It doesn't say in the description the material content, but when I received them there was a sticker on the outside of the bag that gave it. 84% Cotton 14% Polyester 2% Spandex. It's nearly impossible to find 100% cotton socks anymore, or even socks with 50% cotton, but these having 84% Cotton work great for me. I wear a size 8.5 shoe and these fit me really well.

    Great supplier; be sure of what you're buying.
    Gilman usually has very good quality but the socks didn't have the “bulk” I prefer in a casual white sock.

    Starter 10-pack cotton crew socks were better
    Years ago, I purchased the 10-pack of Starter brand cotton crew socks which were made by Gildan, which are no longer available. I loved how they fit.- roomy in the toes and loose fitting. I took a chance on these Gildan cotton socks but these are thinner, lighter, and smaller in comparison. These are stretchier which I can tell will be less comfortable. Packaging is generic. Just a small sticker on the package. These socks do NOT represent the product photos above. When opening the bag, a strange "dry cleaner" like smell was nasty. Can't imagine black textile dye smelling that strong. I'll keep them for the price.

    Socks were purchased for grandson, who is only 11 years old but has outgrown youth sizes. As he has a longer and wider foot, he says these are a more comfortable fit. He's got quite a few more growth spurts in his future, I hope that he doesn't hit them all before high school.

    Socks are exactly what I ordered. The only downfall was they weren't in a sealed package and I was given as a gift and had to put them in a box because they were all over the place

    Buy originals! Don't buy fakes online!
    Most online retailers ship fakes. The manufacturer website is always out of stock. Take note of proper brand iron-on quality, and a heavy yet bouncy thread quality; look for well-formed seams and no toenail encroaching end-seams.
