Fantastic Followup
Great second book in the Red Queen series. Great character development and a story that will really pull at your heartstrings.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but…
I can't believe I'm saying this, but Glass Sword was just not for me... It was one of my highly anticipated reads of the year and it was so painfully boring that it wasn't even funny... Reading should not feel like a chore, but with this one it felt like just that. The plot was underdeveloped... I craved excitement. The romance was basically non existent... I actually wanted Maven back? & the story was so slow paced that it took me two weeks to finish it. I wanted to be blown away and I expected more since Red Queen was awesome, but this one just felt lack luster to me. I'm sure others will eat up Aveyard's words, but I wanted to close the book and mark it DNF. I did get some good feels in certain scenes, but for the most part it was just a bunch of information that I didn't care about. Mare came off as a royal b* and I actually felt bad for everyone that had to deal with her. In Red Queen she was an empowering leader... Well don't expect that in this sequel. She was the puppeteer controlling everyone around her. She completely disconnected with her family showing no emotion at all and was constantly trying to manipulate people with her words. I couldn't believe how much I disliked her in this book. It was quite sad because I was actually hoping for a new love to get the focus off of her... Maybe Cameron and Cal? Now that would have been an awesome twist. All in all... This one just didn't do it for me. I hope that other readers love it, but my advice is... If you loved Red Queen, lower all expectations.

I really liked this book, not…
I really liked this book, not because it's all making sense. I don't get a lot of it. Hell, I don't think the characters even get a lot of what's going on either. Everyone is just running around being insane pretty much. But I want to know how it ends so badly. I'm completely wrapped up in this madness. I need the next book already!

This went downhill in a hurry. It lost all the pacing of the first novel, it was v. tropey, and the characterization was inconsistent at best. :( Was hoping for much better.

Gah, I can't decide how I feel about this one. Decent plot, interesting powers, ok side characters, but wow her voice can be excruciating. Started a 2, ended a 4, so here we are.

    OMG - this was another...
OMG - this was another fantastic addition to the series, the pain and the torment that this heroine goes through - you can just feel the emotion and you cringe at every trap, every gruesome torment that the Silvers put our Red Queen through. It has a slight romantic underlying tale, but it is not the focus of our lead character, which is nice for the guys.

I liked this book a lo...
I liked this book a lot more than Red Queen and I love when sequels turn out better than the first book in the series, but there was just something about Mare that rubbed me the wrong way. I understand her guilt, I GET it, but I didn't like reading about it every other page. I found that sort of annoying, actually? But other than that, good story line, amazing characters, I would recommend this book. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

This is a good series to read!
I started with the Red Queen and loved it the minute I finished it! It reminds me a bit of the Hunger Games when I reading which really peaked my interests.
