Wave-Action system pulls mixture into the blades for smoother results. This blender is great for blending vegetables for veggie drinks , salsa, and sauces. The five setting buttons are labeled as follows: On/off, Mix/Milkshakes/Easy Clean, Puree/Smoothie/Icy Drinks, Dice & Chop/Salsa/Pulse, Grind/Crushing Ice/Pulse. Another nice feature is the cord storage in the base. The power cord can be manually pushed into the opening easily. I really like being able to hide the cord! I am concerned with the cutter blade assembly because it is made of plastic. The blades are steel but the other parts are plastic. I am afraid the plastic wheels that engage the base motor and cutter blade assembly will break easily and/or wear down easily. My other blenders have had metal "teeth" assembly or more solid/thicker plastic type "teeth". Time will tell if these pieces are durable and long lasting. On the other hand, the selector buttons for the blender settings seem more solid and sturdy than other blenders I have had.

    This is a nice blender. I love the size of the pitcher and the fact that it is glass not plastic. There is a pour spout which is convenient for shakes and other liquids. It has a flip lid over the spout, so you can pour with out removing the whole lid. I have been able to make larger batches than I could with my previous blender which saves time. I have not had any issues with leaking like I did with my inverted style blender. No learning curve here. The buttons and settings are pretty straight forward. There are options for "on" and "pulse". The "wave" action comes from the shape of the glass pitcher. One side has a large indent, that once the blender is operating it pushes whatever is being mixed down and into the center. I have found this helps mix things quicker and reduces the amount of times you have to stop, open and push stuff that is added down. There is a convenient pusher/spoon gadget that fits through an opening in the lid. It works well when large chunks and large amounts of greens need a nudge into the mix. It can also be used to scrape thicker mixtures out of the pitcher. It has plastic gears, but what doesn't these days. As well as the housing and buttons. I got the grey, which is black and "grey"-- goes very well with other stainless appliances. It is light weight but doesn't move around the counter. Clean up is easy. You just unscrew the bottom, pop out the blade assembly and put it in the dishwasher. Bottom and blade attachment are top rack only.

    Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender
    The Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender is a fantastic purchase. We already own a higher priced blender (one of the more complex Ninjas), but wanted to get another blender for our vacation cabin. The Hamilton Beach Wave Action Blender did not disappoint! Thus far, we've only used it to make smoothies and margaritas. I was surprised to see how quickly and finely it chopped up the frozen fruit and blended it into a consistent and smooth result. It also chopped through the ice for the margaritas very quickly, resulting in a nice texture for our frozen adult beverages! The blender comes with a stir spoon, which is a nice addition, although, not really necessary. I used it the first time, but forgot about it subsequent times, and went back to my normal spoon. The pour-spout is also a nice feature in that you're not constantly battling the drip you get when the lid is off. The design of the blender is great in that the base is small and lightweight, making it much easier and less cumbersome to store. It also looks great when sitting out on the counter. I'm looking forward to making several other items using this blender. Overall, I would highly recommend this blender.

    Overall good design, works well
    I've used the Hamilton Beach Wave Action blender to make milkshakes, smoothies and frozen margaritas and it works well. Attractive design in metallic gray with chrome front panel, easy to push buttons and a nice thick glass jar. The wave action really does work- you can see the liquid being directed back down into the blades to ensure thorough chopping/blending as it's running. It's much more effective at crushing ice and than my old one (different brand). I like the fact that it's dishwasher safe and when I'm done I can easily take it apart and put every piece (except the motor base obviously) in the dishwasher and it comes out clean and ready to use again. The cord is 2 feet long (which is fine for normal use) and you can push it back up inside the base for storage. There are 5 buttons- Off, Milkshake (slow continuous), Puree (fast continuous), Dice (slow pulse) and Grind (fast pulse). The center cap comes off the top cover so you can add ice, liquid or vegetables and it has a nice big pour spout also. My only small issue with it is that the black cover on the top is a little difficult to remove (reason for 4 stars). However, since it is such a tight fit, it prevents the top from accidentally falling off and also prevents leaks. It does list 3 basic recipes in the instructions. Overall a good design and reasonable price. I'd recommend.

    Snazzy Wave Blender
    I just received this blender to try out. It is a sleek nice looking gray blender that would match any kitchen with stainless steel appliances. It has 4 main speeds (unlike 12 or 14 speeds), but has 700 watts of power. The following are the 4 speed settings: 1. Mix, Milkshakes, Easy Clean 2. Puree, Smoothies, Icy Drink 3. Pulse- Dice, Crush, Salsa 4. Pulse- Grind, Crush Ice. It has a lid that seals down around the glass jar tightly and has a pour spout with a hinged cap. The filler cap in the top middle of the lid can be opened to add ingredients while blending, or put the large stir spoon with scoop in to mix around the ingredients as blending. I like the nice deep scoop spoon it comes with. It is a nice sturdy plastic. The rubber ring is attached to the cutting blade which is nice. Most of the time they are loose and are always getting lost. You can blend hot soups in this glass jar without breakage. It has a 3 yr. warranty, but you have to return it to Hamilton Beach not the store. It says it has wave action, but it doesn't seem to look much different to me when blending than the regular circular motion you see in most blenders. I put some water and a lot of ice to crush up for an icy drink; but I had to take it down to about half full to get rid of any cubes. It was totally nice and slushy though. Then I tried putting some water and chunks of apple in it (seeds and all) and it made mincemeat out of them. It worked great on ice cream for malts. Overall this has the power, and it as good or better than most blenders I've had.

    Good blender for everything but ice.
    This blender has got very classy sharp looks, it is about 10 lb in weight and comes with a mixing/adding spoon. The jar itself is a heavy, durable glass and holds 48 oz/6 cups of liquid. On the front of the stand you can find pretty easy to use display with only 5 buttons : 1. On/Off button, 2. Mix/Milkshake/Easy clean button, 3.Puree/Smoothie/Icy drink button, and two pulse buttons : 1. Dice/Chop button, 2. Grind/Crush ice button. The blender is not too big in size or height and is very easy to store anywhere in the kitchen, also is very easy to clean as it has got an easy clean button for your convinience. The cord is not too long, about a foot long which makes it uncomfortable at least for me to be able to plug it in just anywhere in the kitchen outlet. This blender blends milk/milk products very well, mixes and chops fruits and vegetables great and fast. The only reason why i gave this product a 4 out of 5 stars rating is because first of all i put it to a test to crush some ice cubes for the drinks. After putting several ice cubes in, I pushed the very last pulse button for grinding/crushing ice, and it failed a test. The blender probably crushed about one ice cube out of 6 and the rest of them were just sitting there while the blades kept on spinning. So in case if you are trying to get the blender that will perfectly crush ice for party drinks, this one is not for you. It works great for chopping and pureeing fruits and vegetables but is not strong enough for crushing ice at all. Other than that its a beautiful piece of a small kitchen appliance, it stores easily, washes easily, has got a very convinient lid opening on top of the lid for easy pouring and does its job with anything else but ice.
