I love the way it shows you what it has
I hocked it up to internet and registered my computer. I love the way word, excel, and all the others worked. It helps you and shows you the way to do other things. I love the touch screen, and the way it can talk to you.

Did not have good luck with this.
I bought this as an in store pick up 12/23/16, and it did not work. Called HP and they said it was a faulty hard drive and they could have it picked up. I told them I'd just return it to Walmart. I returned it on the 12th, and was told I'd waited too long, it had to be returned by the 9th. I have cancer and did all my shopping online and had my kids pick it up as a present. I didn't realize there was such a short return time, which is my own fault. I won't be buying any more electronics this way.

    Excellent workhorse machine.
This is not my first hp machine, and I am generally pleased with their computers. I bought this specifically for work. I transcribe many pages of dictation daily, and I needed a sturdy, responsive keyboard, large enough screen for looking at documents, and a sturdy base that works for desktop or tabletop use. I got all those things. Overall, this is a quick, responsive machine with more storage than I'll ever use and very nice screen graphics. The reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that I cannot change the stiffness of the keyboard. Fortunately, I am flexible in that area and can adjust to its somewhat tight operation. The hp chromebook is better in that respect, by the way.

    Excellent purchase
Bought this when an older started going out. It was inexpensive and has the features I was looking for. It is a quick laptop and has plenty of room. I like a CD/DVD on mine and this has that. It has some programming on it and many others available for it. Had a son do some minor adjustments on the drivers and it works like a champ. Very happy with this unit and it has not given me any problem.

    Surprising
Wasn't sure how I'd like this "budget" laptop, but I'm happily surprised. I bought it for my 12 year old for his birthday knowing that he'll use it for watching DVD's on road trips and maybe Vudu/Flixster/Amazon Prime, with some occasional email and internet use. Fired it up last night and got everything set up and configured in less than an hour. The only issue is that with Windows 10 it helps if you have a Microsoft account (like hotmail, outlook.com, etc), but we skipped that and was able to add his gmail account in the native email app without issue. It's way lighter than my 17" laptop, seems to have adequate quantity of ports for RJ45, USB, etc. The DVD-RW was a must have and wifi hooked up immediately. It's a speedy little thing with a decent since hd. Should last him for awhile and frankly, has me wondering if it's time for me to get a new one!

    H-P computer
This is good laptop, It is lightweight, sturdy and the screen looks good. It has Windows 10 installed, so no upgrade to this OS is needed. It has all the features an operator needs to start working out of the box. It does need to do some start up updates, as all new computers do, but these don't take long to do. The hardest part is waiting for the start up work to finish. The wireless connection is great, no hunting for the wireless button to switch it on. It has a CD-ROM drive which is a plus for using CD's to upload music files, or installing drivers for peripherals. I have found this computer very easy to use and have little difficulty getting the start up window to appear. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good, quality computer. you can't go wrong with an H-P.

Great screen. Windows 10? Consumer Reports Yeah!!
If you DON'T know Windows 10, get help! The screen is great, sound is good! Better than any laptop I've owned. Consumer Reports rates this model well also. Tablets are different, if you are used to a laptop, stick with it. The keyboard is great. If you are not used to the pad, get a mouse!! bc the screen changes sizes/very sensitive, so that you have to use CTRL and - or + to reduce or increase size. (I have nerve damage in hand so be careful if you have any sensitivity) I have enjoyed this HP vs. a lifetime of DELL. I did have trouble with the last 2 dell laptops and this was recommended by Consumer Reports and I did get a 2 yr warranty thru WalMart, recommended since it's only $45?

I am very displeased with this purchase!
First of all, I don't feel this computer is new. I have had it for about a week now and every time I turn it on, it has a surprise for me 1: When I place my left hand down on the left side of panel (left of pad), the screen shakes!!! I feel there is loose connection and everytme pressure is placed in that section, it is shorting out! 2.The screen fickers without me doing anything!!! 3.The color is faded. Even if I adjusted the color scheme. 4. I have spent many hours setting up this computer just to find out that it's defective!! 5. I will return it one more time and I hope to get a replacement that will work. 6. I hope to get some type of compensation for this. I have spent many hours getting your computers to work only to find out it's defective!!!

    Reminds me my old 286
I needed a laptop with a DVD player so when the internet is out (which has been a lot lately) I can watch movies. Movies it actually does well, unfortunately the audio quality is very poor as the sound constantly cracked. As a computer both on and offline it is quite slow and often times when checking on CPU usage it frequently shows nothing running in the task manage but using 97 to 100% CPU while doing nothing. Another problem was touchpad settings would be lost every time you rebooted, among with very slow startup and frequent lockups, cursor jumping all over the screen and closing programs for no reason....this is my 6 the Windows 10 device and will be the last as all the others had similar problems.....no more Windows 10. The bright side is my Next book Ares 8 looks a lot better and will get a DVD player adapter for it and back goes the laptop and that dismal Windows 10.
