Hot H2O in Minutes
When you're dealing w/ the heat and humidity on the east coast, the last thing you're thinking about drinking is hot anything. So mid-Summer isn't the greatest time to try out this product. It doesn't matter that you can have fresh brewed tea or coffee in minutes when it's EXTRA hot and muggy all day every day. It feels like it's 1000° around here. But, then you remember that ice exists. Hello, Iced Tea. How ya doing, Iced Coffee? This kettle is very simple to use. The water measurement guide is right there under the handle so you can easily see the max water line. You sit it on the little heating element, flick the switch and let it do it's thing. I kinda/sorta timed it and it was piping hot in less than three minutes. That may vary according to the amount of water you're heating up. I assume that if you're just heating up a single cup of water, it would probably be faster. After you're done the cord wraps neatly and securely in the bottom of the heating element. It's relatively tiny, so it can fit anywhere on your counter, a cabinet shelf or on your desk. It's cute too, the stainless steel looks good. I highly recommend this Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle. It will get used a lot this summer for Iced tea/coffee making purposes, but I know that it will be used daily in the colder months.

Good for quick boiling water
I drink tea in the mornings and some times would like a second cup but don't want to have to boil more water, so when I got this I thought it would be able to stay warm once it automatically shut off, but it cools off fairly fast, but then again it can boil pretty fast also. The Hamilton Beach 1 L Stainless Steel Electric Kettle is the perfect size for me. The element plate it sits on seems a little small and sometimes is difficult to find the center to sit it on and doesn't seem very stable and would tip easily, so I wouldn't trust it around kids, the stainless steel does get very hot so I wouldn't touch it even the lid is hot to touch if you had to touch it to shut. It is nice that there isn't a plug once removed from the plate thing. To me this is only good if you don't have a stove or live in a dorm room and need to boil water other wise why not just use your stove, it doesn't stay hot once shuts off so just takes up counter space, but if you need for someone that you don't want to operate a stove or who would forget to shut it off then it would work great for them

    Great Electric Kettle!
I really liked this Hamilton Beach 1 L Stainless Steel Electric Kettle. It does just what it claims: "It's faster than a Microwave and Safer than a Stovetop Kettle." It is meant to only be used to heat up water, no other liquids. When it does, it's lightening fast! It has a base that it easily sets onto--nothing to snap into position. What makes it safer than a stovetop kettle is that it will automatically shut off if the water level gets too low (and also once the water is boiling). You can shut it off manually with ease also. My only complaint I have about this Kettle is that it has a strainer that fits just inside the spout. You're supposed to remove it every so often to clean off impurities. While it does have a tab to grasp for this purpose I found it exceedingly difficult to remove the strainer, and once I had removed it, it was as difficult to replace. This might make some consumers a little reluctant to clean it as often as it might need. I know it discourages me. But overall, I'd say yes, by all means DO get this Electric Kettle!

    Good Kettle
Good looking kettle, fashionable stainless steel. Within the first few seconds of turning it on, you can hear it beginning to heat up. It only takes a few minutes for it to reach boiling. To fill, there is a lid opener button on top of the handle. It works easily and smoothly, and pops open the lid for filling. There is a water level on the outside under the handle, to see how high it's filled. It's max fill level is 1 liter. The lever to turn it on is lit up when it is on. The on/off is a switch on the lower side of the kettle. The metal on the outside of the kettle does get hot, but the black plastic on the bottom and lower sides of the kettle and handle remain cool and touchable. So you can remove it from the heating element and set it on a table or counter. The kettle is for water only. There are warnings on the packaging that if you use it for anything else it will void the warranty. I use it to boil water, for making tea and hot chocolate. But you can use it to heat water for anything. Much easier and faster than using the stove to boil water.

1 min or less to a hot cup of beverage, etc.
Hamilton Beach 1 L Stainless Steel Electric Kettle The kettle is great for everyday use and dorm room use, it really heat up fast; add filtered water turn it on and it starts boiling water, it takes 1min or less for you to have a hot cup of tea, or hot water for instant food such as oatmeal, miso soup, instant soup etc. I used it for tea and I used filtered cold water. This kettle is just what I needed for busy mornings that sometime force me to reheat my tea. This cute little kettle allows me to get things done and when I am ready to have a cup of tea I can have it literally when I am ready to sit down to drink it or fill my container and take it out the door with me. The base does not attached to the kettle it will not move unless you move it, you just place your kettle on top, press the start button and you're all set. I have made it a point to get rid of my left over water immediately after use so that I won't forget to leave it in kettle. Remember the bottom of the base does not move with the kettle something I had to get use to.

