Wonderful product!!!
Everything about this purchase from the online contract to pick up at the store was handled impeccably. A big thank you to Walmart. Even the clerk I picked it up from warned me about the short supply of ink in the cartridges that shipped with the printer. I was able to order online replacements immediately and now I won't run short. The printer itself is a gem. The setup was pretty quick. The printed instructions do not show the output tray, which had me looking around for a while before I found it. I had tried to print the test page and it would not print because the output tray was not folded out. The Wi-Fi setup was flawless. The duplex printing worked flawlessly. Air print is a great feature, I can print directly from my cell phone, my android cell phone that is. I can print from my iPad as well, no physical look up needed. If I wanted a fax machine I would have bought the hire model.

Got it home, started to set it up cut it on place the ink in its slots an the printer would not recognize the red an black photo ink, called Epson they said not to return it to walmart they are sending new ink but its taking 8 to 10 business days an could not a sure me this would fix it so im still with no printer an no way knowing what is going to happen in 8 to 10 days

    I bought this printer because the Walmart ad specifically said it worked with Windows10. It does if you go through the control pa el to access the scanner and printer. You do not get full features with Windows10. The printer does print very well and hooked up to my IPhone and IPad without issues.

    It works!
    Just installed Epson X520 and it was easy (I am Not a Techno Nerd. At 76 I wouldn't be allowed in that club). Just returned another - not Epson - printer this a.m. after 4 hours of trying to set it up yesterday. My Epson set up took about an hour. So pleased at the simplicity of set up and simplicity of operation. It's just what I wanted.

    New Epson printer
    Great choice, had a few before but this one is the best, not too big, hold plenty of paper and has great quality for pics. Also the WIFI Bluetooth we can print straight from our phones, GREAT feature. For household items and great pics this is the best printer and a real fair price.

    not very impressed
    I am really ticked off so far. I have followed all the directions for installation. It picked up the wifi perfectly, everything worked well, until the ink installation. It will not recognize the ink. If I install the black it is fine if the Cyan is NOT in. If the cyan is on and the black is NOT it, it is fine. If they are both in, then neither works. I have tried a number of trouble shooting ideas, but nothing has worked and I have been at this an hour. If I have to go back to the store, I will not be buying another Epson.

    I Love my XP-520! Love the ink cartridges
    This is the easiest printer I have ever used. The duplexing feature is stellar. If there is an interruption in the printing, for example: one color needs to be changed in the middle of your 35 page doc of the 2nd side, the machine will remember where you are, and go there!!!! Love the front loading! Love the foot print. The only thing I would change: the paper tray. I would make the paper tray sturdier. Make it a touch higher up in the machine so it would slide better. I know that would make it taller, but it would be worth it.

    Electrical engineer / advanced user had problems
    When i read the reviews and found that so many people complained about this printer i thought it was user error. But i had the exact problem. The printer did not recognize the ink cartridges and even after removing and replacing it still would not. I have used Epson printers for years, but this one is a dud. Returned it and am considering the 620 .

    Bad Quality, worst product ever.
    I tried to set up two of these printers and both times it tells me it does not recognize the ink cartridges. It was different cartridges on each set up. I followed the directions and used the ink provided. It is the second step in the set up. How could you mess that up. (1) Turn on power, (2) Install ink cartridges.

    Good Product -- Poor Policy
    I just unpacked and installed an Epson XP-520 on my MAC PRO running Yosemite. Very easy to install and the printer works fine. Additionally, I was pleased to receive a code for a 10% discount at the Epson Store for registering the purchase. I was NOT PLEASED that, after ordering a new set of ink cartridges at the Epson Store (list price $100!!!), the 10% discount DID NOT WORK. So I went back to the discount notice and found that, at the bottom of the page, in 9 point type, "Consumer Inks" were disallowed. Bummed. 5 stars for the product, 1 star for consumer-friendly.
