Love it
I purchased this GPS for my mom. It's easy to use. You do have to plug it into a computer first. It takes about 4 hours for everything to download. Once you do the first few clicks you can walk away though. Garmin is way more user friendly than the Tom Tom I used to have.

Garmin NUVI 2589LMT GPS
Bought on Walmart .com unit shipped from Amazon unit represented as new, come in plain white box and didn't have proper power cord with traffic receiver built in. Had piece of paper in box asking for feedback on Amazon. Made attempts to contact sellers Gmail and no response from seller. Unit has lifetime Maps and Traffic updates but no traffic receiver. This is not my first Garmin, I have purchased 6 GPS units all Garmin in the past. Not Happy with this Walmart .com purchase

    Nice Product for the Money
    Easy to use, clear screen and perfect size. Took a long time to set up though initially. Had to plug into the computer for over 6 hours to download the maps. Only used it locally so far. It made a few small mistakes but not overly worried because I'm in a very rural area. I would buy again and recommend to others.

    This is a very good GPS for the money. Good clear screen, good lane assist.. Only problem with me was the volume, l drive a charter bus and could not here the voice commands very well, however, in my car it was fine. Unfortunately I must return this one and buy a much more expensive one to get the volume I need. If not for that I would defiantly keep, or buy this one again.

    Garmin Nuvi Gps
    I am comparing this GPS to my present Magellan GPS. I bought it mainly for the live traffic updates, after sitting in the expressway for hours because of an accident. I have only used it once and had no traffic updates. Two things I like better with the Magellan. After you put in the address, a icon at the bottom labeled Options, allows you to pick "fastest time", "most use of Freeways", "Least use of Freeways", or "Shortest distance". The Garmin only has a couple options that you have to go all the way to settings to find and set. The other issue is the Magellan "bings" just before you supposed to turn. The Garvin just says turn on the named street. But, what if their no street signs, and there are two streets close together? I do like the interface better on the Garmin that says "Where to". Inputting addresses and saving them was easy.

    Overall a great unit. Features wise, the voice control is an awesome feature, as well as the smartphone link. As far as the negatives with this unit, I have found that some of the roads are not current. I know of 2 areas that are inaccurate, one of which is a road that no longer exists and another road that dead ends into an oil pad. Another thing I am not sure about is the traffic update feature. From my understanding, the LMT models are supposed to have the traffic feature built into the unit (hence the T in LMT) without the need of an antenna equipped power adapter. For my unit, the traffic updates only work if you connect your smartphone to the unit via "smartphone link". Otherwise a great unit for a smaller vehicle.

    Great features and maps
    Have not used it on trips yet but I love the clarity of the screen, love the features and accessories available. Back up camera available. Can type in a testination and search for poi before you get there not just poi near your current route

    Garmin GPS units are the easiest units to use and are very trouble free. While no GPS units are exactly precise in every instance I've found Garmin to have the highest degree of accuracy and reliability. Syncing is fast, programing is easy, and interface is reliable. Updating is easy, don't buy a GPS without lifetime maps or your GPS will be outdated in a surprisingly short time. Garmin is the top selling GPS system for a reason.

    I have an older Garmin GPS and decided to buy an up to date one instead of buying a map update. I bought the Nuvi 2589LMT and am totally pleased not only with the performance but also the price and quick delivery. I checked the reviews beforehand and this GPS got outstanding reviews and, from my experience, deserves them. Easy to use, interactive voice command, and large readable screen. LIfetime map updates and traffic makes this purchase a no-brainer.
