one piece not two
The original filter was two pieces making it a lot easier to install . This filter was one piece and very flimsy , Because of a bracket next to the glove box and the offset position of the compartment location, insertion of the filter was extremely difficult.

    For GEORGIA this is a MUST HAVE for SPRING.
    Anyone who lives in Georgia knows spring brings a lot of pollen so a good cabin air filter is essential. You can see the density of this filter is superior to other brands which is 5stars is you have ever lived through a yellow spring.

    May not help get rid of cigarette stink.
    Changing to this cabin air filter was part of an effort to get rid of the odor in the car after a cigarette smoking couple (relatives) had the use of our car for a year. It could be that the underside of the dash that our odor-eliminating spray couldn't reach is retaining some of the smell... It was a bit discouraging that the filter had to be ordered then another 30 mile trip made to Walmart to pick it up.

    Cabin Air Filter
    I've used this before. It fits perfectly and works fine. A lot more reasonable than at a Subaru dealer. If I remember correctly, the original one I purchased from parts when I bought the car in 2005 was about ~$40.00

    Don't believe the other brands of filters
    The Fram CHARCOAL filter is probably THE BEST type of filter on the market. Charcoal has been used for centuries to filter out impurities from water, air, various chemical mixtures, and even the human body. And being able to get it for half the price of what you'd pay at an auto parts store for the same filter, you have to love that! With the money I saved I'm treating myself to a nice steak dinner. Thanks Walmart for another great deal.
