Great first watch for GPS
I am a women, so I knew the orange color would be bulkier than the standard ladies' color choices. I love this watch so far because it is easy to use and you can set up the display for time/pace, calories, distance and all the bells and whistles. It is easy for the GPS to pick up in the urban areas, but not in the rural areas. It's not super slow, but it takes extra time for it load.

Good watch, but conflicting data....
Does what it's supposed to do. I'm an old fashioned/minimalist runner. Most of my training courses are marked. I already know the mileage. I use these 90% of the time. I know how to do simple math while running. So split and pace conversion isn't really that hard. I'm more into HR and perceived exertion relative to pace. So then, the pace data/feedback available "while" running is neat, but I'm not sure how useful or accurate it is. I prefer other metrics. So, like I said, it tracks mileage well, and with consistency, and also keeps time. No issues there. I was interested in the Gamin Connect download stuff. It was easy, and generally performed as advertised. But... The saved/stored mileage data from the watch, didn't EVER match the mileage data on the Garmin Connect course. In addition, the same issue happened with mile splits. As a result, I doubt that I will keep the watch. I thought it might make a nice training log, with usable analytics. It might. But the GPS analytics appear to be suspect. So.....whats the point? For simple time and distance purposes. Good tool.

great watch, does what I wanted
I am a carriage driver and needed to keep track of speed and distance for training my pony. This watch does that and does it in a simple manner that is easy to set up and easy to use. I am only 4'11" and tiny but it is wearable as a regular watch so I always have it when I need it. So far, the battery life has been great. I can wear it about a week without recharging even with a couple of training sessions which require more battery. I got the pink and love it.

    Good basic GPS watch
This is a great basic GPS watch. There are a few other metrics, but if all you really want to see at one glance is how long and how far you've run, this is the watch for you. It's simple to start and stop recording. The GPS locks on fairly quickly. Easy to read display. I bought one for my 8 year old to run with in his 5K race. If a young child can easily operate and read it, anyone else can.

    Super Easy To Use!
I like the simplicity of this watch and ease of operation. The only downside is that when you start on your run and start the watch - it can take up to a few minutes or so for the GPS to find your location. So you have to turn it on before you start your run. But once it finds you - all is great!

    So far so good
I have only had my Garmin Forerunner10 for about 10 days. So far it is exactly what I was looking for in a simple GPS running watch; time, distance, and pace. I'm assuming it is accurate as far as distance is concerned, but I have not actually "verified" it in any "official" manner. I plan to at least check it against my iPhone at some point. The only two things that are frustrating to me about this watch, however, are that is takes a long time to find and lock onto a satellite so that I can begin my run (and I live way out in the country with only trees around, but plenty of open areas) and that the buttons don't "beep" when they are pressed so that I can know for sure when I press one on or off (I run long before daylight). I thought I had read that they did beep when pressed and that the watch beeped at a (pre-set) time, such as at each mile mark. But I plan to keep the watch because it is basic and all I really require as a runner. I'm 56 and have run for 35 years (literally!) and at this stage in my running life, this watch is adequate.

    My new running must have.....
Love love love!! Accurate , easy to use, just amount of data I'm looking for. Not data overloaded like some. I'm very pleased with it. Just wish the garmin app was iphone compatible. But I'm sure it will in time.

    Love it!
This is my first Garmin watch and I bought it to compare it with the Nike + running app on my iPhone. I wanted to see how accurate it was and there isn't much of a difference distance wise, but there is a big gap in calorie burned count. The app states that around 70 calorie difference, the app's count is lower. Other than that, I love it! It is also very light weight and the perfect size for women.

    Easy to use and accurate
I have started long distance running and that is why I got this device. The first time I used it was at a 5K, though. It was perfectly accurate with the event clock and distance. All I had to do was take it out of the package and charge it overnight. In the morning, I quickly read the directions and put it on. When I started the race I pushed a button twice and started running. When I crossed the finish line I pushed a button. I was able to review my results immediately. My only regret is that my laptop is so old I don't have the software on it to upload information from this device, and I don't have enough memory to download the needed software. It is time for us to buy a new computer and this device is what pushed us off the fence to go buy one. I am really looking forward to improving my times on long distance runs with the help of this device. It is impressively easy, lightweight, and apparently accurate!

    Exellent Watch!!
I bought this watch to help me train for my first marathon and it really exceeded my expectations! The gps tracking is amazing. You can upload your running information and see a detailed map of where you ran, your distance, time, pacing, and calories burned. I would definitely recommend. It is a bit on the big side. I am rather petite and the watch face covers more than my entire wrist (even though it is in womens). In comparison, I bought a "Mio" exercise watch before this garmin, and the MIO watch is much smaller. MIO offers watches in "petite" sizes, the only downside is the MIO doesn't have gps tracking, it only estimates distances and calories burned based on stride length and steps taken. However, it did do an ok job with its estimations when I compared it to the garmin results. Overall, I would highly recommend the Garmin Forerunner 10.