Hamilton Beach 1 L Stainless Steel Electric Kettle
Hamilton Beach 1 Liter Stainless Steel Electric Kettle boils water faster than a microwave just as they claim. Light weight kettle has a removable anti-scaling mesh filter in the pour spout. Safe “no burn” features such as concealed heating element, auto shut off should you boil the kettle to dry, cord free serving from kettle and light so that you know the kettle is on. Cord wraps into the base for easy storage. If you use hot water often this would be a really good basic kettle. It is quick, smart looking design and compact so it could be left on the kitchen counter.

    How to safely boil water!
Boiling water is easy but I hate it. There are too many things that go wrong instead of right. On the stove, if you watch it takes forever! If you don't, you can easily forget and most of it is gone or worse. The ultimate nightmare is microwaving since you can easily overexcite the water past the boiling point and one slight bump will cause an eruption. Here is where the Hamilton Beach kettle excels at safety. The kettle has a clear indicator with gauge from 0.6L to 1.0L by the handle to see how much is in it. Set it on the base with a knob in the center to hold it still. Only one switch to turn it on that lights up so you know it is on. Once it is on you know it is going since you hear it revving up and 1.0L took about 3 minutes. Then it shuts off. Easy. Neither the handle or base were hot except for the stainless steel. There is a great filter right at the spout to prevent splashing when you pour out the hot water. The top stays locked since there is a button above the handle to keep it in place. I don't know how many times the to to a tea pot wanted to come off and it is the last thing you really want to grab with hot water in it. Rinse it with tap water, the stainless steel instantly cools and you can wipe it down so it is ready for next time. It is modern, sleek and perfect for hot water in about the time it takes to get a mug and your product of choice ready. I love it!

    Great Electric Kettle
My old electric Kettle had worn out, so I was excited to get this Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Electric Kettle which is really nice. It looks elegant enough to leave on the Kitchen Counter and I like that it comes with a Filter inside the Spout. The Label on the Box promises that this Kettle boils water faster than Stovetop, so I did the comparison. I used the measurement on this electric Kettle and poured 0.6 L in my old Enamel Stovetop Kettle and then filled this Electric Kettle to 0.6 L again and then started both at the same time. The Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle shut off with boiling water after 2:57 minutes, while my Enamel Kettle started whistling on the gas-stove after 4:03 minutes. So this Electric Kettle boils 0.6 L water faster by over a minute, which is great when you've got to rush in the Morning and every minute counts. There is really nothing to complain about this Hamilton Beach Electric Kettle. The Lid is attached and pops open by pushing the button, good for not loosing the Lid in the Morning rush. The measurement might be a bit hard to read since it's a bit covered by the handle, so you have to jiggle the Kettle a bit and peek around the handle to see how much the Kettle is filled with water, but otherwise, I love this Kettle and would definitely recommend it.

A great product for heating water quickly
The Hamilton Beach Stainless Steel Kettle is a very good product. It heats water very quickly and can heat enough for more than one dish or beverage. Before receiving the product, I heated water in the microwave, which was time consuming and messy. Now the water is heated in seconds and there is no mess. The product has a window for viewing the amount of water in the kettle. There is a filter in the spout to catch any scale in the water. The filter is removable. For storage, there is a cord wrap under the bottom of the base. When the water is hot, the kettle removes very easily from the base. If you've forgotten to turn off the power switch, it is automatically turned off when taken off the base. Its a useful product with one very specific purpose. However it is a very commonly used item.

    Quick and Easy
If you are single or have a child about to go to college this is an absolute must have! Even if you are like me and have a family it is still very useful. It heats water in just a few minutes. I timed it, and one liter of slightly cool water takes four minutes and thirty seconds to come to a full boil. Hot tea, cold tea, ramen, cup-o-soup, and oatmeal are just a few things that come to mind that would be perfect to make with this useful little tool. I was planning to use it just for tea, but my teens quickly took it over for snack duty. One note though, it will only boil water, and nothing but water. It says all over the instructions to not place anything but clean water into it. It is very easy to use. Plug it in, fill the kettle with water to the water line, place it on its base, push the button down, wait until the light in the button turns off, and enjoy boiling hot water. The base of the kettle fits up into a small hole in the bottom of the pot so that both sit snugly together, but the pot part can set flat on a cabinet or table without the base. Even after it is just heated the bottom of the pot is cool enough to do this. The sides do get hot so you will need to be careful, especially around small children, not to touch it. The pour spout is wide, which makes it easy to empty quickly into another container. The lid does not come completely off; it is spring hinged, which means you won't have to hunt it down every time you want to use the kettle. The handle is easy to grip and is cool to the touch. I have even picked it up with wet hands (not that I would advise you to do that). When I picked this kettle out, for some reason I thought it was battery powered. This is not the case. It plugs in. Other than that I am surprised at how much I have used it in such a little time.
