Terrible Laptop
Straight out of the box it's horrible. Hard Drive stayed maxed out at 100%. CPU was at 60%. RAM was at 50%. Speakers were busted. Came with lots of bloatware installed so I downloaded Win10 and deleted C & D drive and did a fresh install and then updated all drivers. I got rid of all bloatware, CPU came down 0% & RAM came down to 34% when idle. Hard Drive stayed 100%. So I repacked it back up and took it back to Walmart.

    You'll get your money's worth.
I bought this computer in feb 2017. So I've used for almost 4 years. I did the math... that's a little over $70 a year. I did not give 5 stars because the battery is dead. Works fine plugged in but I cannot use without the cord which is the major function of having a laptop. To be free! They say these batteries will run 2-4 years so I'm not disappointed. I will leave this one in my home office and get another for travel (though not much of that happening in 2020).

A review to clear the air.
Ok, first things first. If you are purchasing a new computer, it helps to know what you're going to be using it for. Most users can - and should - purchase a Chromebook if you intend to do little more than check emails, browse the internet and play some games. In these instances, a Chromebook will be infinitely more useful to you. My main computer at home is a Chromebook because of the reasons listed above, plus the fact that a Chromebook is so much quicker, more reliable and less of a pain in the butt in general. For instance, there aren't daily updates that render the Chromebook useless for hours on end. I purchased this HP computer because on occasion, there are things that a Chromebook simply can't do. For instance, you won't find a Chromebook with a DVD player because there is simply no need for one. You can't really install off the shelf software for a Chromebook. So if you need to install software, then you need to ask yourself what kind of performance that software will need out of a computer. This computer is not particularly quick or well equipped with things like graphics memory or RAM. To that end, if you're thinking of doing some high-end gaming, this will not be the PC for you. ALSO - If you haven't already figured this out, Windows is TYPICALLY inundated with crapware. That is to say, things you should be able to decide on your own whether you need or not. So plan on spending half your day uninstalling that software, and note that Chromebooks don't really have that problem at all. If you're looking at a computer that costs $300, then there's a chance that you weren't looking for a performance PC at all. And so you will be getting pretty much your money's worth. If I had a single piece of advice to give you, it would be to purchase one of each as I have. Get a Chromebook for that quick email check and internet browse and then get a laptop like this for those slightly more intensive tasks. Keep in mind that if you're just thinking of word processing or spreadsheets, Google includes those as native on the Chromebook. One last piece of advise. Spring for a Logitech K400 keyboard and an HDMI cable and connect the laptop to your big screen tv. You won't regret it. I hope this long review has helped you in some way.

    Beautiful Laptop
Very pleased with this purchase. Older laptop decided it had had enough and needed to be replaced. Went to Walmart website to read up on laptops they offered. I saw this particular laptop, read up on the specs and felt it would serve my purpose. Placed my order with ease. It came right on time as promised and was well packed. Was very easy to set up right out of the box. Update on Windows 10 was done with ease. So far I feel I made the right purchase. Coming from Windows 8.1 to learning Windows 10 was a breeze. The outer case is a beautiful red. My older laptop was 10 yrs old, they have come a long way since then. Having a great time learning all the wonderful things this laptop (programs) does. Recommend for seniors needing an everyday laptop.

    Great Laptop For Price!
I was sent this laptop by Walmart to give my honest review and so far so good. I have two daughters ages 6 and 7 that have been using this laptop to watch movies, play games and read books online. The graphics are great. It's fast, lightweight and holds a charge longer than I expected. The only negative I've found is the touchpad is sensitive, but this issue can be solved with the purchase of a wireless mouse. All in all I am very happy with the laptop and my kids love it as well. Walmart compensated me for my content, but my review is 100% my opinion.

A Laptop for the Whole Family
This is a great laptop the whole family can use. My kids use it for homework and games without having to tie up my work computer which has always been an issue in the past. It’s lightweight design makes it easy for them to carry around the house and move from room to room. It has a 500gb hard drive so I wont have to worry about them filling it up anytime soon. It’s not super powerful but gets the job done and is a great “first time PC” for the kids. Plus, can’t beat that price! Walmart compensated me for my content, but my review is 100% my opinion.

Hard to beat for this price
I bought this laptop for my 4th-grader and he loves it. When researching, I wanted a laptop with decent on-board memory (4GB is plenty) as he plays a number of games, good on-board storage (500GB is overkill but, again, more than enough), Win10 standard, and an on-board DVD-RW drive (something I neglected to check for when I bought a Dell a few months ago for one of my other kids). This laptop had it all! Out of the box, set up was simple... we were connected to our home wifi within minutes. It also comes with 30-days free McAfee security... I already have a McAfee subscription for all the other computers in our home, so adding this one to that subscription when its free subscription runs out won't be an issue. Battery life seems to be really good, all the ports (USB, headphone, etc.) work fine. Oh, it also has a 10-key keypad... not a big feature for my kid, per se, but I find that feature to always be a great "nice to have". All in all, really good laptop. I probably should have given it 5 stars... but since I find few things to be "perfect", I'll be stingy with that last star! :-)

    Wasn't what I expected!
I was debating on whether or not to get this due to the reviews, but extended research I decided to go ahead and call ahead to see if it was in-store just in case. I don't plan on returning this device. Bought it for my daughters' birth-day and wanted to make sure I could get her something she could enjoy that wouldn't cost too much. I opened it, started it up, updates didn't take longer then expected, and just wow. It's quick with response time, great on screen clarity, graphics pretty darn good in this little big guy. She enjoys watching movies, reading online books that we can't locate at our library and playing Sims 3. It runs everything very smooth with 0 hiccups so far, going on 3 weeks of ownership. Took a bit to get used to Win 10 since I've yet to update my PC from Win 7, but wasn't hard to browse through it to get the swing of things ended up upgrading my PC. The webcam is actually pretty good quality given it's on a laptop, mic is so so but that's also a given yet it's not horrible.
