Awesome
Shipping: excellent - arrived NEXT day (delivered on a Saturday!!!!)
Product: excellent - easy to use. Made low-carb bread the same day it arrived....served hot with butter & home-made chili!
Clean-up: easy - popped the pan and paddle right into the dishwasher. When dry, just placed it back into the machine.
Overall: excellent - the ONLY con I have with this item is its size. Make room for it because it's large and takes up a pretty big space on the counter. I plan to store it and only bring it out when I bake because it takes up quite a bit of space. I have always hesitated baking my own bread because of the yeast thing. But with this machine, I can bake fresh bread and serve hot. Nothing better. Thanks Wal-mart for a great value!

Both good and bad results
1st (3 hour) white bread loaf was fine, so we next tried a (1 hour) express loaf and it turned out okay to. Next we did a Italian Parm and Onion loaf and they were okay just needed some extra seasoning next time. We then tried a cake but it fell apart when we tried to dump it out. Maybe we didn't let it cool long enough? Also the outside seemed too brown so we tried another cake with a different method. We mixed up the recipe like the box said and poured it in machine but chose the bake cycle (12) instead of cake cycle (10) and it turned out better plus saved 1hour and 50 minutes. Yes, a cake cycle is2 hours and 50 minutes! Might as well used our toaster oven. We checked it 1st before removing with a shish-k-bob stick to make sure a hour was enough baking time. We then made 2 Banana nut breads the same way only added a couple banana's and a half cup of chopped nuts to the recipe on the boxes and added about 10 more minutes to the bake cycle and they turned out fine. Nice and moist. Pound cake was a little thick but okay. Their corn bread recipe stuck to the sides and fell apart bad when we tried to get it out. Next time we will coat the sides with oil as the recipe doesn't call for any (a misprint?) and just use the bake cycle instead of the 40 minute longer cycle 4 it calls for.
Though it was hard to find a store that carries the vital wheat gluten, we did manage to find some so we made the whole wheat next. It turned out thick and didn't seem to rise at all. Tried a second loaf, same results. Also the next white loafs did not raise but maybe half way. A heads up, when making a express loaf(1 hour) it will ask you to use warm water and instant yeast were the 3 hour bread recipe will tell you to use cold water and bread machine yeast. Also instructions will tell you not to pack the flour by scooping it which we were careful not to do. We carefully measured everything exactly. We don't know why some turned out fine and others didn't as we used the same fresh yeast.
We haven't tried dough, jam, white wheat or french bread recipes that are in its manual yet.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser08/19/2022Perfect loaves of bread! This bread machine is wonderful. I read the reviews for other machines 4x the price and most said you have to experiment as it takes several tries to get a decent loaf. I followed the 1.5 lb recipe in the manual for french bread and the first loaf was absolutely beautiful. I just made a second loaf, orange-cranberry walnut, and again beautiful and delicious. With the first loaf I forgot to change the size from 2 lbs (if cannot be changed once started) so I was concerned, however, I think the extra kneading helped; I left it on 2 lbs for the second loaf, too. I highly recommend the product and plan to buy one for my sister as a gift.April

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser07/31/2022House smells amazing Making bread now. There's nothing I don't like about this bread maker. Find a Recipe, add the ingredients in the correct order, set the machine to the right setting, push start and wait for the aroma of fresh bread to fill the house. There are recipes that come with the machine , and there are endless recipes online. there are so many kinds of bread that you can make I couldn't begin to list them all. Also, you can make cakes, jam, pizza dough, sweet breads, french bread. Begin the hunt for your favorite recipe while you wait for your new Hamilton Beach Machine to arrive, or even better, head to Walmart and get it today, you could have fresh bread with no preservatives before the day is through. Pictures are Banana and milk and honey white bread. For slicing I recommend an electric knife, great slicing every time. I would buy this again, very happy with it, and you can't beat Walmart pricing.Barry

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/15/2021No more store bought bread!I decided to buy a bread maker because as a European we eat a lot of bread and the store bought bread feels like you're eating a sponge! Also bread is one of the most preservatives added food and the organic ones are almost $6 a bag and they taste like you are eating fabric! I make my own bread but its getting to be a hassle to be in the kitchen for a couple of hours every 3-4 days. What I love about this machine is, you throw the ingredients in the container, you hit the power button and that's it! Two and a half hours later you have a delicious loaf. The consistency, texture and volume of the loaf are a solid 10. It comes with a book of recipes for different kind of breads, I have tries a few and they are all a success, just stick to the recipe. Using the device is really simple, literally 2 buttons are involved and the cleaning is super easy. Very happy with the Hamilton beach brand, cheaper than the competitors and excellent resultsGeorgio

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser04/06/2020Excellent ApplianceThis bread maker comes with 2 paddles, so a spare is included. It can make many different things including jam and cake. So far I've made a loaf of bread and pizza dough and both came out very well. I really like how clear the instructions were for using this bread maker and the chart that shows how long the process will take until the product is finished. I place it on my glasstop stove to prevent it from "walking" off the counter's edge when it kneads the dough. The only negative is that the bread maker has to be turned to the side to lift the lid under the cabinets to add the ingredients, but that in no way takes away any stars from the rating. I would definitely recommend this bread maker!Suzanne

4.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/31/2016GF bread simplifiedGF bread requires different timing to get a decent loaf that rises correctly. This machine for the price is doing it. I still think the one rising would be better, but I am getting great bread simplified.Kraftfully

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/01/2016It is quite easy and delightful.First time using a bread maker and it worked out perfectly. I did follow everyone's tips about keeping the crust on the lightest setting. Not sure how it will turn out on any darker settings. I just grabbed a recipe off the Internet, followed the bread makers instructions on which ingredients to put in first (there is a illustration in the manual), pushed a few buttons and 3 hours later......we have this!!!! Forgive the amateur photo and paper plate, this pic was originally for my mom. Lol.Saraheliz7

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser09/04/2016Great Machine for the Price!I bought this bread machine ''On Sale''.. ($38.00) So far, I've made 2 loaves of bread... I'm IMPRESSED with this machine, it can do so much more than just bake bread .. I purchased bread machine flour & yeast with my order... So far, each LOAF has been FANTASTIC.... You can't beat the price, so don't let that scare you... It makes 1# 1.5# & 2# Loaves... Lots of choices, so easy to choose from the ''control panel'' ... Very easy to clean, comes with 2 ''paddles'' as well... I like the fact that the ''Container & Paddle'' are all inside, nothing to spill out into the interior of the bread maker, like my old ''BreadMan'' is... The Container & paddle are ''non-stick'' which makes the bread so much easier, it slides out nicely!! The bread comes out ''square'', I've added a photo of ''Herb Bread'' from a recipe on ''Allrecipes.com''.... Fantastic Flavor... try it too.... BUY IT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!!!dreilman
